Closing in on a year. Cheesy  What's up with this?

Well you know - Just too many lazy stakeholders (don't mean you or anytone in particular) that didn't feel like testing during the alpha which is why we had more bugs than expected during beta which is why implementation of multi-sig is taking longer.

That's whats up.

Patmast3r please don't feel disillusioned by the tone of this thread. Myself and the majority of silent stakeholders / NEM holders fully support your work and understand how much work it is to actually code a new cryptocurrency from scratch.

+1440 to that. As one of the lazy stakeholders, I say take all the time you need. I may occasionally ask a question about timetables if it seems appropriate, but you won't hear any complaints about delays from me. I would much rather it come out good from the beginning, and I would especially prefer to not go through nearly as many wallet failures and updates as I did with NXT in its first year. If it takes an extra couple months or more to have a stable wallet and network from the beginning I say it's well worth the wait.

I myself am so busy with XMR and HYP that I cannot spend half the time I'd like to with NEM. I would take advantage of the opportunity to mention that patmast3r had been VERY helpful to me for claiming my NEMstake, more than most people I know in crypto. Kudos to patmast3r.

Also, by experience, users testing prior to release are not worth much. Testers simply don't test enough. I suppose there are some industrial-grade process (kind of ITIL or COBIT but for testing) but nothing usable with decentralised open-source project not backed-up by full-time employees.

The test is not lazy, is if you can get hold of the phone version, I will participate, is now open for customer service side need to install a plug-in, if I may, I wish I could get a plug-in version is not required, so whether it is a mobile phone or computers can be tested, so it is convenient everyone, I want to take the test, but now I do not have access computer work place Grin

I am not Dorian Nakamoto.
Actually i tried the beta, i didn't see a noticeable difference from the alpha state 5 months ago.

Just that the beta is a lot slower to sync and NIS seems lunatic as hell  Wink

My analysis : Alpha > Beta

Cheesy

That's because the blockchain for the beta has lots of transactions and is larger now than NXT even though the beta has only been out since Oct.

Running NIS works fine for me, though admittedly I run from the pre-compiled zip at bob.nem.ninja and not via webstart.

Closing in on a year. Cheesy  What's up with this?

they dont respect the stakeholders enough to tell them the truth that their are serious issues with the coin. Im guessing the blockchain is a mess. They are hiding behing multi sig which would only take a day or two. Typical power doesnt admit fault anf covers up with lies. They will delete this.

You nerd dont talk here with your new account because you know nothing about it. Get out of the troll.

if anyone wants to set up a nem node, it just got easier. Smiley

that music was the best of a bad bunch lol

could someone who has zero knowledge of linux and setting up nodes in general other than downloading a client locally give this a go and tell me if theres any part that you get stuck on or find confusing? i want it to be as straight forward as possible so anyone can do it irrespective of technical skill level.

Lets start with question number one. What is a (nem) node and why would I want one (it)?

This may be a dumb question, but... do you need to be running the Linux OS to do this? Or, could you do it on Windows?

you can do it on Windows but if you want to use a Windows server it generally costs a minimum of 3 Times more. 5 dollars per month is ok.. 15 not so much. Also it's a phenomenal pain in the ass to modify port settings and do basically everything else too. At least that was my experience.

One other question: Could this be done with a Raspberry pi? If so, then I will look into it further Smiley
yes I can but I havnt a clue how that would be done lol

By the way.. That server provider, vultr.com, accepts bitcoin.

OK, well I will look into it and perhaps experiment. I'll watch the video. Thanks for the help.
