okay so i was finally able to start delegated harvesting by changing the remote server host in the settings.
i got some more questions. in the auto-boot what node name do i put? also, how can i do local harvesting while doing delegated harvesting? thanks all

you can put any name you like. im not sure if you can activate delegated harvesting in the GUI and then start local harvesting, but what you can do is activate delegated harvesting, and then get the delegated key and set its private key as the boot key for your local nis in the config files and set autostart harvesting to true.(<- not sure of the exact name of the config property for that). that way it should start harvesting as soon as nis is up and running using your delegated account.

thanks. where can i find the delegated key? and where do i set its private key for my local nis? can you please give me a link to a tutorial for this? thanks again

NEM Supernode Rewards has begun its next stage.  We are automatically sending out messages to nodes that passed.  If all goes well, those message will soon be accompanied with XEM. http://supernodes.nem.io/

Great news. Thanks.

Ah nice. Hommasan is one of the Japanese Blockchain enthusiasts I trust the most. He has a good reputation. He also has a big following of bitcoiners (like A LOT of the important blockchain people in Japan) following him. That might have actually been the most read NEM tweet ever.

NEM ....best currency distribution ever ...!!!!!!!
It seems the dumpers are expecting BTC to rise above 450$ soon. They are not aware of the weird nature of NEM value. Unlike other cryptos, NEM usually rises with BTC with even a higher rate. I am not quite sure why such behavior usually happens with NEM but anyways its a fact.

I'm actually happy the price is staying at this level.
So long as it stays this way, I'll continue to accumulate more XEM as i genuinely believe this is a good long term investment.

Wise !!!!!   progress with various projects within NEM is being made while we speak......in a couple of days there should be an announcement from one in particular that has made significant progress...  Smiley

One more question/summary;

Let's say I run the standalone version of nem 24/7 and is up and running synchronized etc. I don't import any wallet in it.
I put the delegated harvesting key in the config using autoboot;

Should I click at 'Start local harvesting' within the client? Or is that not necessary?

If you have nis.shouldAutoHarvestOnBoot = true then it should start harvesting automatically, so there is no need for starting local harvesting manually.
