Ah no even be know say them done banned am, e just they somehow say ah no they see am active for the forum again me ah think say nah health issues or small matter Wey sup Wey make am no they active. Plagiarism no they good at all. Even as him they plead say because of him no add the link wey him get him information if you read through the appeal, you go see were person talk say him even shared the post stating that it was one of his quality posts. For him to talk that thing mean say nah him write the topic so him they claim ownership to the psot. That thing nah him make moderators con vex banned am. Abeg this topic make sense so that all everybody go learn and stop to the plagiarize especially the newbies make dem stop am. E no hard to express your thought for conversations.

My people I don go across  the thing them wey dey hear, the rules Dem dey like up to 33 rules but the one that dey talk about na this plagiarism Dem dey mostly talk about how to reduce plagiarism but I come they ask say wetting be plagiarism? And  na only plagiarism wey be the highest offense wey dem fit use baned person account? Abeg make ona tell me

All this one wey you mention na true, but wetin they be say this one wey you include say too much work to as far this forum concern person no suppose hold that one a reason say because things choke for you, na why you go do plagiarism that one no be reason  ohh. And one of the main thing wey they course plagiarism for some newbies here na laziness, and meriting hunting, there own make them just rank up and they go start to they copy things online without reference link post am for forum and this forum is against such thing so once they are catch’s the account get banned sharp.

However, e get some plagiarism wey they happen again wey be say we too we no they know say we do am, another person go don write something you go con go that topic go write wetin that person don write e they also course plagiarism sometimes because you go include wetin that person don write already and no be so e suppose be, make we they try develop our own idea and style of written make we they try use one style they write e go help us wella. No be the one wey we go they carry matter h this one go another one e they course plagiarism because we no know maybe another person don write something like that before. E no they work like that oh my Brodah, some they wait make they small thing wey they get against the forum rule make them report am, make I tell you the issue of plagiarism even if no be this person see am and report another person fit see am and report, make I no lie make person no just plagiarize na the best way be that oh, but where this people go even get that time to pm you for error e no they happen that way oh, na to call you out oh. Make we just avoid wetin go spoil our account na the best things bedat, some people no they even do am because of merits they just like doing such to get reputation so that people go know them wella for the forum, or make the other big names for forum know say them too they contribute and ma wetin they happen for this people wey they catch bounty hunters bedat nothing concern them oh. So my brother just be careful of any steps wey you take for the forum make e no just be against the rule beause wetin you they think say e no be big issue na wetin go affect you be that.


It’s very important to get the link to your source of information, as that is what will indicate that what you brought up was not from you but that you like to share with others to gain knowledge, so any information that's not from us we need to reference link to avoid stories that are not clear.

However, this issue of getting a reference link to what you provided is one of the reasons why most newbies get it. Some don’t know how to do it, and some didn’t learn how to copy content online and claim that it will result in their own account. Some didn’t even read the forum rules and regulations, so abeg our naija guys make we they they  careful. E No sweet make them ban our guys account. Even though I know say no be only naija guys they plagiarize but na them be our own na them we know.

Plagiarsim is the use of somebody's content without acknowledging him his due benefit or credit. Plagiarism can be cause by lack of not knowing w,hat to do ,tiredness,laziness,close deadline,and too much work to do.
There are various  kinds of plagiarism, each type is caused by various aims or plans which can make you  be a victim.,direct or complete. Self/auto, patch,and accidental or unintentional plagiarism.
Total plagiarism must be avoided when writing and so you bring  to use many things and ways of preventing it.when preventing plagiarism you have to observe direct quotation, paraphrase the content and credit the original author, citing after reward to the  content, removing and rewriticontent whole content and turning into opinion.

Reason why people keep plagiarising is because they are not ready to learn, to grow and and improve.  People are so tired to work on themselves and when they see other people's works online that so much time have been spent to get such great work they would want steal the work and claim it to be theirs. Every great writer, contributor started small and if beginners have the mindset that they can do better in their contribution of topic their won't be cases of plagiarism .

