Many altcoins will not be going mainstream because they turn out to be scam coins stealing investors money, and diversifying into different altcoins would be a good idea and should be  long term investment to be successful.
Interesting and nice vid Mac hope you make up for your loses

Thanks so much Pamoldar, appreciate it  Smiley

Liquidated my remaining bitcoins and started following Frank his altcoin portfolio's that you can find at bluemagic.info.

That is pretty disappointing. Yes there are some nice infos for someone new in crypto but for someone that monitor crypto for years there is nothing new or really  useful.  That virtual founds ( they dont really exist yet) were made just recently so is no problem to make them successful for last 2 years, since you just put in what was successful.  Problem will be to make them successful for next two years. But in general  i have little interest in virtual founds, since those that makes them take no risk. Let them put their personal bitcoins and stand behind their words, pay transactions fees, ....   But same as their founds are right now I can claim I have found full of Monero and in 2016 had 3000% growth. It is not hard now find best preforming coin in 2016. it is hard to find one in 2017.

You are right that Frank his funds are young and still have to prove themselves.

However they don't contain that much past winners, Monero for example is not in it.

I base my judgement on past calls Frank has made, not on his current portfolio.

For example he did earn very well with Monero, if you analyse his past posts:

Just watched the video which is very informative and am almost convinced that bitcoin is not decentralized as we all know it to be as you say miners control it which isn't good for btc and imo its better to invest where the masses go and that”s BITCOIN and some reputable altcoins. Hope the blocksize issue doesn't hinder you from using btc Wink

Thanks man Smiley

Well, the blocksize issue is starting to hinder many users, who have to wait longer and longer, or pay more and more. This does bother me as an investor, and so it should you.

Check out my new video I published today for more: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/new-video-ardor-pumpin-byteball-jumpin-bitcoin-dumpin-1785300

Summary:

Liquidated my remaining bitcoins and started following Frank his altcoin portfolio's that you can find at bluemagic.info. Why I lowered my exposure to Bitcoin as well as Monero and Zcash, and why I raised it to gold and many new altcoins. Also update about Byteball and it's new distribution on 11 February (at the end).

Nice Marc, good stuff! Smiley

The most that could be done about figuring out an altcoin is the growth in a its economy becaus of how tracking opens up once users creativity figure the strings attached to then go through and pick them up right.

There're always alternatives that strengthen outlooks, but the best already circulate exchanges in geographic regions as well as inside payment processors or websites. (Doge, LTC, BurstCoin, Etehreum.)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Marc, always appreciated!

I was worried about bitcoin scaling too, but recently I saw an andreas antonopolous talk on the lightning network, which changed my thinking a lot. I also think bitcoin will remain the major on/off ramp for all cryptos, mainly because of network effects, so despite all the problems I'm still a bitcoin bull.

I looked into alt diversification through a top 20 Coinomat alt coin index fund started by sasha of Waves fame. It was later closed down without any explanation, but might start up again. That was being traded on NXT asset exchange, so might resume on waves. You can make more profit from picking good undefvalued alts, but it takes lots of time. Investing in an index fund of the top20 alts should give a good return still, but with less risk, and less time, just invest in top 20 alts without having to worry about finding a guru who can pick winners.

So Op got bored with relative stability of bitcoin (at least compared to ridiculous pumps and dumps new altcoins are promoting) and decided to gamble a bit with alts?
I guess we won't be hearing from you in case your new altcoin investment will go wrong? Liquidating your bitcoin position is the dumbest thing crypto investor might do.

Actually, I've been sharing my wins - and losses - via youtube for many years, since early 2013 I started talking about bitcoin:
