I saw it mentioned some time back that Lon Wong was targeting $5/XEM by the end of 2018. Has anyone heard any updates on this forecast and do we think it's still realistic?

I haven't spotted anything.

I do not think it's realistic at all. $1 XEM could well be but the NEM action seems to be happening mainly on private chains and there comes a point where that hype can only go so far. ETH will find out the same thing eventually. The things they're planning won't come to full fruition in a year and a bit.

You won't find me objecting though.

Would also be very surprised and in the same time happy to see 5$/XEM . I guess the range will be more around 1.5$-2$ if NEM continues the solid stable work development. 5$ possible when "competitors" screw it more and more up, like we can see now...

Given the action seems to be in the private sphere, is NEM still investable at this marketcap?

I do not think it's realistic at all. All the NEM action is happening on private chains. If it is to happen it'll take longer. The things they're planning won't come to full fruition in a year and a bit.

A market cap growth of NEM to roughly $45bln until the end of 2018? ... I dont think so either.

Nothing is impossible for Lon Wong, but since we are already in August and given the uncertainties around bitcoin, its highly unlikely.

How many NEMS are needed to run a delegate for the NEM network? Also how much a delegate is making on a daily/monthly basis?

10k vested xems are needed to start harvesting, but you only harvest a block in 3 months i guess.
You don't get rich by harvesting.
If I have 100K NEMS, would it harvest 10 blocks in 3 months? Also could you point me to the hardware requirements for running a harvesting node.

1) The number of blocks you harvest is indeed roughly proportional to the amount of xems you have.
2) Hardware requirement is 2GB RAM and 1 cpu core (raspi is not good enough). But you don't need to run a server yourself, you can use delegated harvesting to harvest on a public node.
The current price is down,The coin long holding is not very good,Need to wait patiently,Maybe you will have a good income

This is exciting news.
So it is possible NEM will be as popolar in Europe as in Japan?

Coinmarcetcap makes NEM popular all over the world.
I think when there will be a catapult,
NEM will become much more popular than now.  Grin
