sp_, I remember you wrote that you will make your fork of Ethereum on the POW algorithm. Are you on the team of the new EthereumPoW fork or will you also be doing your own fork? I may not have read all of your posts, so I'm interested in getting an answer to this question.

Will Eth-POW end up on viabtc mining pools?

And coinex exchange

I'm sorry but i don't understand is a fork of eth? Or a whole new altcoin? What exchange is it on anyway? Is it easier to mine than eth?

What's the difference between ETH and ETHW?
Is it a fork?
And will there be two currencies after the Merge will take place?

It is a fork that not yet has happened. (ETHW will fork around 15 september)

Ethereum POW and ETHW is the same thing.
The sourcecode has removed the difficulty bomb, removed POS code, removed some of the stablecoin adresses/ tornado cash adresses/ and hacked accounts. Implemented replay protection to make sure the new blockchain can co-exist with the original Ethereum.
The work is still in process, and more will be added.

If you have ethereum on any of the supported exchanges at the forking date, you will receive the same amount of ETHW(Eth POW) as ETH. Ethereum owners who have locked their funds in the staking pool will not receive coins in the new POW fork. This meens that the Ethereum POW will have 15-20% less coins than the original Ethereum.

Twitter:
https://mobile.twitter.com/ethereumpow
Sourcecode Github:
https://github.com/ethereumpow/

Supported Exchanges (25.08.2022)

Poloniex: https://poloniex.com/spot/ETHW_USDT
Gate: https://www.gate.io/ru/trade/ethw_usdt
Mexc: https://www.mexc.com/exchange/ETHW_USDT
Phemex: https://phemex.com/spot/trade/ETHWUSDT
Bitrue: https://www.bitrue.com/trade/ethw_usdt
Digifinex: https://www.digifinex.com/en-ww/trade/USDT/ETHW
CoinW: https://www.coinw.com/front/fastTrading?symbol=1027
Bitfinex: https://trading.bitfinex.com/t/ETHW:USD

When buying ETHW futures you will receive the same amount ETH POW after the fork on the 15th of september.

Binance announced today that they will add support for Ethereum Pow. (Largest exchange in the world)

Binance announced today that they will support the ETH POW fork.

With the current price of $50 for the futures, we can expect the network to start at more than 50THASH of Ethash and become the largest gpu minable coin in the world. The price is volatile and is trading at $50-200. (50-200THASH estimated network hashrate).

An estimated 2.5%-10% of the total ethereum hashrate will move to Ethereum POW after ETH goes POS.  At 150-200THASH the Etherum POW hashrate will be the same as Ethereum had in in the summer of 2020. This hashrate is expected to increase as more investors, developers, traders and miners move away from the declining POS chain.

Ethereum POS? Is that the new name? Or the ETH Pow will be called Ethereum? You are confusing me brother, if you sell one Ethereum you will be able to buy 34 ETH Pow, I believe that's what you meant to post? Correct me if I am wrong.

Yes.

After the Merge the blockchain will split in two giving you bonus coins (Ethereum POW).

You will only receive bonus coins if you own Ethereum at the point of the merge. (15% of the supply is locked in the staking pool and will be deleted in the new POW fork). Make sure that your wallet support ETH POW or move your coins to a wallet where you have access to the private keys.

After 15 september:
POS (ethereum coin) ($1700 a coin) (Will be supported by those who believe in POS)
POW (ethereum coin) ($50 a coin)  (Will be supported by those who believe in POW)

Ethereum POW Coins can already be traded on 9 exchanges with a 1:34 difference in the price at 1 MUSD volume per day. (Futures)

If the price holds, ETHW looks to be the largest gpu minable coin in the world after the fork.

ETC  $36.82 ( 43.94 TH/s)
ETHW $50  ( 52.44 TH/s estimate)

If you sell 1 Ethereum POS you can buy 34 Ethereum.

The daily miner reward will still be the same but 10x more hashrate, so in the end you get 10% of your previous profits.

But the price of the other alts can go 10x.. etc has already doubled.
I don't think you're considering proportions.
If the price of Ethereum Classic, Ergo and Raven Coin grows 10 times, then at least half of the miners will have to stop mining, because it will be unprofitable. But who will buy these coins?

Yes you will start mining Ravencoin and so will hundreds of thousands of other people. The daily miner reward will still be the same but 10x more hashrate, so in the end you get 10% of your previous profits.

Nobody seems to understand this. Everybody is saying “it’s ok if ETH goes POS there are so many other coins out there”. They don’t realize most aren’t mineable and those that are the profits are very little.

I have a feeling that many miners are waiting and seeing how the profits are when merge happens. Many people probably have no idea what the merge is and others go on a profit calculator site and see that ETC currently makes almost as much as ETH and they think it will be the same after the merge.

Similar to what happened with people with Bitcoin ASICs when the halving happened. Most had no idea why their profits were cut in half.
At this point I will have to start mining Ravencoin even if it's not profitable, I've made over 60% of my rigs so I don't mind making back the rest on a long journey into the next bull run.

Finally we got a confirmed block number for the merge (can’t remember what it is) but it’s going to be on sept 15-16 most likely. So after being launched in 2015 and had a predicted POS of Sumner 2016, it is finally here only 6 years too late. Talk about not meeting deadlines.

Wonder how many people are going to try and offload their GPUs prior to that date. With a little over a month of mining left miners need to decide whether to sell at a decent price now or see how much profits they get on ETC and then decide whether to sell or not.
Now it's too late to sell video cards. There is no demand and prices are minimal. When the miner paid off his video cards, then he is not so worried about it. I want to buy 5600 xt for $300, but so far the miners are offering me more. I like the consumption of this video card.

The Manifesto of Proof-of-Work: An Open Letter to the Ethereum Community

cancellation of EIP-1559

EIP-1559 was an attempt to create a bullish narrative at the expense of the miners. As one of the most important pillars of any Proof-of-Work (PoW) network, miners naturally are a political force and should wield some political power and influence,

Hmm looks like a good investment than mining if there will be panic sell like that of Bitcoin Cash back I'm those days, I will rather buy then than mine right now, I will keep mining Ethereum for now.

Yes it seems that the large derivative exchange Bitmex has already launched ETHPOW futures and they are currently trading at $70. The spread between the Sept futures and spot price is around $40-50 currently so you have a general idea of how much it will be worth.

I think there will be a big dump at first, trade sideways, then maybe go lower , make people think it’s a dead project and then boom. This is exactly how the Bitcoin cash fork went. Went to like $200-300 and traded downward because people assumed it was dead and then a month later it exploded higher.

Welcome to EthereumPoW
The original Proof of Work Ethereum initiated in July 2022, developed and run by community, the technology that powers the cryptocurrency ETHW and thousands of decentralized applications.

So its real? I just made a topic on this because its in IOU not the real thing, how come a fork existed before the merge actually happens or there is going to be a swap of this IOU for the real coins? Sigh, crypto space with too much drama.
These futures are already traded on some exchanges. News about this coin is getting popular.

I plan to only mine this coin and immediately sell if it is profitable. I am not involved in trading.