Plagiarism is an offence here in the forum, no need for members to indulge to it, we just need to encourage ourselves to learn and make research,  doing this it is very possible to share good knowledge to the forum at large .

I don't really know the kind of spirit behind the incidence of doing plagiarism because despite that many of the plagiarist would have been told not to do so from the beginning, yet they will concluded on giving a try to know what will happen if they try one, the truth of this is that they will receive a permanent ban, being a newbie below a sr member rank has more possibilities for a permanent ban and not a temporary ban, once something is against the law, then we should try as much as possible in working by it and not to go against it.

Sometimes I really dey wonder why people no dey hear word for this forum. Them don talk say, if you plagiarize, them go ban your account two seconds with wasting time. But you go still see people dey fall victim, e come be like say don no dey aware of the rules for the forum.
On how say you wan grow for forum, na the number one thing way u suppose avoid be that. If you no get post to make,  make you just relax till you get something to post, make u no go rush post, watin go put you for wahala.

I've been trying to see the post he made that got him banned and I don't really know how to go about it. But I've a few reservations on his banning. For me, its very bad to do plagiarism as its greatly prohibited in the forum, but we're all humans and to err is human. Could the person that reported him not have been merciful enough to PM him and notify him of his errors instead of using him to shine and collect merit?. For me, that would've been a more human thing to do to help a brother who is still new in the forum. It'll pain me more if this person whom reported him is from this board. It  means we're not our brothers keeper as that person should've corrected him and not just set him up like that. If he fails to take correction, then you report to the moderators for action. Just like those days in primary school when you report to your teacher if your colleague fails to sit properly in class after correcting him/her.

Lastly, a word for anybody who intends to copy contents online. Place the link before copying the contents for safety purpose as placing the link first when your head is still cool prevents you from forgetting it at the long run.

Due to their inability to comprehend and correctly write a post on their own, some of them were banned. They believe that if they copy something off the internet and publish it, no one will be able to trace it. However, they are unaware that copying and pasting is one of the most serious infractions in forums, and that new postings are constantly being checked for plagiarism.

Sometimes newcomers will be willing to post a worthwhile article that will garner some attention. They copy some high-quality articles from the internet while researching what to post in an attempt to gain credibility in the forum, and as a result, they are banned.

Finally, I know say our sr men dem here de always warn and advice them to avoid plagiarism for long, but things never change completely, I go still advice our newbies to avoid copy and paste because generally e no good and the forum self de against am.

The way I see am na bad habit way people don learn from school days nai them carry come dey operate here. How you want take convince person way don dey copy final year project for uni from internet successfully and he come get A on top say if he copy and paste for forum them go catch am. He go reason am say na big talk and he go won try am. So most times the issue No be say people no know the rules na just say them no believe say e serious like that.

When it comes as an honest mistake, that I would understand and comprehend reasons as to why but, when e con be deliberate something or you just trying to out smart the system by direct copy/paste with hope say, them no go see am or you use word spinner or you use AI Dey generate post which I agree with Cryptomultiplier say na the worst of it all, I just see a person way no wan give himself a trier at getting things done right for life and that’s so uncool.

I no like to dey see Nigerians Dey come up for matter way no go honor them for the forum so, make we try Dey look watin we Dey do and add small pride to our name. We Dey do well no be lie and we fit still Dey do better. No need to try rush the process, when e no Dey the body, rest! When the energy boost, you kwa you go feel an for your core.

The worst about plagiarism I have seen these days is the use of chat GPT or any AI produced text which bears semblance to the offense of plagiarism. They would without even a proper citation or reference or presented in a quoted format paste the work because of the laziness to read, research or think properly.

Yes, accounts have been banned from this forum because of this offense of plagiarism and it will be really unwise to have made so much effort as a newbie, to attain a certain number of merits or post count, only to be banned or given a negative trust.

