It's not decided yet if it's gonna be small standalone app or JS-based app
In any case we'll make sure, that the key is created on YOURs machine.

It is a known error on the latest release of the Alpha. I had the same message but everything still worked fine. I sent coins, received them, and even harvested. The Devs are already patching it for the next version.

Hope so, i did not face this issue with my another laptop with same OS and same antivirus software . My firewall is hard to config (Buffalo), could be that..

Search for you "NEM" folder in finder. You can find subfolders like NIS, NCC, and MON. If you look in the NCC folder there will be a file called "username.wlt". I think that this is your wallet. Copy and paste it somewhere safe. If you need to reload NEM on a different computer you can past that file in and your coins will be there. (if you still know the same exact password. they are mated together)

I recently did this on Windows but not Mac, but I think it will be the same process.

I'm trying to run NEM on Windows now, but NCC keeps complaining that "NIS info is not avaiable yet. Trying to retrieve NIS info...". It has been like that for over an hour now. I'm using Java 8 and have booted the node, so I don't know anymore what I can do. Hopefully these problems will be solved in Beta.

That means a port in your router is closed, but it shouldn't affect your beta testing. I had the same problem. The devs have already announced that they fixed this port issue in the next release.

Post your NEM address here and people will send you coins and then you can send some out. After 24 hours of coin age you can test harvesting too.
