The shit storms nearing us. I have 7.5gh in eth mining and 2.5 gh in etc mining.

I am hoping EthW goes on exchanges I use and mining pools I use.

coinex
coinbase
binance.us

viabtc.com mining

I will move more from my eth mining this weekend.

If you buy a Kebab Shop in New york City for 32 ETH ($50 000) and use it to launder money, the FBI will shut it down and take your investment. Tornado cash is an illegal Coin that is running on the Ethereum Smart contract network, a stake validator is indirectly supporting this illegal activity by validating and profiting on these transactions.

While I truly support decentralized mining (best achieved with gpus) I am absolutely DISGUSTED by the ETHW or eg. DCRN project.

Etheremine announced today that their staking pool will be without US citizens. The new POS network will move away from US servers because the POS holders are financing the biggest money laundering network in the world and their funds can be confiscated. Ethereum 2.0 will become a Tornado POS network owned and run from Russia, Iran and North Korea.

The law is simple.

Stablecoins will have to leave the network because all of the validators are banned from the US.

That's why we need ETHW and POW mining. A safe, legal and secure place for the stablecoins.

I guess I will load an eth wallet up at badbart what wallet do you use for eth.

I don't want an exchange.

So what can I load to a Mac OS that has 800gb space on the hdd?

Exodus? any good

Try MyCrypto

This is a good and safe wallet. It is non-custodial and compatible with your Trezor Hardware Wallet. And it takes up little space on your computer.
Make a temporary wallet for a snapshot of the blockchain, and then transfer your Ethereum to Trezor.

ETHW was solely created by ethash asic mining farm / asic manufacturer who don't want their "business" taken away from them.

They recently did the same with Decred because Decred changed their distribution model from 60% / 30% / 10% to 10% / 80% / 10%
PoW / PoS / treasury.
The Decred project changed the distribution because they realized that their mining was very centralized due to an asic monopol.

In order for asic farm/manufacturer to continue their blake 256 machines (you could hardly every buy ones) they forked Decred (DCR) to Decred Next (DCRN).

While I truly support decentralized mining (best achieved with gpus) I am absolutely DISGUSTED by the ETHW or eg. DCRN project.

This isn't a new home for miners at all and sadly ETC hasn't realized that "issue".

I wish for a future for gpu miners (way higher decentralization than asics), so please don't fall for the ETHW or similar traps.

Up to now ETC has not solved anything, the difficulty of the network has increased about 80% from the levels of before ETH announcement to PoS but the price hasn't moved upwards like the difficulty did.It looks like very difficult days lie ahead for miners during the winter because of crypto prices being down and the energy crisis that has hit almost all of Europe. No simple solution available for all of us,we are all in wait and see mode, the only thing I don't understand is why haven't GPU prices crashed really big during such phase, most likely they will do in October and after.

So I have a trezor do I move my 1 eth from coinbase to a trezor or must I load eth blockchain to be sure I get all forks.

I have a lot of pc's so loading an eth blockchain for forks is easy enough.

obviously moving to the trezor is less work.

advice on where to move the single eth I am holding would be nice to get it.

why not move to a wallet were you can see the key?

Use a trusted exchange like Binance to get the fork unless you don't see loading up the blockchain as an extra workload, for me its another headache entirely, I am not ready for that, Binance and many other popular exchanges already announced that they will support the fork.

What will the initial DAG size be?
If there is no other news, then the size of the dag file will be unchanged.
https://minerstat.com/dag-size-calculator

My understand is, sp_ will do his own fork, not this one we're calling ETHW.

There could be more than one fork. But the ETHW future will give you the most profitable fork when Ethereum gos POS, and perhaps more bonus coins.. The future value of your Ethereum is in your private key, and not in the co founder and his team of lamers.
If I were to make a new fork of ethereum, then it should be launched immediately after the end of ethereum mining. If it is launched later, then this will cause a negative, and it is not clear what data you will use from the moment the mining ends until the day the fork starts.

BCH was the only fork I get (sold everything) but I lost another opportunities
And I remember BCH price was very volatile in the beginning (I sold as soon as I get  Cheesy)

Yes that is the mistake that many people make with forks and airdrops.

Normally when people get free coins, the first thing they do is sell them, at any price. However who is buying these coins? Obviously its some whales that will later pump the coin and then later they will start a FOMO which will cause the coin to peak and then head downwards.

Most likely it'll be the same scenario with ETHPOW.

Make sure you move all your assets out of the tokens and back to the blockchain before the Merge.

This is extreme important to remember: to move ETH to ERC20 network
I have some ETH, not too much, on the Polygon network and if I forget, I'll miss the oportunity to have both coins

I think some people will not claim the fork due to this, there is ETH on Polygon, Ronin and lot of anothers layers/chains

...Who knows might even peak at 0.10 EtHW per ETH like BCH.

Yes the futures are around $50 or so. If you treat this merge as an air drop then I am pretty sure what will happen will be as follows,

1) ETH POW goes live and trades around $50 and heads downward. Will trade in this trajectory for a few days or weeks.

2) Will go to $10 or so and people will call it dead.

3) Then it starts to rise, starts to pump and eventually it’ll break $50 and head to $100 or $200 or higher. Who knows might even peak at 0.10 EtHW per ETH like BCH.

I think unless they can get Nicehash and Binance or Coinbase onboard, they're going to have a difficult time keeping the price elevated to the point where miners will want to mine it.  No doubt opportunities will present themselves though.  I am curious if the ETH I have locked on Coinbase is going to get me some ETH_PoW or not.

Ethermine, flexpool and hiveonpool have already announced that they will not support Ethereum POW.

Binance is adding support as we speak...

sp_, I remember you wrote that you will make your fork of Ethereum on the POW algorithm. Are you on the team of the new EthereumPoW fork or will you also be doing your own fork? I may not have read all of your posts, so I'm interested in getting an answer to this question.

FP91G I think you are referring to this post: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.60688091
I'm also curious and anxious to see more about this fork. I noted you post about the sp_fork on your thread.

My understand is, sp_ will do his own fork, not this one we're calling ETHW.

I don't know about the possibility, but sp_ you could do a thread here showing how you do a fork, specially with ETH, I'm sure will be awesome.