I am very sorry too see this matter today, because in my country one person was caught stealing like this and his account has been banned. In fact, newbies start copying and pasting the forum without properly observing it, resulting in negative tagging and banning of their accounts. New people coming too my country people forum now should be careful, seeing what happened in the past. A local brother of ours got his account banned due to plagiarism, which is really sad. That is why it is most important for those who are new to be careful, it is better not to post by stealing like this.

Fact plagiarism have been affecting many members in this forum, but it mostly affect the Newbies and when I discovered that, I make my simple predictions and small research which I later discovered that it is just as a result of laziness and hunting merit that is how many people become a victim of plagiarism because many Newbies are just hunting for merit so that they can rank up and join a signature campaign so that they can make money which is not the best way, the best way is to understand and engage is research that will help you in future and also to be patient because with time I Newbies today will become a jr members, from there to member to full member and continuously so what I can say to my fellow 9ja mate is that let be patient with time all will be well

Truly plagiarism cost lots of newbies account banning. I believe this is the area we need to educate our newbies very well as they have no idea about it. In the education sector plagiarism  is seen as a serious offence because it is more of intellectual theft so therefore anyone find wanting would be penalised for it likewise other sectors as well. You can use intellectual property but you must cite or quote them properly to avoid being called out.

I believe this aspect should be properly treated from the local boards because there they have the newbies and can communicate with them properly guiding them through. Just as you have raised this topic in believe other newbies here who sees this thread would definitely show up here to read and learn.

Ohh' Newbies should notice such warnings, but they post without thinking about all these things. Although they are called warnings, are taken under maximum punishment, but they may take them lightly otherwise they would have acted cautiously in the forum. u are right that forum rules should be read at least once a week or once a month, as the rules change from time too time, and it is very important too keep them updated. But a new user doesn't repeat the same thing over and over again. And for such mistakes they have been penalized before, and their accounts have been banned, but they are not careful about this. It is important for a new person too follow the rules before posting on a forum, but breaking the rules and doing the wrong thing will not last long, getting their account banned within days. However, those newbies should be careful reading such messages so that they avoid such mistakes in the future.

With this it brings it to 2 accounts from the localboard that have been banned due to plagiarism and which is an offense that the forum have zero tolerance for,  and in as much as that is,  we need to place priority on the posts we make most especially when we are not the original owners, 

I don't know why newbies are always cut up on this even though we hand out a lot of warning for them that this offence have the highest penalty here in the forum,  how then do they keep repeating similar mistakes that others have done before,  if a newbie truly takes to read the rules of this forum they should be are already of what the forum permits and dislikes even as an old member I still read forum rules to keep me updated each time.

Well anyhow wey e be e no easy at all my people because sometimes in fit no be intentional it fit be by coincidence unto say e get some topics wey they get too many responses and e go dey difficult to check through everyone's post then you start giving your own opinion not knowing say you dey talk same thing wey another person don talk unintentionally.

So this plagiarism sometimes we no go blame the person because people wey they reply to topics dey too much so no how wey person go fit go through wetin everybody don talk concerning the topics.

So for me, make them they temper justice with mercy. If this can thing happen then make them issue warning to the person wey dey involve for like two to three times then if the person still continues then we go see am say in they intentionally do am so na in be my own opinion for this matter

I wonder why most people will like to plagiarize while they can just use there knowledge or understanding they have on that particular topic instead of plagiarize, well in most cases of plagiarism is course if someone has no dea about a particular discussion and really want to comments so the only alternative that could to come his mind is to plagiarize. so my advise to my fellow newbie is that, is better watching and learning if we don't have an idea of or contribution to a discussion than plagiarize.

Since I joined this forum, either I write directly off hand or I will include a link even if it is a line or two that I copied. Even a quote is allowed without a link but I prefer to include a link even if I am the owner of what I quoted.

Most likely no other reason than they want to get the credit instead, but not knowing how a post can be more authentic if they include the link to its source.

Another reason is that they do not know they can be known until they are known and banned. Some newbies even reword the plagiarized words in a way to mask them from not letting people know, but later they are banned because they did not know how easy a plagiarism checker can easily reveal their plagiarized contents.
