Well Bitcointalk has a lot of room for improvement. It definitely needs a mobile friendly version.
There is no need to waste time and money to make a mobile friendly version of Bitcointalk.org in its current state. The reasoning behind this is that the forum is just around the corner. While we are not likely going to see it before 2016, waiting 4-6 months isn't really a lot of time. I'm assuming that the new forum is going to have a friendly(or friendlier) mobile version. One can track the development of the forum and it is going to be a huge improvement in comparison to SMF.

Bitcointalk is slow on mobile devices, it is also annoying to browse. Bitcointalk will have more users if they made a mobile version. This would positively impact the bitcoin community.

Bitcointalk NEEDS a mobile version.

Agree or it should be made available on TapaTalk or similar

Bitcointalk NEEDS a mobile version.

IMHO, just like how you get used to the forum design, I've gotten used to the mobile feeling of the website. It's not the most mobile-friendly website there is but it does its job.

But I think they're adding a mobile-friendly version...possibly.

Unfortunately, with recent events here, I highly doubt we will see a new forum in the near future.  Undecided

How are the two events relatable? Surely we need a new forum more than ever now, or at least to make sure it is going to be as safe as possible. The forum will be here when it's ready and fully functional and not before so it's utterly futile speculating or asking when it's going to be ready every day of the month.

I think we need to wait another 1-2 years for this.

I sure hope not. I've been waiting for the new forum since I joined Bitcointalk.org in 2014. I hope that they will implement alot of new patches to this software for its completely outdated for the times. We've been waiting to long now! Bring on the new forum already!

when is this forum going to be coming out?
The last I heard it should be released "early 2015" although we are already past that. I believe most/some of the code is available on github so it is a good ways there now.

If I were to guess then I would say it will probably be available for everyone to use as bitcointalk around 4-6 months from now or so (although I have zero inside knowledge about the progress)

Now I think the forum will be released very soon due these previous attacks, but something make me thing that the new one will be attacked more than the actual  Roll Eyes (it is only a sensation).

when the new forum software will be ready, all the current accounts will be transferred to the new forum or we have to register again?

The entire DB will be transferred >> new forum software, the unique thing that 'we' should do is : change the pass (using the email address, or in another way).

the wait is not a real problem. how about the status of accounts?
newbie, member, full member, hero, legendary amongst others??
will the account be implemented directly or everybody will restart as a newbie???

It has been answered many times. Everything(status, trust feedback/rating, posts, threads etc...) except password will be moved to Epochtalk. Passwords might also be moved but there is no confirmation on it.

They should, how are we gonna login to our accounts when we move then?

Most probably the slickage team will create a sort of confirmation email, and it will send to the actual email address... after we can recover the password. They will not transfer the hash of al the password, because it is more easy to recover/create new password through the reset email.
