Do not quite understand what you are saying, maybe you still need to learn about the most elementary knowledge of the network.

Don't worry about it....

Networking isn't my thing.  I build and work on video games for a living as a developer and tester, so networking isn't what I do.  I'm also rather new to BitCoin, started mining during the boom, so I do not know all its inner workings but I'm learning!  With people like ChuckBuck, it's a lot less painful and cuts my research time drastically.  It's quite a gap from U1 to S1 so I have to learn, both a new type of miner but networking, which I am really bad at... so I can create more technologies off of the SHA256 technology!

I could build you a fully functional ruby game that would keep you busy for years in a week though...

BitCoin is the currency of the SHA256 technology, not just the internet.  Soon enough those big bulky ants are going to be in a BitCoin museum...  about next week or so Grin

Thanks to ChuckBuck to save the day, both machines are up and running and mining coins like good little ants.

I even shut off the heater.  This is going to be nice next winter lol

I'd like to thank everyone who helped out in any way, shape or form.  Now I know how to set up ants like a boss so I'll make a video next shipment because I'll get more, I love the white noise, I'm going to put a few in my room to help me sleep lol

I'm dead tired, need sleep lol

Thanks again to all who helped!

Problem was my network, once we connected on the modem directly, it worked like it never worked before!!  Literally  Cheesy

Could you set the DNS to 8.8.8.8 then Save & Apply to see if that takes?

If so, click on the System tab, then click on Reboot to see if the Ant still remains at 192.168.1.99 after it comes back up.

Wait, so your router/modem's gateway is 192.168.0.1, not 192.168.1.1 ?   Huh

Could you also post a screen shot of your WAN configuration from your Antminer, thanks.

Correct, the router I use as a hub, D-Link DIR-615, is set to default 192.168.0.1

I'm using the D-Link router to access LuCI, without it, I can barely get to the login screen, let alone dab around in the back end.  Router is what gets me to settings and such but once it's time to save, I mysteriously get disconnected.  It's slow but at least it works.

Trust me, I won't argue with you, tell me what you need lol

Here is the S1's WAN configuration:

Protocol: Static IP
IPv4: 192.168.1.99/24
IPv4: 192.168.1.99
MAC: 20:50:A0:B6:12:**
IPv4 Netmask: 255.255.255.0
IPv4 Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Broadcast: 192.168.1.255
Use Custom DNS Servers: 192.168.1.1

**Blacked out unless you really need it

Sorry I didn't get you a screen shot but you have no idea what I have go through to get a screen shot right now lol

I can go to put in my setting in miner configuration but when I save it, the miner times outs, disconnects me.

I've reset so many times I think I'm an expert at it now lol

-I've set me computer's IP to 192.168.1.25
-The miner's IP is 192.168.1.99

I don't get it because when I log into the router (192.168.0.1) there is no lag.  Shouldn't it be similarly fast as a wireless router to work locally?

The save & apply doesn't seem to work at all, that's where I lose connection.

I've disconnected one of my PSU wires and there was no difference.  I even tried putting on a free PSU on the other blade, all it did was make a green light on the secondary blade go on.

Could it simply be a case of crummy wires?

The miner didn't change IP on its own, it's still at .25

It's just I can't get the miner to accept/save any setting I give it.

I got Satoshi's avatar!
I suggest trying the ipscanner again, it sounds like your ant is changing ip addresses. It might be on a different ip.

Just based on the latest ipconfig /all, your laptop ethernet adapter is set to 192.168.1.25.

If you set the Antminer to this address, you will have an IP address conflict.

Make sure the Ant is plugged via ethernet cable to your modem/hub directly not to your laptop.

Factory reset the Antminer by holding the small button for 10 seconds or so.

This should put it in default config, and you should be able to navigate to 192.168.1.99 on a browser on your laptop to enter Antminer config.

After you're in config, enter your pool info IE stratum.btcguild.com:3333,

worker name, worker pass, and Save and Apply and it should start mining momentarily.

Hey Chuck, you asked the only question I was hoping you wouldn't ask lol

It wasn't easy considering one of my laptops has a pooched wifi card and this computer's over 20 years old lol

Quite a jump from a ThinkPad W530...  None the less...

I can now get to the page where you enter pool information but it never accepts it.

I'm trying to add Eligius, BTC Guild and BitMinter.

I can do pretty much everything else now other than do the save & apply function.  I keep getting hung up on.

Here's a shot of an ipconfig/all and it's all there it to it.  It's the only place there is anything other than zeroes.

So I left it be overnight, now I cannot log into the interface again.  Cry

I get the the page to enter the password and then I either time out or whatnot, connection is lost.

I keep trying and trying only to get the same message or get to the black screen then when I enter the password, boom, connection lost.

I've tried different ethernet cables.

Thing is, I think my computer has too many internet related settings so it could be conflicting somewhere.

I also don't have an IE browser which I think many were saying to use that one...  I just don't like it, too slow, too bulky.

The miner seems to be mining already, the fan is running fast/er and a decent amount of heat is coming out the end of it.

@Dogie - I'm not sending anything back, I ordered mine from the manufacturer directly.  If BitMain can't offer a working product out of the box and adequate level of service I will just write it off as a loss and throw it in the garbage and deal with another manufacturer who values my business.  Tis the second time I get screwed by BitMain in less than a month so I'm already not too happy with them.  I've more conviction to make it work, it's one thing with me, if something don't work, I'll keep hacking until it works.

I'll download IE then if that don't work I'll try using another, less busy computer to do set ups.

Also the lights on my laptop at the Ethernet card, the green is on but the orange flickers, which leads me to believe it's something with my computer and not the miner.  The one green light on the miner is always flashing...

Surely someone has had this issue before.  I don't think it's a miner issue as it is a local computer issue.

Could you post an ipconfig /all of your laptop?

Send it back to where you bought it, the firmware will need reflashing and its not something you can do at home.

I got it!  The interface it working now.

Looks like I needed to restart the miner.  It's going really slow right now, it's rather cold where I live so I'm gonna let it warm up, seems like it keep kicking me out of the interface, needs to get the cobs webs out, must have had some nasty @$$ spiders up in there.

Seems like the restart did it for me but who knows, when it comes to networking if something works for me, it's an absolute fluke lol

I'm getting better though!

I'll keep this going until my set up is up and running and I'll make a video in a day or so, been racking my head all day over this, now I know what to do.... namely, go to bed...  I think!  Roll Eyes

Saved my ass  Cheesy

As a thank you to the BitCoin community I'll use my equipment and plentiful time to make a nice video to cover:

-PSU Selection
-Hooking up the AntMiner
-Prepping the Network
-Configuration
-Action Jackson!

So if any questions ever arise, all you'll need is to give one link.  Just like number painting! =D

The screenshot of Settings, is that your network card?

Could you post an Ipconfig /all to see all your network adapters on your PC?

Do you have the Ant connected to the lan port of this modem directly by ethernet cable, or are you trying to configure the Ant wirelessly?

No, I am connected to the AntMiner via ethernet cable, it's in no way shape or form connected to any type of internet source yet.  My PC is connected to the miner and I use one a wireless connection to keep up to this thread and disable it to try things on the miner.  I've not yet had the miner online whatsoever yet, can't open the interface so I stopped there until I could figure things out.

Okay, open a command prompt on your PC, and type in ipconfig and hit enter.  Post your ipconfig here so we can determine what ip to set the Ant with.

Once you've posted your ipconfig here, download ip scanner to detect the Ant's current ip:

http://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/

Once we get the Ant's ip, we can determine whether we have to change your PC network settings to configure the Ant's settings.
