I usually don't have alot to say.  But certain recent events have me wanting to say a few things in some of the forums above!

I agree with this, but don't see a way around it without some kind of "rookie" plugin for SMF that doesn't place posting restrictions on people unless veteran users censure them into the Newbie section during an initiation period. And that would be a fair amount of effort for which there is little incentive.

Exactly, this is pretty much just forcing low-content posts just to get your count up.  What a short-sighted policy.

Agreed. Even worse than 'low content' would be wrong or mis-leading content.

I think it's a good idea to weed out the trolls and spammers. It's a bit harsh on newbies that are active, but if they're active 4 active hours is nothing.

Its extremely annoying because the total time logged in never increases. I understand its "active" online time. But frankly the newbie forum is not that active and there isn't anything I can do to be active short of reading threads that I can't even reply to yet.

Yeah, it's SO FRUSTRATING. Gaahhhh just wish I could pariticipate in all those other threads out there, but I'm  stuck in the kiddie pool hoping nobody takes a shit in it.

The worst part is sitting there refreshing the page waiting for someone to at least reply to you so you can actually type out a post.

Hello. I agree that these restrictions are annoying, but if it is good for the site then OK to be inconvenience a little the new users.

You will need to have 4 ACTIVE hours logged. Check to the top left to see your logged in time. It is not enough to just let the site sit in the background. You need to actively surf on the site for 4 hours.

EDIT: And as I'm writing it seems you just reached "Jr. Member". You should be able to post elsewhere now.

aye, I do agree but there are some seriously dumb people that take advantage of the newbie forums. Just to allude that bitcoins is an obsolete option as an alternative currency. We need math, lol.

But paid trolls do exist !!

Sure but if someone where paying me money to troll here then a 4 hour 5 post limit wouldent do much to stop me.

All it really does it makes this forum very inconvenient for new users.
