Makes sense.

I find myself wondering what to post about on the newbie forum, however, given that all of people's questions about btc seem to be answered quite adequately.

Can I just make any 5 posts and be able to reply or question on the regular board??

yes, now keep posting!   i think there is a minimum amount of 'active' time on the forum req'd too.  so keep refreshing that browser!

welcome!

yea, much like it did on silkroad forums, except here they have a time limit as well.
So people only need 5 post then they have to wait 4 hours. I've considered making a post every 10 minutes just to tie up the time but I don't have that much time to dedicate to bs

Well I do understand the reason behind it and I think it's a good idea but the logging time should be a little longer than however many minutes it is

These restrictions are kind of horse shit. I literally have to be active the full 4hrs. If I'm not posting, it's not counting. So in the time I read a thread I've logged about a minute or two before the timer stops

Actually, even after the first post, I can still not send a PM. Has the limit been raised?
