We had two votings about the logo, the community decided. Another poll now will feel like make fun on them...
IMHO unserious and useless but if you really want to go that way, do it. You'll have a super-amazing-mind-blowing logo and community laughin at you. Good decision.
The community has already moved forward, so it makes sense to see what they come up with, without prejudging.
Ok, so lets change the amount of coins again please, can we do a poll? I vote for 2187. Thats my birthdate and brings luck. Sorry to be that sarcastic but i only read ONE message in the official forum to change the logo again. I don't see more than 5-8 people here who want to change the current one. Please define community to me. This is an unreleased coin, 3 times the logo has changed. New website released a few days ago. People screaming about launch. Trust me THIS isn't helpful to the image of NEM. I just don't see a clear focus all around here.

above Phoenix logo is better than current one.....yes or no ?
no. why? i don't see any connection nem - phoenix... Oo
the rendering is nice and that's the end of the story.

Phoenix represents rebirth. We are the New Economy Movement. So we are the rebirth of the economy. It's a perfect fit, I think. If someone asked me what that Phoenix logo is, I am confident that I could explain it.

Also, the Phoenix is present in Asia, America, and the Middle East (if not elsewhere as well), so it is a concept that everyone can relate to.

The bird logo could also be a swan. And you can turn that into a "black swan in cpypto" story, which is what you've been saying about NEM for a long time.

Anyway the best out of them.
But at least, I would love to see one with human beings holding their hands, for example. May even forming a globe or because of me also a phoenix, but simple. As we are a community made out of humans and especially for them and with them. You know, I would love to have this "Us" feeling in it.
May also someone could remind me, why we are just using this kind of red/orange? We could use different colors to symbolize each nation. Also it's not that trustworthy like blue, or green, for example.
There could be so much message in just a simple logo, so why not doing so? It's what I'm missing in all of them.
At least, the logo should describe us, not conversely.

The "phoenix" looks a lot like a swan to me and that isn't epic at all imho.

How about this? You put down a firm launch date and I'll get an attractive chick to wear the NEM shirt for you, and I'll post the pic here. And I live in a place where, trust me, you want that.

Sounds good to me!  Cheesy
Can she dress like a Phoenix?  Cool

I think it is a good idea to set a firm date once we are solid enough to launch, so that we can build up for the big release.

Any chance you could change your username to NEMtildah?  Lips sealed

Stop talking about logo. Lets get this Launch date first. Quit digressing ppl. DO NOT BE DISTRACTED.
Talk about launch date, not the freaking logo again, we'll vote on that once we're live.

This. This guy only has a score of 43, yet he gets it.

It really is that simple. NEM is nothing until it is released. Let's all stop pretending its already something, for the love of JL777.

By the way, such moment. Whether there will be present Coinomat (https://coinomat.com) and its assets of CoinoUSD, CoinoEUR on NEM AE?

If this crypto Fiat in the form of assets is present, NEM can automatically become the safe safe for storage the fiat money thanks to multi-signatures. I already start considering business of the scheme with use the fiat assets and possibility of a trade linking of these assets not only together with NEM, but also with others crypto, and also assets. Here it is interesting, whether developers will make the exchange the designer, within the crypto NEM crypto platform that there it was possible to trade in vapors NEM/CoinoUSD, NEM/CoinoEUR, CoinoEUR/CoinoUSD, NXT/CoinoUSD and so on. I.e. that there was a possibility not of a binding of assets only to NEM and it was still possible to trade also among themselves other assets really in the same place in couple between with each other. If so is, we will come to levels of the true decentralized exchange at which any asset together with any asset can bargain. And not necessarily it has to be the rigid binding together with NEM.

NEM is a comprehensive platform and not just a crypto currency. With that in mind, we want to make it easy for people to develop for us, hence the priority for the currency to be compatible with basic types in javascript.

Isn't NEM based on Java though? JavaScript and Java are two completely different languages. Huh

Actually it uses both:

Quote
NEM is built on a 100% new source code base that is written in Java and JavaScript by some of the most experienced and passionate developers in the industry. The NEM Ecosystem is meticulously well-architected and designed. It consists of the NEM Infrastructure Server (NIS) and the wallet, NEM Community Client (NCC). NIS and NCC, together, form one of the most advanced decentralized cryptocurrencies in the world, with plans to implement ‘colored coins’ and a decentralized asset exchange.

Yes! I will be redeeming mine tonight. The place that I'm in has terrible Internet and the only laptops which can connect to the wifi are the one I'm using right now (an ancient Pentium M) and a netbook I hardly use. So I was able to download the NEM and NXT blockchains last night and also the NEM (standalone) and NXT clients will be redeeming my 0.1 NEMstake.

Just one question though... How many coins are there now? I think there was discussion about changing the total supply a while back but I'm not sure what the outcome of that was. Is the number still 4 billion coins with 1 million per NEMstake?

The NEM currency is comprised of 8,999,999,999 XEM, so each stake is 2,249,999.99975 XEM  Smiley

Ah, OK thanks. I guess it's kinda cool that I'm getting more NEM coins now. (yes, I know they're worth exactly the same but still. Grin)

Also, any particular reason why it's not just an even 9 billion? What happened to the 1 missing coin?

The missing coin is to be burnt to commemorate those who couldn't live to see the NEMolution.

LOL!! Cheesy

But more seriously, I think it's got to do with Javascript limitations:

Quote
The limitation of JavaScript only allows for less than around 9 Billion coins. After some deliberation it was then suggested that the total supply be 8,999,999,999 NEM coins and distributed in the same ratio as before (each stake being worth 1/4000 of the total supply). Therefore, each stake will be entitled to 2,249,999.99975 NEM coins.
