you can now buy nem with credit card - nearly lol

How do they handle the problem of chargebacks?

I'm pretty sure you can only cashout your NXT to a credit card, not the other way around.

The ticker for NEM needs to start with an X.  The possibilities are XNM, XEM, XNE.  Of these, I really think XEM looks a lot better.  Other people on Trello thought so too.

Thanks for the post jabo38, this is an important question for NEM.

Maybe we should start a poll so everyone can express their opinion.

Personally I like both XNM and XEM.

I am not sure how XNM could be pronounced. I prefer XEM because it could be pronounced "ZEM," which sounds kinda cool Cheesy

Also, the N in NEM means "new," but in 100 years, will it still be considered "new"?

+1 on XEM - Love it - Reminds me of another crypto I'm a huge bagholder in, Zimstake - Anyone want to trade some XEM for ZIM?  Cheesy

-1 on XNM - Burn it - Reminds me of a word jumble and I never find the word

Phasing out the "N" wouldn't be a bad idea at all.
I think XNM visually looks better, but have to agree with you on all other points.

And please change the football logo. I hate it. I know that might sound like a negative post, but am counting on NEM as a community to hear me out in changing the logo.

NEM is an Economy and a Movement. So the E and M are much more representing than the N "new".

For that I would prefer XEM. XEM looks good and sounds good.

this for to be used on currency exchanges, so im pretty sure it has to be only 3 letters
Well, in thise case it should be impossible for NEM to be ISO 4217 compliant.

It's a 3 letter code. The first two are the the country (NEM has none), the 3rd for the currency:

http://www.iso.org/iso/home/standards/currency_codes.htm
"Currencies/commodities that don't have a country start with "X" thus

XAU = Gold
XAG = Silver
XPD = Palladium
XDR = International Monetary Fund
XUA = African Development Fund
XBD = European Bonds
XRP = Ripple
XCP = Counter Party
XBT = Bitcoin

And so on. There are actually lots and lots of tickers codes that aren't officially started from a country that start with an "X". "
Is there any source where this standard is defined?

Given 3 letters are allowed, I also vote for XEM.

XNEM (x-nem) is a wonderful source for marketing now. Imagine all the goodness that could spring out of this.

I like it too Cheesy

But are 4 letter codes allowed?
BTCS, CINNI, CLOAK, COMM, CRYPT, DOGE, DOPE, ... yes they are Wink

Dudes!

Pretty sure this has aready been posted, but it's a great piece of news, so no harm in re-posting it.

Anyone with the urge to invest in or know more about the Secure AE project:

And, just in case any f**ker may have doubts about my position:
I'm fully on board with NEM as a stakeholder/investor, have been since the very beginning but NXT is my #1 project.

Thanks for the info. Looks great.

Edit: XNM is my choice, though XNEM is definitely cooler.
