Another ETH smart contract was just hacked: https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/74d3dc/smartbillions_lottery_contract_just_got_hacked/

The best part about this is that Smartbillions invited people to hack this contract to prove it's security. More weight to NEM's approach of keeping smart contracts on a seperate permissioned layer.

I jumped into NEM train like 6 months ago and I am not going to fall off. NEM is the top 5 most sophisticated blockchains on the market. Problem is that it really lacks marketing. It is slowly going to right places, like the NEM 101 project. I would run it differently but it's still much better than nothing.

NEM really lacks the country and even state representants. Internet is wide and few people won't cover the whole world. I know that Lon's argument is to have small team but extremely talented and hard-working. But it isn't enough to cover the whole internet and reach to organisations. Opportunities are born from activities.

Europe is looking into Ethereum as an golden blockchain, with some excepts like NEO/Waves/EOS/LISK etc. Everyone is shilling them on facebook groups with thousands of users, on forums, slacks and telegrams. Attitude of "technology is more important than coin price" is inaccurate. No-one would hear about blockchain if not bitcoin price success. I believe that NEM foundation is doing good job, with man-power they have. Little tweaks, some improvements here and there and NEM will succeed tremendously. But this is my personal view on it Smiley
That's what Lon Wong said recently

Absolutely right,
but I think we will see a big marketing change next year!
They are going to invest 40$ Million into marketing next year and together with some other amazing stuff
(COMSA, Catapult, more adoption in real business) the NEM price will explode:)

We have to be patient:)

exactly! Smiley

Inside NEM Blockchain Ep 14: Top 10 Cryptos vs NEM Blockchain

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHbkfeDx7D4

A pretty honest comparison between the top ten coins (market cap), obviously slanted towards NEM which is understandable but she didn't exaggerate any problems various coins have imo.

soooooo. sad looking at xem get dumped right now
Right, we have many good news by men, but see only dump now(

We have a bear market at the moment!
Everything will rise again after the Bitcoin hardfork and if Bitcoin ETF will be allowed (hopefully).
And specially for NEM we have to wait for the Catapult release at the end of this year.

After pumping phases always must unfold dumping phases (mostly fake, with low volume, to retake coins from weak hands), after some time of accumulation (mostly much longer than pumping phases) will come another wave of pumping. It's a scheme so often repeating in altworld, and XEM cant be immune in that matter. And postponed Catapult (Summer is ended, now we have some mentions about december but who knows) does not help XEMs price too. But this is good time for inverstors to accumulate, bad time for shortterm speculators. You dont have to expect two bubbles on any coin in one year. Bubbles after bursting are created very carefully by market makers (accumulation phase). So we hodlers must wait patiently for new bubble, probably in the next year;) Of course there is some probability, that with further growth of BTC price beyond 5000 (perfectly to 8000 at last), XEM can do small bubble (small in percentage for persons who invests now) in range 0,5-1$. I dont take COMSA in account, because i dont see any popularity of it outside of the current NEM ecosystem (not to mention Japan as a whole even). I also invest not in COMSA cause Japanese ignore my emails. They are only orientated to themselfs (as Japanese nation). Very bad marketing there, and very bad dilution of coins in this ICO too (50% created from the air - after purchasing phase, just like banksters do with their buisnesses). That's a shame, but some criticism is needed for some people involved in this ICO and even in NEM as a whole.

Yeah shilling is great, but NEM is kind of dead. Sure you will get your 10-30% on the next pump, which will be who knows when, than back to the 5k support. Typical.

Everything in altland is dead. ETH volume is 40x down on its peaks and more. Everyone may as well go out and relax because not much will be happening for a while.

Thats awesome news!  Smiley
Nem was very popular in China and in some of the Asian Countries! In the light of recent development in China as regard crypto currency, what is going to be the short, medium and long term impact on Nem!

Seems China will just be regulating crypto markets, anyway BTC had the highest impact in China, but the price has been recovering as the rest of the world learns we dont need china! Smiley

BTW...

NEM is very strong in the likes of Japan and Malaysia, which are both crypto friendly...

I don't know why that is so often repeated here, there is next to zero volume in Japan or Malay.. There's more here in the states and even that is pathetically low.

Zaif is not included in calculation at CMC

it's not included in what's shown on the front page of cmc, but you can still see the total volume in nem/jpy and nem/btc, and the /jpy pair is usually barely above a million, /btc is even worse.
