Anyone have a brief summary of upcoming NEM developments/breakthroughs (ie: catapult, mijin, etc) and news and what they mean for NEM moving forward?
Trying to do one of my youtube shows on NEM and want to make sure I accurately convey what's coming for NEM. Thanks.
This is just a high level overview, from what I read into this Catapult will be released in the Summer:
Three partners, two chains and one ecosystemWe would like to clarify here again the working relationship between NEM, Tech Bureau, and Dragonfly in the past year has been frictionless and progressing very well.
The three NEM core developers have been contributing fulltime to the development of Catapult and are fully financed by Tech Bureau. That common core engine, codenamed Catapult, will be used in both projects by NEM and mijin eventually.
The public blockchain project by NEM which has a cryptocurrency called XEM, and our strong alliance, isone of the major reasons that caused XEM to grow from a market cap of USD 2 million to USD 200 million -a multiple of 100 times since Takemiya left us -in a space of 12 months taking us to between the6th.and8th. largest cryptocurrency in the world.
Tech Bureau’s private and commercial blockchain product Mijin, powered by the new Catapult engine, has achieved remarkable results in an e-money system POC test by Arara, Inc. and Sakura Internet. The POC was run on inexpensive cloud servers (500 USD/month servers demonstrating that it does not require expensive servers to run our solution)to process over 4 thousands transactions per second, without downtime, even while 2 out of the 3 servers were taken offline during the experiment.
NEM and mijin will include separate API server gateways, but yet the two will share the same core to serve 2 different purposes.
Dragonfly will utilize both nem and mijin technology to create a payment consortium as a service layer for financial institutions, and even succeeded in pegging token values between NEM public blockchain and mijin private blockchain.
By having the same API spec and documentations on purpose, even though those 3 products are used for separate purposes, it is extremely easy for the three parties to introduce both products to users at the same time.
Without any contradictions, conflicts, or inefficiencies, we are able to bring the three parties together to roll out our projects harmoniously and successfully.
In the exhibition at Inside Fintech 2016 Seoul, NEM shared a booth in collaboration with Tech Bureau. Community members from nearby countries gathered to one place to introduce the two technologies, to the Korean market.
Down the road, we believe our collaboration will be even more cohesive and effective when the Catapult version of product is introduced into the market. We are even optimizing our out-to-market strategies such as content creation or strategy building, working together in a much closer and tighter manner.
We look forward to this summer where we will have this new robust blockchain technology “Catapult” unleashed as one team, and as one ecosystem. By then we hope that this statement would be,behind us all, setting the stage for a brighter future for NEM, Dragonfly, Tech Bureau and its supporters.
