It's something like 7500 units online at the moment. Total max should be for this batch 11500.

We're fucked by shitmain! I feel their piss on my wounds and that fucking hurts!

For the price of this miner, $50 a day is pretty solid. You'd be hard pressed to put together a GPU miner for that price that could hit similar numbers. I mean surely you didn't expect the $600 / day rate to last very long, especially with how small the global hash rate was.
Agreed. However, I got my miner on Wednesday, which was still a "head start" compared to others and never ever remotely made those daily profits. Maybe $200 in the first 24 hours. When I turned mine on global hash-rate was 900TH or something in that ballpark.

Yea, got mine on Thursday. While i have been enjoying the past couple days, simple math showed it wouldn't last long. If batch 2 isn't released till march then we may have a good chance of a 30 day ROI. To drop to $45 we would need roughly 14K miners online which so far it seems like they didn't sell that many. So i think somewhere between $50 and $100 is our landing point until batch 2. Just pray that the Chinese new year delays it quite a bit.

I got my miner on Wednesday and the ROI is 30 days (excluding electricity) assuming it stays at $90/day, those who got the A3 sooner will have quicker ROI

Have theory that A3 was build on D3  and this is the reason some A3 (including mine) have problems with hash boards - appears/disappears, hashing/no hashing, all asics few only and then turning 0000 into xxxx...

Nothing is helping to solve: rebooting, restarting, resetting, plugging / unplugging, each by one, separately, adding two AWP++ , changing controller cables 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4  Even flashing ( thank you blissz) - NOTHING

But funny my D3 with A3 firmware turns into A3 miner, even connects to the SIA pool, but not hashing and after moment all asics turns xxxx

This suggest than  sia network or "brick attack" on 24th is not the real problem. The real is that bitmain cleaned D3 stock transforming them into A3 thought

____  NOW the funny moment. If/when somebody finds out hot to avoid that wall  to make D3 (with A3 firmware) hashing on SIA network.... Smiley  ....... ALL D3 would finally be able to deliver ROI

Actually been working this angle, have a pretty good idea of what makes a miner a D3 or and A3, but i need a D3 to test or someone with a D3 to send me some data to try to turn my A3 into a D3.

There's pretty good reasons for bitmain to do something like this if they could. It would massively increase profits for them to have a ASIC chip that could be re-seeded to different algos.

Also if you want to dump firmware the bitmain way...

nanddump -f /initramfs.bin.SD /dev/mtd8
nanddump -f /am335x-boneblack-bitmainer.dtb /dev/mtd6
nanddump -f /uImage.bin /dev/mtd7
nanddump -f /u-boot.img /dev/mtd4

You'll have to hex edit those files afterwards and remove the trailing FF's to make them exactly like bitmain sends them out.

Anyone know of any other coin other than Sia that uses Blake 2 (or if any new ones using Blake 2 are planned)?

Shocked Shocked Shocked Angry Cry Cry Cry Profitability dropping like a ROCK!!!

Where will it end?  $50 per day?

Probably will settle circa $50-60 within next 3-4 days. Assuming no new delivery. If not $15-$25 is plausible within 7 days time frame.
to have 20$ diff has to triple

Hi!

About electric/power usage: (APW3+)
Default 600 MHz, 820 GH, 1300W, 230VAC, 67C
644 MHz, 875 GH, 1400W, 230VAC, 70C
668 MHz, 920GH, 1470W, 230VAC, 75C

Amps, 1500W/230VAC ~> 6,5Ampere
Amps, 1500W/120VAC ~> 12,5Ampere

Bye, FNT

Thanks for sharing, did you try underclocking ? Or has anyone done this ? I would like to know what would the power usage if we underclock to 525/550/575 etc. Thanks.

D3 has like a 19 GH/s hashrate?

 Huh Huh Huh

Why would anyone want to mine "siacoin" with only a 19 Gh/s if they manage to convert the d3 to be able to mine it? Seems like you'd make next to nothing

A3 Owners, we are so screwed! Look how fast the profit goes down ... it's like almost diving by half....

we will hit the ROI in about 6 months , as dragonmint and obelisks will come to the network we have the similar D3 story on our hands! And this is a first batch....

We do still have hope for @blissz to create a custom FW which could mine the other algos and if it would be possible for D3's to mine a siacoin that would be a dream I want to live but looking back to earth make's me feel terrible!

I pray for @blissz! Let's all pray together!

Happy mining!
The A3 was made to mine the Blake2b algorithm and only the Blake2b algo. There's no way you can actually make the miner hash another algo unless you somehow changed the chips on it. It's an ASIC, not an FPGA. If it were the latter it might be possible, but the A3 is an ASIC. The best blissz could do is probably something similar to the D3 firmware or some improvements on it.

A dream for you and a nightmare for us. I pray the hundred thousands of D3 never leech into my Sia profits.

How many of you guys are having problems with the the A3 chains?

In one of my A3s two of the chains are not working and in the other A3 on chain isn't working either.  Huh

How hot are you allowing them to run?
Man, you're the only one in here that understands what is going on with these units. 600 Frequency is jacked. These miners are OVERCLOCKED already. Now we got people that have no idea what they are doing, running these beasts on 120v circuits with inadequate PSU's and overclocking them. There is reports of meters showing 1400 watt pulls at the wall. Big amperage too.  I'm running a couple and I know a bit about electricity. Not as much as you, but I know enough to know that these guys are playing with fire. Literally. If your breakers and wiring aren't extremely robust, you very may well end up with a tragic situation on your hands. These things are heating up my 12 gauge wire with new 20 amp 240 v breakers. If you do this with a bad or malfunctioning breaker, your breaker box is going up in flames. Maybe your house with it. Please think about what you are doing and do some serious research. These are COMMERCAIL miners that are running at Redline at the factory setting. This shit is NO JOKE! That's all I'll say. Good luck.

Nope many A3 came 1 or 2 hashboard dead.So these people including myself know about warranty condisions, I guess they don't over clock their A3s.Because it is broken form beginning .

Mine, 200V input and AWP++1600W normal clock.
So, PCB temp is 58C and 62C .

This is mostly BITMAIN issue. They send malfunctioning machine.
Not user's.
So it is simple, we just have to wait the BITMAIN do something.
Better make repair ticket. And leave messages with GUI system & miner config picture.

so
These are two separate issues. I understand Bitmain sends faulty units. I was addressing the rampant lunacy of the users jacking their frequencies. I'm willing to bet that 90% of the guys Overclocking these units don't even own a Amp/Watt/Voltage tester.
