mining is so 2012-2013
Being listed on Azure alone should have affected any marketcaps although a few platforms greatly benefited.

There is a chance NEM will be on Azure. That might help NEM to be tested more and then organizations build on NEM.  Real work adoption is the goal and that's where a real marketcap is born.

NEM doesn't need Microsoft, but Microsoft will need NEM  Cool Grin

I dont know if its a big deal with Azure either, i would probably stay on the side of caution and see how it plays out with the rest.

Dont think Azure is that big a deal, when a token like IOTA can get on it before it even launches and is functioning, doesnt really say much.

More important is real world companies adopting and using your platform ...

And when Ethereum got on Azure on Nov 9 2015, there was no change in ETH price.

Nobody claimed that is easy. You are right, Supernet is around for almost 2 years now but there is good progress. Most of this stuff is not discussed on public board like this but on Slack channels. i follow those and see promising progress.

This is only an issue for people which doing day trading. If you want to buy coins for holding mid- and long-term then decentralized exchanges are the best option and future. There are some projects ongoing which want to create a complete decentralized exchange market like InstantDex for SuperNet platform. But as far as I know, non of those are considering to add NEM from the beginning on.

Is there a decentralized exchange that uses Xem, or will the team build on in the future? You can't trust any exchange nowadays Smiley
What do you think of this https://etherex.org/
Decentralised exchanges are not real time. That is a problem.

Supernet has been like almost 2 years and still not going anywhere.  Don't think it is so easy to solve. Easier said than done.

Once If NEM gets onto Azure, adoption should proliferate exponentially as it will be one of the best platforms in Azure.

FTFY

Depends on if Azure knows about NEM and think it's a valuable addition and can do things other platforms can't. As far as I know there haven't been any indicitations of Azure adding NEM.

Yeah...see people don't actually know how azure and the listing on azure works. All these "partnerships" we've seen lately ? Not as big a deal as people think. But people tend to not do their homework around here so I guess I shouldn't be suprised it created so much buzz for those platforms.
Any blockchain solution - and I do mean any - can get listed on azure. It's merely a matter of setting it up correctly so that microsoft approves. I'd be quite suprised if they outright rejected NEM but we'll see.

How long has NEM been waiting for an answer?

Still setting things up. The process isn't that complicated but it's should be as seamless as possible so it'll take a bit longer i think. I have no idea how long it'll take once the pull request is made.

Not sure if it's a good idea. Have you seen this article http://bitcoinist.net/microsoft-bullies-open-source-is-the-blockchain-their-next-target/
Then, NEM has not fallen prey to Microsoft's plot yet.
Or, narrowly escaped from falling prey to MS's plot.  Smiley

interesting, so this might be a a buyout to centralize the blockchain

The bitcoin crises continues, bodes well for platforms like NEM

It is an irony though that there was consensus that the bitcoin initiative spawned decentralisation, something they said was what mattered. It is decentralisation itself that is killing Bitcoin, and I maintain that it will kill all altcoins too, if not managed well; my prediction from some 6 years ago, always ridiculed of course. Welcome to reality.

Are there any easy-to-read charts about transaction volume and blockchain size (in Bytes, not blocks) for NEM?

I've found only ordinary block explorers until now, but was looking for something like this: https://blockchain.info/charts/n-transactions

The reason is that I would like to analyze the efficiency of the PoI system and if PoI affects scalability.

ETH hit 1 billion dollar market cap.
ETH may catch up with BTC.
NEM will surely catch up with ETH. Smiley

http://blockexplore.in is not working for (more than) week. Any reason for that ? Or any similar great service/webpages for our great coin? Wink Thanks!

Try this:
http://chain.nem.ninja

Bye Wink

Of course I know http://chain.nem.ninja and of course it's beautiful as well Wink. But I see two disadvantages compares to blockexplore.in :

1) There's no rich (sort by balance) list of accounts (or maybe I'm just blind?).

2) Probably because it's fully JS covered, it's not possible to read output in standard unix/linux environment (links/lynx/wget) ...

Anyway, is there some easy API call into NIS, which would have the same/similar functionality (e.g. sort accounts by [vested] balance, etc.) ... ?

Thanks in advance!
