So why then sudden drop in XEM?

all markets are down...

I haven't seen it this low in awhile. Maybe headed back to the 5k area if this keeps up.

we were down briefly to 10c at the first flash crash.

These corrections are healthy if you ask me.

lol, alot of people dont understand much about security.

Https is only typically used on the likes of internet banking and other secure logins.

Sorry, but no.

The EFF is encouraging websites to use SSL, get one here: https://letsencrypt.org/

The browsers trust this certificate authority and its all for free.

About the harvesting:

Just to be sure. I just follow the instructions, click the tiny play button and that´s it? No need to make further settings? Except for checking if the node is still connected once in a while. The node doesn´t matter security-wise or are there differences between the nodes?

And there is no additional risk in loosing my funds whatsoever when I use delegated harvesting?

Thanks!

Yes, no need for further settings. Instead of the Play-button, you see now a Stop-button. This also indicates that your harvesting is running.

You can also monitor the connection of your node via "NEMnotifications"-Bot on Telegram ( Atm however, I think is is broken).

Yes, there is no additional risk loosing your funds. The delegated Node has no access to your funds.

ATM I harvest with 15k XEM and got average 1 Block per Week with average 15 XEM fees each.  I don't do transactions  either. I wouldn't not wonder if the price of XEM  compare to Fiat and BTC will rise massively within the next 5 years. That's why, the harvesting is a nice side gift from the system.

That's one of the best features of NEM, delegated harvesting.  Collecting fees with your PC off.

Don't think mining BTC with a comparable amount would get you anything like NEM ... just wasted electricity Smiley

greentea, You know similar coins with similar concept of harvesting/staking ?

Every POS coin (NXT, Waves...) has ability to delegate staking to a pool but this brings to centralization and you must trust the pool to return you the profits.

NEM is better: you delegate to your own personal pool and you have complete  control even if your pool runs on someone else's node.

Didn't realize this very important detail about personal pool delegation. Thanks for pointing this out! I will continue to learn about this project!

Hi

Congrats on finding 2 blocks.  How long were you vested for before you found 2 blocks?

It's not expensive to get an https license, nothing wrong with being critical

I don't care how it's integrated, if the site isn't https it doesn't get my business.

What do you think you get out of https? Just curious.

Are there merchants that accept xem  as payment?

I know of this: http://mynem.store

I wouldn't trust that site. It's not secure.

It's 100% safe. A lot of nem gadgets are all over th world now (:

Just because it is http? You pay by making a separate XEM transfer with your favorite client, payment is not integrated into the store.

Gulden allows you to pay at Gulden or Bitcoin merchants.  Is this a possibility with XEM in the future?
