For me its not wise to attend a conference like that.It gathered by many people which you dont know, they might infect the others unknowingly.Follow the rules or as much as possible,stay at homenfor the mean time.Practice discipline.

They should have known that coming to the conference was more likely to have a covid-19 virus. The organizer canceled this event for the safety and comfort of everyone involved. And also they do not know anyone who has been infected with the virus so that it eventually spread to several people, I hope this all passes soon and things get better like everything.

In that time I think France was already implementing precautionary measures and guidelines about the covid-19, especially in Paris its capital of France so it should be strictly implementing the guidelines regarding the mass gatherings and events and those attendees in that conference should voluntarily quarantine themselves to prevent more covid 19 transmissions. stay safe folks.

However, do you want the untested vaccine experimented first on your family or community as the test guinea pigs? I reckon Japan should test their new vaccine on their own citizens before declaring them safe from damaging side effects.
Imagine if your family is on a stage where the sickness due to covid is dangerous already and he/she are running out of time? As a family member that have a mind to only save your love ones, wouldnt you agree? If some authority and sector says its already proven effective. Not that its only dangerous but in a matter of life and death, the best move is to do anything to make them safe by trying the best thing we can do. OMG, that's really sad to hear and I would say this is purely carelessness. It was declared global pandemic and people just take it as a casual news and going forward for such things is unacceptable...
Corona is a very serious disease which spreads extremely faster, at this situation every one need to take responsibility and take care of ourselves that's the reason they say to avoid public gathering. Please try avoiding such stuff for a good cause also I pray every one should recover get well soon guys...

Public health problems are the responsibility of governments and the presidents of nations must act quickly in an emergency as we are seeing it.
What I can see is that the government of France and Italy did not take the necessary measures to prevent the spread.
Recently, doctors from Wuhan who have gone to Italy have expressed "I don't know what they think" to see some citizens circulating on the street without masks, there are still people using public transport, and there are commercial activities.
And about the Ethereum Conference that was held in the first weeks of March, it was definitely negligence for not taking the Coronavirus issue carefully.

Those with symptoms are advised to self-isolate and get themselves tested.
Not only those people who already have early symptoms of covid 19, but also all the people he interacted with and all the people who interacted by those people as well. That's a tough work to do, it is very hard to trace all the people contacted by those 6 positive cases but that's the best solution to avoid worse scenario

It might be years for a commercially good vaccine that has very minimum side effects. I reckon that the companies that create them would sell the first batches of commercial coronavirus vaccines on 3rd world countries and use their people as the test guinea pigs.

I don't know why there are still high number of educated illiterate in the space, with all the information and warnings about Corona Virus, some people feel they can beat it. There is a reason why social distancing is encourage and a real means of preventing the spread. Wishing those that have contacted the Virus complete recovery

If another gathering that was supposed to be held in this period had been halted, I think they too should have done that, to avoid such occurrence. It is never a good thing on their part.

Ouch for them, I really hope they get better soon. I would imagine that considering they went to the conference and there were most likely a lot of people in their vicinity, the virus probably spread to many more than 6 people. I read a while back that the virus does have an incubation period (similar to a lot of other infections), so i'm pretty sure with testing there should be a lot more cases.

Corona virus causes a lot of delays and causes a lot of losses in almost all fields. and March 2020 becomes a red month for the development of crypto in the year which is expected to be bull. This is very irresponsible of the conference organizers and the Parisian Ethereum community. It might have been ok to give them excuse if the conference was on January or February. However, on March, it is a certainty that all conferences and mass gatherings should be declared dangerous.

Quick recovery to all the pandemic coronavirus patient out there, I just wish the pandemic COVID19 ends ASAP, it's causing a global crisis as more and more global activities are getting shut down on daily basis. I think everyone have seen enough to avoid any form gathering and most of the countries have putten bans on activities that requires gatherings

In the midst of a coronavirus outbreak, I don't think it would be wise to hold a conference that was attended by many people because it could speed up corona transmission. Nowadays technology is sophisticated and can use the internet to conduct conferences and in my opinion this is safer.

This is exactly the thinking everyone should had but didn't, that is the big problem. This is like reverse climate change right now. Normally on climate change we tell the rich old folks that we should do something about it, and yet they vote for the people who will do nothing about it and even give tax breaks and subsidize to oil companies to ruin the earth more. Why? Because they won't have to live with it but we will. So, the old basically screwed the young there.
Now, here young people say they won't be as bad as old people, they won't die most probably, they will have a SEVERE case of flu but they will live, however old people die like crazy right now, so it is totally opposite of climate change deal. We should not only care if we will die or not from corona, we should care about if we will get more people infected or not, you may not die from it but someone you infected could die from it.

This is the height of carelessness, both the invitee and the invited... This is not a period to gather for functions, meetings or party. What needed to be discussed there that can't be postponed till when the crises is over. Anyway, the deed is done, those with symptoms should self isolate, test and try possible treatments. BTW, I hope this will not be a problem with ethereum market..
Possible treatment is their immune system if they have a very good immune system and they don't have underlying illness, even if there are 50 or 60 years old that can still recover, the virus is only devastating for people with weal immune system I have read one artclewhere one over 70 years able to recover, just need faith and a strong immune system.

@bitgolden. It is also the community members' fault for attending. I reckon that the younger ones of them might think that it would be ok to catch the coronavirus because they will recover from it. However, their selfishness will cause them to be contagious to the older and weaker people around them.
This is a testament that mass gatherings are really not advisable in these days. They thought that they can take care of themselves, but the problem is when they infect other people. And it continues to infect others. And the major problem right now, is that the vaccine is still in trial condition. We don't know how many months do we need to wait before they release it commercially. And by that time, a lot of people are already infected.

This is really a wrong move for the organizers of the said conference as this moment mass gatherings are clearly discouraged due to the fast and widely spread of corona virus. I just hope those who have start to feel the symptoms of covid 19 should be responsible enough to make a self- quarantine for 14 days so they can no longer affect other people. This can turn out to be the worst if the ones who are tested positive attended those conference. Corona virus gets spread much easily in crowd and it could almost cover the entire crowd. It takes 14 to 20 days for the symptoms to show and till that time the virus can spread much wider. This could turn out to be the worst as each and every attendee from the conference might interact with at least 500 persons and it can turn out to be an epidemic.
In my country, this virus is spread out because of the nations visiting other nations like Dubai, USA, China, etc returned home country and this virus started spreading its roots too quickly by infected close ones and the chain started from there. The worst case is that there is no vaccine for such virus.
