What do you suggest?

I suggest you read the thread so I don't have to re-type what I already typed.

I read what you suggested, I just don't trust that member he has negative trust.

There is nothing anyone can do if you just give them your transaction ID. The 2nd link should be -> https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/macbook-air-16114

macbook-air has/works for a mining pool and Quickseller is in good standing with that pool.

Thank you for that. I was wondering why it was leading to the same profile. I would look into it.

I have always wondered if a service could not be created to automate the troubleshooting of problems like this? A group of miners and/or a pool could offer this service as a extra income. They should create a website, where they advertise this service.

A lot of newbies and old timers makes mistakes and if they are not aware of the people rectifying these mistakes, then they are going to get frustrated with this technology. Let's create a single portal for problem solving of tx mistakes like these.

Call them the ^smile^

check out the many BIPs that have been created so far, they have all been trying to avoid making a centralized thing like what you suggest.
examples:
- simply resend the transaction with higher fee
- Child Pays for Parent (CPFP)
- Transaction replacement (RBF)
all these makes it automatic, so you only need a bitcoin wallet to make the transaction and send. some of these are not implemented my miners though! (like CPFP)

Ok, I might have used the wrong word, "automation" in that context. This should not be part of Bitcoin, but rather a value added services, provided by independent people. Like badbitcoin where scams are reported in one place and people have a one-stop solution to their problem.

So when we see this, " My tx is not confirmed for 20 hours, because I send too little fees " We can simply direct them to a centralized service to resolve this matter. Not everyone have the skill set to do this, so they need a little help.

This is not a permanent solution, but it adds a temporary solution to the problems being experienced now. In theory, if SegWit & LN is accepted, this might not be a problem anymore, but we are still far away from that and the users have these problems now.

You could always contact someone that can push transactions into blocks for one of the larger pools so it gets confirmed in their next block.  They'll probably want some sort of fee for the service.  There are a couple of them that are members here at bitcointalk.org:

and here is another reason core are happy with the fee war.. its not about spam. its about money..
finding new ways to give people headaches and then cost them more money to get around a headache.

if only devs used code to sort out spam. like limiting sigops and having a cooldown period (like the blockreward has) before spending.. instead of using "fees" as the mechanism to avoid spending or making it costly to spend.

i feel ashamed that the dev's are using economic rules instead of code rules to sway who should and shouldnt use bitcoin.
2013+ has definetly been the period bitcoin jumped into the bankers pockets

I have also accidentally clicked the custom per kilobyte fee. I wasn't paying much attention. And it's almost 19 hours and i think it still hasn't come through.

I have made a transaction also. Here is the transaction id a2e2a739762bb7de78fec46a2b957fd0e3a156977c118b6880815d6440764e4a.

Put in my first transactions yesterday. However, I accidentally shifted the decimal on my transaction fee, so I only sent 0.00005 instead of 0.0005 (tranaction of ~0.11 BTC). Anyone able to help get it into a block? I can compensate if you'd like.

Otherwise, I'd be happy to RBF, but I haven't found a way to do that with Electrum 2.6.4 - if anyone knows a way that would work for me too!

Like Bitcoin, I'm new to the forum here as well, so apologies if I'm breaking a rule - simply unaware and learning as I go. Happy to correct my ways if someone yells at me.

Thanks!

the new electrum 2.7 has that option, but you have to enable it before you send the bitcoin.. cant be done after..

do you have the tx id? .00005 tho is probably not enough.. it might not even make it on the network so you might can resend it with more fee.

at the moment .0005 is not even enough, you need .0008 / KB to make it in the next few blocks.

i too have a tx that has been stuck in the system for almost 20 hours Sad

it really sucks when we are so behind on transactions and you see antpool solving empty blocks Sad
