Don't think this is true. Keiser just needs publicity.

Also "thinking about" is non-news.

ya.ya.yo!

True..it is non-news, but it still is good promotion for BTC.  Netflix hsa been one of the more popular companies as of late so it's always good to get some press from some large merchants.

Sounds quite interesting, at least if they do go for this you can explain to the Nay Sayers in life that Netflix now takes Bitcoin and they might accept it more, it always amuses me when I explain to work colleagues and their eyes glaze over.

lol this is why I don't post much on these forums anymore... not even one person realizing this is a fake tweet... I'll stick to reddit, and I thought reddit was a circlejerk

What do you mean by a fake tweet?

I think a yearly subscription would be the most logical route. At this point most people have given in to their Netflix overlord. If they asked for a year upfront with a little discount people would pay it.

While it may be possible that Netflix will eventually accept Bitcoin, it is unlikely for a very simple reason. Netflix depends on subscriptions and people paying every month whether they watch or not. People paying bitcoin would have to decide every month if they want to pay or not, and Netflix would lose subscribers every month.

One solution would be to sell 1-year subscriptions that could be refunded at any time. They might also accept bitcoin in areas where credit card fraud is high and where credit card usage is low.

I think eventually we'll see a system where you can create an address (user) that holds X amount of bitcoin and sends it periodically to another address (service/netflix) that acts just like a subscription / direct debit system.

or,

they'll use a pay as you play model?

I purchased a Netflix one year subscription form netflix4btc.com and it worked great.  I received my code in about 30 minutes, with clear instructions.  Redeeming it was quick and easy!

Thank you, I will be referring more people to you very soon.

I am glad to see you have your Netflix website back up and available.  I placed an order with you just now.  I look forward to this working, it will save me a lot on a year of Netflix.

I will post a review.

I'm sure they'll sell the memberships by yearly if they were going to deal with Bitcoin. Would be beneficial to them if people can't cancel one month as well, although I'm sceptical of there being in truth in this rumour.

Coinbase and Bitpay and their VC investors start rumors like this to pump up business. Max Keiser passes these rumors along because it is good for his business too.

Definitely speculation. No big news with a company thinking about doing something. If they roll it out, THAT will be news!

My real question is will this allow Netflix to offer better titles? ... Probably not

you mean you dont like the selection of movies that they have probably converted from vhs and laser disc?

Once bitcoin becomes more established and gets through some growing pains, all online services will accept bitcoin.  imo

I would not say "all". Never say all, as there will always at least be a few that will not adapt with changes. Most retailers will only accept it, if it increases profit for them. With that being said, I cannot think of any reason it would not increase profit for them. For one, lower processing fees than a credit card, but that will only impact the small percentage of users that will use BTC over their credit card. Secondly, I would easily say it brings in new customers.
