I think if you a investor or bounty hunter doing a research is very important these days. ICO/IEO scam train will appear soon you should carefull about your decision. But dont worry there is a few projects that will pay you.
Yes, that's right, we really shouldn't trust each project right away, because investing in new projects is also very risky, so I would rather agree to do research first before making trust in projects that appear today. 
As a bounty hunter, i am careful of choosing projects to connect with. I only choose some projects that are handled by the trusted managers here in this forum. Everyday has a new project and seems to be realistic and promising, however we cannot determine if its really a promising in the long run. So we should only join a good project that is hadled by a trusted manager.
That's the easiest way to find and join a project to promote, usually bounty managers becomes responsible because they are good in choosing a bounty to promote, with that kind of thinking, we are helping the investors and this community to be spam free in the future.

Building a trust in investment is not easy, even though now there are many new projects appearing, but we cannot directly trust them and invest in them, because investing is a high-risk job, so we must do research first in order to trust them.

When Bitcoin made a parabolic move last 2017, lots of new projects are created here and many bounty campaigns are emerged. Now it is happening again since many are expecting for Bitcoin to rise again. Time for the scammers to their normal job which is to scam those newbie investors. For me, if you did research and ask the experts you will not fall into these kind of scams.
Best thing to do right now is instead of investing into these new ICO's, it would be better if you will just invest into other coins out there that are already established. Anyway, if you really want to invest on a new project then Good Luck and face the risks

I find no campaigns that pays BTC accepting though so I'm joining the campaigns that pays tokens, there are several projects that are Listedin in exchanges which were for IEO like this blockburn which I did join. I'm unsure about what I'm doing but to kill time, its still the one that I can keep some of the tokens if the team turn out to be legit.
Bounty campaigns with BTC rewards are very rare, usually projects with very high potential to use this method, participants are limited and the rules are quite difficult. Don't give up, there are still many other strategies that we can use to minimize the risk of being trapped in a scam project, for example by choosing projects that are product ready, already listed on the market, IEO on potential exchanges, etc.Its going to be end up a waste of time if they are though risky but going into the forum everyday due to this keep me updated to what is happening in the community. If something shows up, I might as well join to some also. New projects today with new concept on them is rare like gambling and games in new platforms like EOS and TRX are also becoming common.
Keep trying as much as possible, choose a project that suits your ability. Prioritizing quality over quantity. 
Am expecting new coin and dying of some old coins, over 6000 coin market looks massive and we need to sanitize the space especcially for scam project. The process of getting into the market looks challenging to new projects; how to raise fund is challenging. The space demands a product for most of the upcoming projects. This gives investors confidence on the team and product, with lower hardcap compare to the ICO days. Everyone is looking for the right time to raise fund
Any market growth is accompanied by a new stream of fraudulent projects and schemes. This is a side effect. You can adapt to this. You just need to pump your care and accuracy. And then the scammers will not get to you.

Only Bitcoin can push altcoins price either fresh coin or old coin. This effect isn't applied instant or all coin at a time. Bitcoin halving isn't any scam announcement. New projects doesn't want to show anytime in coinmarketcap when their project plan is average. Extreme level good projects are also showing in good CMC. Once there is a good sign of growth or rather huge pump in the market new projects will start coming out so as to participate in what lies in the blockchain world. However on this new projects, only a very little number are out for change, out to contribute and out to offer something good while a huge number are out to manipulate and feed their pockets with investors money. Therefore one needs to be extremely careful with these new projects, take time to study them, ask questions, check out the team so as to be sure you are doing the right thing.
