Hello friends,

I presently have the windows 0.6.43-BETA version wallet for XEM and would like to upgrade to the current release.
Please advise.

Thank you.

Always make sure you have your private key(s) backed up.  I suggest at least a paper copy and some kind of digital form.  Having a back up of your wallet is nice too.

There seems to be lots of problems for some people here and there upgrading, but lots of people upgrade without any problems.

So in theory you should be okay, when upgrading, just get the new version from http://nem.io/install.html and install.  If you have problems opening your wallet, you can look at these tutorials.  http://blog.nem.io/nem-tutorial-list/  The ones under the Misc section are good for trouble shooting.

Thanks jabo38.  I installed nemwallet 0.6.72 and the installation seemed to go smoothly.  The icon on my computer indicates that NIS is running (local node not booted) and NCC is running.
The nemwallet 0.6.72 face page (NEM community client) where I would insert my password to open is blank and I can't figure out how to bring the wallet up.
I checked the tutorials but no luck  Can you direct me in the right direction.
Many thanks.

Hoping to hear some good news soon

If you can read Japanese, Google translate is horrible ... Smiley

Another Mijin partnership with okwave.jp, huge web portal.

Seems okwave is testing the blockchain for login authentication.

If someone who reads japanese can sum up those press releases would be nice.

Yes, OKwave is really a huge company here.

here I am experimenting with ligthwallet, all work fine - all functions are available in full and is not observed any failures, but there has been no new translations
I have a few questions for security - was taken an account that is already stored coins when creating lightwallet requested privat key, password from the main account and the name will this or can this information in a secure store and you will not get if especially with regards to the privat key? now with regards to the proposed nodes , but also provided in a further node not a developer?
thank you

NEM devs are always concerned about security.  NEM has many security features that no other chain has.  In fact the Lightwallet itself is a security feature.  NEM has two-tiered architecture designed in it from day 1 that this is taking advantage of.  Cheesy
thanks, correctly realizing and making the conclusion - the password privat key remain on the computer, but not uploaded to the server, thanks again

Hi, just installed thin new version. Can somebody explain what this mean

Owned Mosaics
Displaying 1 Owned Mosaics
Mosaic    Quantity
nem:xem    3969956865

NEM is the first of many mosaics.  Soon others will be able to create their own tokens.  The hard fork is coming around the end of this month.

I'm sorry but noone will be able to decipher this. Please use google translate.

I think the last part is about wether there will be nodes that aren't by developers ?
The answer is yes. Any NIS serves the lightwallet. However people could adapt the code of the lightwallet in order to steal your info so you should only use a NIS that you trust.

No Problem Smiley

I first thought "hmm how to get the new generated private Key from the lightwallet" ...
But the Key is the Brainwallet Password - good to know Cheesy

Here are a few of the ninja nodes supported by devs.

http://san.ninja:7777/ - San - Canada
http://hachi.nem.ninja:7777/ - Hachi - Canada
http://nijuichi.nem.ninja:7777/ - Nijuichi - France
http://jusan.nem.ninja:7777/ - Jusan – France
http://go.nem.ninja:7777/ - Go - France

I consider this the first ever decentralized lightwallet/webwallet in that you can now transact on so many different NIS!  Congrats to the devs.

The brainwallet (or private key wallet) can be recreated on any any of these webpages.   Your information connected to each of these will only be stored on your machine locally as well as all transactions will be prepared and signed locally.  You only need trust that these servers are running proper versions of NEM that haven't been tampered with.

If you are connecting to one of these servers and it goes down or isn't supported, then you can use the passphrase to get into that account on a different server no problem.

But it should be clear that the passphrase isn't your private key, it is a deterministic seed from which your private key is created and can be recreated.

This is version one of the Lightwallet so it is still being developed to look better and work with more functionality.  It is very excited to see these most core functions enabled and working though!

Congrats to Gimre for working so hard on this and making it work.
