It'll heat up right up until it happens and then it'll take a ginormous shit it'll never recover from.

Check the behaviour of NXT with its airdrops like Ardor. I expect this will be very similar.

The biggest factor will be whether it takes place during a generalised alt season. If that is the case the price could be much higher than now.

You mean snapshot before Symbol launch ? It would be announced in november before snapshot how to get your tokens in new blockchain. Devs saying there would be an easy procedure and if your wallet with XEM tokens will be snapshoted you will be eligible for claiming your XYM in Symbol blockchain for 6 years.

You mean snapshot before Symbol launch ? It would be announced in november before snapshot how to get your tokens in new blockchain. Devs saying there would be an easy procedure and if your wallet with XEM tokens will be snapshoted you will be eligible for claiming your XYM in Symbol blockchain for 6 years.

Yes, usually the price of the "old" token is strongly pushed the weeks before the snapshot. Immediately afterwards, a long lasting decline normally happens. This has been a common pattern to many such crpyto projects.

Why is NEM creating a new project? You are right that the airdrop will cause a price increase for some time.
3000 TPS is not a big speed today. In 5 years, NEM lost his position in the market and he had many successful competitors.

Symbol will have many new features that are not possible on NEM. It will be much more business oriented. I am not a programmer but i think this something similar as PolkaDot's Para-chain technology
And about TPS - one admin in Telegram chat sad that some privat networks in Symbol Tesnet already have shown 10k+ TPS.

Anyone know when the snapshot for balances will take place? Or has it already? If NEM is on a hardware wallet, will it be better to move it to a non-hardware wallet for the snapshot in order to have access to SYMBOL? I'm assuming hardware support for SYMBOL won't be available for some time after launch.
