I understand more or less what proof of importance is. It takes into accounts the number of coins (similar to proof of stake)  but the importance part is unclear to me, how as a XEM holder would get importance to the network if I'm not sending XEM out to others, I mean I'm only buying XEM to my desktop wallet hehe. I have a brother, does that mean that if i send xem to him and he send xem back to me we would get more importance to the network? doesn't make sense.  my score is above 1.14%

All my harvested blocks are empty, just a few of them has some XEM. When is going the time when all the blocks contains a considerable amount of xem.

And I expect that when this happens, you wont need to worry about needing to run a supernode if  you have a high enough importance as the harvesting will be much greater with more transactions going through the network. Cheesy

When people start actually using it for something. Right now I assume the only movements are between wallets and back and forth to exchanges.

Sakura Internet Inc., Tech Bureau Corp., and Arara Inc., recently collaborated and performed extensive tests on the Catapult Blockchain solution. http://mijin.io/en/814.html via @mijin_io

Conclusion

The tests appear to meet the requirements as specified. There was no reported inconsistencies nor failure. The tests pass all requirements and the solution appears to be suitable for use commercially. The benchmark set was high at about 3,000 tps per second and the solution passed the test.

I'm loving reports like this. When independent companies are testing a solution and showing that it meets the specifications, you can be quite sure that it really does what it is supposed to do and that there is a good chance that it will be incorporated in their future plans.

As a non tech guy here, Will a private mijin chain be able to connect through the NEM public chain to another mijin private chain? or is that even possible.

As of my knowledge, mijin and nem can interact.

A lot of good news and yet price doesn't move. Need advertising. I think.

It did like 2400% in 2016 and it's already up 200% in 2017.  Roll Eyes

hey guys total newby here. let's say i have 100k nem(xem?). how much xem i get for harvesting let's say in one month?
i don't understand the delegating harvesting concept fully. i just "lend" my nem and DON'T have to run my wallet 24/7 as someone else is doing the harvesting for me and I just get the fees in the blocks?

thanks for the explanation

Full explanation is on below link:

https://blog.nem.io/how-local-and-delegated-harvesting-works/

In delegated harvesting, you still own your XEM, but you delegate the harvesting function to a remote node (can be your own supernode hosted in the cloud if you prefer).  You can power off your local wallet and still continue to harvest, and any harvest XEM will go into your local wallet.

If you can afford 3M XEM, a supernode is a better option to earn daily XEM.
