Prices have come down here, Asus GeForce RTX 3070 TUF Gaming is "only" 1059 eur or 1282 usd. Still too much though to even consider, but feels like we are at the end of this cryptomining boom, cards are in stock again and prices have started to drop just a tiny bit. Perhaps at the end of summer we are looking at sane prices. Just hoping though. lol.

My local store got  50+ 3070's more than a week ago and they are still in stock. Was it supposed to be possible to tell from packaging if they are nerfed? Curious how they have not sold out yet.
The latest rtx cards are mostly nerfed. Most of them are the LHR version, at least according to online news. But there's a trick to solve that problem, check out on Twitter or other hardware forum.

Regardless of whether they're nerfed or not, I also think buying new cards right now are not worth it. Maybe you can hunt prebuilt and use the parts, but most of those OEM parts have a terrible cooler. Well, it's your call now.

In my country, RTX 3070 are on sale for $ 2100 now. I think this is not a very good buy.
Over the past week, you can easily buy any models of video cards in stores, except for the RTX 3070ti and RTX 3080ti.
But for such prices, miners and gamers will not buy them.
Maybe the price will drop after the London hard fork

Sorry for delay to answer.

Okay I picked up the omen at best buy on tuesday.

It is a very nice pc now sold out.

The 3060ti is small compact 2 fan with a customs back mount 8pin plug.

I pulled the card and hooked it up to a new smos build.

It works fine 59 mh at 120 watts fairly cool with fans at 75%

it is like the nvidia model fe

the dell alienware came yesterday and I blew out my back moving them around as they are heavy boxes with a weird shape.

they are also like nvidia model fe top mount 8pin jack light duty heat sink.

man I wish I could have picked up a dozen or so of these cards they are fine of course I now have three pcs without gpus.

I may part them out at my leisure.

I am waiting for the hp pavillion with a 3060ti.

I am 3 for 3 hoping to go 4 for 4.

At this point I wont be buying much gear.

I need to see the shake out of the nvidia nerf job.

It could be these cards will all get very valuable. If nividia nerfs hard.
amd has hardly any cards and eth stays pricey.

That is three ifs but I can afford to take the shot.

So far the omen builds crush the alien 👽 ware builds.
the omen30l are nice pcs. yeah there is some bloatware but thats okay.

grats!! good luck on the 4 out of 4!!

Man I wish I had a hundred or so of the 3060ti's when they came out back in 2020 a fortune was made by the right miners with the right connections.

they were listed are 400 you could have mined Nov to June 8 months  paid the card off 3 times and sell them for  2x the price right now.

They are so fucking costly here in the states.

Stop complaining mate, where I am they want over $2000 for these now. I guess we can do some scalping business Smiley

Prices are complete nuts.

even now??? 2k??? prices have started dropping

FWIW I came across some information that only non-original cards will have LHR chips, reference cards mady by Nvidia will have old GPU chips with no limitations. Haven't seen any proof to that though.

I read FE cards are exempt  but it was on an EVGA blog a regular poster so not sure that is good info.

The Alienware pc had an fe style 3060ti
The omen pc had an fe style 3060ti with a slight mod the pie jack was at the rear of the card not the top.

Congratulations on a good purchase.
I looked for similar computers in my country.
A system unit with a GeForce RTX 3060 video card costs $ 2,520.
With more powerful video cards computers are not available
https://www.mvideo.ru/products/sistemnyi-blok-igrovoi-hyperpc-lumen-ia10600-30056273/specification

I seen Evga 3070s i Australia for aud$1700 the other day in stock. About us$1,310. All other models have gone up to aud$2k+
You can still buy gpus without buying other stuff here.

Edit: just checked Evga sold out now but still Zotac for same price https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/graphics-cards/nvidia/85704-zt-a30700h-10p

Nothing is hotter than asus expedition gtx 1070 and palit gtx1060 dual. they run 72-78C with power limit 70. im so happy i sold them. i did thermal paste change pads but never got good results.
palit dual is one of the worst cooling systems on video cards. I had problems on 1080 and 2070 and other graphics cards.
I managed to return one video card under a guarantee with a refund of the amount paid, and on other models I attached 80x80 fans to the radiator.

philipma1957, keep us posted. I myself am afraid to buy new Nvidia video cards in stores.

back on point I am getting early shipping for my first alienware pc.

it is due on May 25.

I am hoping the 3060ti inside it is a good one and not nerfed.

I have a grand total of 4 pcs arriving with 4 3060tis that are supposedly all good since all were ordered well before the 18th of May.

2 alienware
1 hp omen
1 hp pavillion

I am a bit anxious as Four duds are possible. That would suck.

How did the delivery go? Its possible my area was pushed earlier and your location may get the nerfed cards a little later...

Perhaps I should go back to my roots then and only buy amd from now on Wink

Edit: oohhh, it does not concern the 3090 apparently, at least according to that statement.
I Agree. AMD has taken the opposite approach as Nvidia in their support of the mining community. While Nvidia is looking to demonize and alienate casual miners for Nvidia's shortcomings, AMD supports them. My Polaris RX 580's hashing at 31-32 MH/s @ 115W each make them just as relevant for mining today as they were in 2017 when they were released. When it became apparent there was an issue with the Polaris line up losing ~10% hashrate every month from the growing DAG file size, AMD quickly developed the blockchain drivers to address the issue before it escalated and continues to implement it in their current drivers with compute mode. Now that it's apparent that Nvidia's Pascal lineup from back then also has the same problem, nothing but crickets from Nvidia. My few Nvidia Pascal cards are no where near as efficient today as the Polaris cards despite pulling almost twice the power and running much hotter., so I have switched to all AMD cards. Many large mining farms that were started during the 2017 bull run still in operation are still using Polaris cards.

ive had the opportunity to see some really large farms and i was always surprised at how they were completely amd and i had to be the genius to buy nvidia... amd cards were running hot when i did initial tests but that was before i found out about oc's
the issue with amd however is with eth 2.0 comming they will become useless... whereas nvidias are still able to rely on other income streams...

Can someone provide an example of the LHR indicator on the packaging? I wanna know if the 3060 ti I ordered in january ever arrives so I can instantly send it back without opening it.

I haven't seen any examples on packaging yet but here is an article on Zotac and how it's slightly changing to indicate the new LHR 3060.

https://videocardz.com/newz/zotac-offically-launches-its-new-geforce-rtx-3060-series-lite-hash-rate-gpus

edit to add

https://videocardz.com/newz/galax-launches-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-and-rtx-3060-with-cryptomining-limiter

Has some pictures of the Chinese packaging.

There are NO differentiation on the packaging at this point in time. They did say they are goina be sneaky about it and so far they are using the old boxes. There is a slightly different serial number on the card. So if you buy new cards you will not know until u open the box up.

For cards being sold at retail that have a LHR and non-LHR varient the LHR 3060 Ti, 3070, 3080 etc. will definitely have a LHR indication on the product listings and packaging. The 3070 Ti and 3080 Ti will only be produced in LHR versions.
