Possible that Deepbit is redirecting some of its hashrate and the pool op is lining his pockets with unreported blocks? kinda explains why they've had bad luck recently

my thoughts too!

this thread again?HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh

blockchain.info takes best guess from the 1st IP they see relaying a block

you do not need to create a block to relay it!!!!!!

many blocks have been announced by other miners through Deepbit that don't belong to Deepbit as well.

http://blockchain.info/pools this page says

Hashrate distribution An estimation of hashrate distribution amongst the largest mining pools
The graph below shows the market share of the most popular bitcoin mining pools. It should only be used as a rough estimate and for various reasons will not be 100% accurate. A large portion of Unknown blocks does not mean an attack on the network, it simply means we have been unable to determine the origin. If you can identify any of the ips in the unknown list please post here.

they state they are not definitive, please stop treating them like they are.

http://blockorigin.pfoe.be/top.php at least states "We have no data about 197 (9.77%) blocks." it sort of helps ppl not to go "OMG UNKNOWN!!!!"
cheers

There isnt really one, since no pool or solo miner has to come forward and claim the block; but the best public source would be this:
http://blockorigin.pfoe.be/

blockchain.info has to maintain the IP list but if a pool decided to open a new datacenter location with a new IP blockchain.info cannot know that this new IP is dedicated to a pool. see my guess regarding Slush's pool here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1150648

They are listed on deepbits website, if you take in to account the 1+ hour delay.
https://deepbit.net/stats
Blockchain.info is not an authorative source for block origins, they just make educated guesses, and quite often wrong, particularly when it comes to deepbit.

i corrected it. see https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1150792

what is the "authorative source for block origins"?

EDIT: or better who is the "authorative source for block origins"? bitcoind?
