YES!  Grin
my i0coin logos are being used as the icon of the client now!
Waited for so long, and now its arrived.

Hopefully it gets put to good use as now it represents i0coin currency!

I'm sorry but a logo will not make a crypto currency a success.

Also keep in mind that the proof of work for I0coin is the same as Bitcoin's, hence it can be merge mined.

This means that for free anyone who is mining bitcoins can create I0coins for FREE....ultimately making them worthless in the scheme of things because as a miner it is a free bi-product and who wouldn't want to sell the free bi-product if it cost them NOTHING to create.

Just my two crypto-currency cents.... Grin Grin Grin

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

I just commited the patch to enable BIP16 & BIP30 on Mon, 01 Oct 2012 00:00:00 GMT, that is a plenty of time to make sure that all the miners and clients upgrade to the new client & daemon before the changes on the protocol get implemented.
Also, here is a compiled windows executable of the latest i0coin client:

Tough crowd.  I am on BTC-E, Vircurex, Mtgox, bitparking/nmc, glbse, but still not enough to keep me busy.

What, you're not running an Open Transactions client yet?!?! Smiley

If anything just make the BIP16 and BIP30 fixes activate at a later date to give miners time to upgrade.

Yes, that is what i'm gonna do Smiley

I don't think you want to backout the BIP16 and BIP30 fixes.  They make the block chain safer against attacks.  Plus you'd have to back them out every time the I0coin client is upgraded.  Might as well incorporate them now (by leaving them in) rather than later.  Miners will need to upgrade if they start having problems with too many orphans.

Hey CC, is there any chance of you re-opening the i0coin exchange on Bitparking?
With https://vircurex.com/ operating I don't think there's any need for it given the low level of use of i0coin at the moment. If it started getting used for other things I might get tempted.

Would it be hard for you to start a Fairbrix exchange??? I miss FBX.

I'm sure you miss it because you probably hold about 100k FBX to take a DUMP on the exchange lol

nope I don't have any, I just like trading weird coins.

One more thing..."trading" can mean SELLING and only SELLING.... Grin

I forked the main bitcoin repo and made all the changes that are needed for the i0coin chain, i tested it generating a few transactions and even using the same blockchain that were downloaded with the old client and zero problems Smiley
Did you backout the changes that result in blockchain forks? The BIP16 and BIP30 stuff? Or change the dates when these activate? If not, the majority of miners will need to be using your client, or problems may occur (anyone being able to redeem BIP16 transactions, working on an orphaned fork, etc).
Ooops you're right! I missed that part because i wasn't an active member in the community when this changes was made. I will take a look on it, thanks!

The new I0coin-qt client works great.  Block chain download and transactions appear to work fine.  Thanks!
Has anyone tried mining yet?

My I0coin deamon dies typically once a week, anyone else facing the same problem?

I'm having a similar problem on Windows 7.  The I0coin daemon hasn't downloaded any new blocks for several weeks.  I've reloaded it twice.  I had a similar problem with bitcoin until the -qt client came out.  Anyone know when a -qt version of the I0Coin client will be released?
Your dreams are true now, i'm releasing a qt version of the i0coin client:

https://github.com/kR105/i0coin/

I forked the main bitcoin repo and made all the changes that are needed for the i0coin chain, i tested it generating a few transactions and even using the same blockchain that were downloaded with the old client and zero problems Smiley
What i not tested is generating coins, as the difficulty is high and my hashing power is shamefully slow, i wasn't able to test it so it needs further discussion/testing.

Linux users will benefit too, you can compile the i0coind daemon and enjoy all the improvements that the bitcoin team has made to their client on the i0coin client Cheesy

I will be releasing executables (Windows/Linux) later today, but if you can't wait just compile it! lol
