Just installed new client, opened/synced, added an existing account using my private key from my NEM Stake account, new account activated with correct Public Key and Address but showing zero balance Sad

Is there a delay in transferring stakes?

People complain about POI. How much money do you think you'd spend on mining rig, compare as to buying in XEM or NXT lol it's the same. You spent the money on mining rig, rather than just buying in POI or POS coin. You think POW is getting it for free. You've spent all that money on rigs man. lol. That kind of mindset baffles me, Facebook stock wasn't free people had to buy in except those who were part if it in the early days. fyi I didn't buy fb. lol

Just curious but why is it still called the Beta Client if NEM has already been launched? Will NEM have a protracted beta phase similar to Bitcoin instead of NXT?

Is NEM really from scratch? It should be here soon: http://mapofcoins.com/

Yup it's new code created from scratch. It was originally meant to be a NXT clone but later on, the decision was made to rebuild it from the ground up.

I'm not sure where it would fit in that site though. It would probably be placed in its own group since it's not a fork of any existing currency or perhaps it could have a faint line joining it up with NXT to show that it was heavily inspired by it despite not sharing any code. Other than that, no other project that I know of has attempted forking NEM yet so it would just be sitting there alone.

I see that a lot of work really went into this: http://bob.nem.ninja/docs/ I never liked POS and I still think POW is the best distribution and mining model so far but I really want to see how this POI will play out. I also dont like how some chosen few people get to get 9 billion coins for free and just dump it for BTC later.

Beginning to sound like a blockchain reactionary.   Wink

I think PoW is just nostalgic.  Many people today struggle with PoW and that is despite 6 years of tutorials and guides, imagine trying to do it back in 2009 when there was no educational resources.  You pretty much needed to be a computer science graduate to had been an early PoW miner.   With NEM you only need a PhD to harvest - Public high school Diploma PhD  Cheesy  You only need to click a button in NEM and you've engaged that faster than light drive.   Shocked

How is everyone getting on with harvesting?
Im on delegated harvesting, but havnt harvested any NEM since i started on the 1st of april.
Only one block was harvested and no NEM was in it.

Has anyone else had the same results? i have 2.25 million XEM

With the full 2.5mill XEM I've harvested one block with no reward.

I have ~ 2.5million vested and have harvested 2 blocks with 0 fees since launch

BTW is there a block difficulty chart?

im not sure, someone must know

Yes, I have harvested 5 blocks with 2.2+M of XEM. Local harvesting, not delighted harvesting. Laptop was on all day/night.

I just created a Raspberry Pi 2 NEM node. To me it seems fine so far. It just started, so will see how it goes for day or two or the rest of the week.

My Raspberry Pi is running NEM and NXT node together at the same time.

Ive been delegated harvesting, so my computer has been off most of the time, i dont know whats more reliable.
I also dont understand what the "due by hours" option means when starting harvesting.

In the future we can rent a booth at one of these conferences, a dev or stakeholder can represent NEM. Sponsoring a pitch-off event at a TechCrunch meetup would be good for public exposure. It will put NEM in front of developers, investors, start-ups, entrepreneurs and tech writers.

No, this is the only thing i dont have  Cheesy , the most important thing i have is my son.

Dont get me wrong Cfb, your realy a great coder and someone who is active creating and working in the szene, but the way you are collecting informations is great entertainment,  thanks for that   Grin .

You also seem to get me wrong. NEM is a bishop in my chess game against the state. I'm analyzing it for flaws trying to transform it into a rook or even a queen. My intentions are not altruistic, but they are not about money.

You're not going against any state..  Cheesy

We are all fighting back against the state here. That's what this crypto currency movement is all about. Unless you are just looking for a quick buck or cheaper payment processing.

I don't really come from outer space.
Congratulations on the launch of NEM, dev team!   This is pretty awesome.  I'm looking forward to seeing how this coin and community develop over the course of the next several months.

Since this is written in Java. That means it can be an android app easily?

This would be cool. Android tablets are getting really cheap.

Looks like NEM is more resource-hungry than I thought. My laptop has 1 GB of RAM but after a few hours of running the wallet, it's already slowing things down. Will there be a way to run a NEM node on less powerful hardware such as the Raspberry Pi?

Screenshot:

Also another thing that I found a bit strange was that Poloniex paid a 72.7 NEM transaction fee despite claiming that the fee would only be 15 NEM. The extra coins weren't deducted from my account so they must have paid it out of their own pocket:
