I think that both ethereum and neo are great for long-term investment. They have quite simiar technology and they have shown some remarkable progress. I think these coins are not rivals but partners.
I believe that Neo will replace ethereum in the future, maybe not now, but in several years this can be totally possible. Neo is a very capable platform and it surely can show tremendous amount of growth in the future.

Among all the crypto-currencies, the main reason for the rise and fall is competition. It is possible that the Neo purse can compete with the ETH, because of the cheapness of use, I think companies will quietly switch to the Chinese market, but 200-300 $ is hard cap Neo.
NEO is so promising alternative cryptocurrency that it looks like ETH has a strong rival. But despite on NEO's predictions I will choose ETH again because of it stability.
