Hi Bitcoin...trader, yes very interesting coin for sure. I was thinking like you at the begining for the daily use and holding but after i remember the start of bitcoin and i thought that it's a perfect coin to hold and to use in the same time like Bitcoin lovers did. Seems like a very interisting coin with huge amount also but seems like its quite popular already in newyork as i can see about the website looks good too. Seems like this coin is realy good only for daily use and personal use not for holding in long term but still its good.

It's been a wild first quarter but we are happy to announce that we have met all of our goals for Q1 on the roadmap!. We have released an update for the qt-wallet and headless daemon. You can find the latest wallet update (version 1.2) at the github releases page.

Please note, that with this release, the database structure has changed (from berkeley db to leveldb) which will require a re-indexing. Re-indexing takes time, especially when the chain is over four years old. (We will have a bootstrap file which should help ease that pain.)

As always, backup your wallet.dat file before upgrading and be sure to read the change log for the wallet update.

We still need all hands on deck as we move into Q2 and the future!

Q2 is going to be an exciting time for the dev team and the community at large. A LOT of work is scheduled to happen in the next three months but I am confident that we can make it happen with the community's continued support. We are sticking to the roadmap and will continue to inform the community of any changes or pivots that need to happen along the way. We will need continued help from the community for on-boarding merchants, and if anyone has development skills, please see one of the team members in our discord to see where you may be able to fit into the team. As a reminder to all, there is no shortage of spammers, scammers, and FUDsters in the crypto sphere and we ask that you please verify your information and do your own research. For verified information please refer to nycoin.community. If you need information about the development efforts surrounding NewYorkCoin then please stick to this subreddit and talk to one of the devs on discord.

Not so altcion of different companies did a long ago. Already today do altcoins of the cities. Tomorrow we wait a altcoin of planet earth)))

It's an incredible project! And to address your questions: it has to do with the higher mining rewards and the technology is based on Litecoin and Dogecoin. It's a fork of the coin I mentioned the last.

Quite an interesting coin, but on the other hand I think that they do not solve anything, because nothing special in itself does not. Therefore, I think that this coin is created simply for fun and collecting money, although maybe I am very much mistaken and confuse this coin with something else

This is a very ambitious project. Such coins can multiply your capital several times, and can ... fail. Some people are not ready to take risks and invest in such projects. But I'm ready to invest in this coin a small amount as an experiment.

The meetup link and the bitcointalk thread link aren't working,  the Bitcoin talk link just directs you to the forums main page. Also, do you have any idea if the devs of this coin aim for success only in NYC or are they hoping for the coin to be used in shops outside of NYC later on?

It is necessary to be firmly confident in safety. The speed is certainly astounding. I would not be surprised if in the future this will be very common

A great coin with a great community. Still it needs more exchange and wallet option. Looking forward to wide spread use with multiple retailers.
