This is the height of carelessness, both the invitee and the invited... This is not a period to gather for functions, meetings or party. What needed to be discussed there that can't be postponed till when the crises is over. Anyway, the deed is done, those with symptoms should self isolate, test and try possible treatments. BTW, I hope this will not be a problem with ethereum market..

They should have postponed the conferece to avoid to get infected of the virus. There have been positive cases in Paris but still they pushed through it. Many countries have locked down and cancel of important events, like in america they have postponed major sporting events and other countries did too.

This is not good at all, where most countries are already cancelling conferences, mass gatherings etc to limit the spread of this virus and these organizers went head to launch theirs and people even attended. It is understandable that the conference is important but life is more important as it is someone who is healthy that can attend more conferences etc. Let those who attended the conference take precautionary measures to ensure the safety of their friends and loved ones. I wish them quick recovery.

I personally do not think that I am too worried about it myself but if it could still endanger others I would 100% take precautionary measures and especially after WHO itself advises all these things. Why do people need to go for crowded meetings it is so irresponsible,,, terrible from the community and developers especially. Did they apologize?
Agree, what we can do now is to isolate ourselves if we feel something is wrong with our body. Or at least check ourselves to get certainty about our bodies so that we can prevent this outbreak from continuing to others

It is not really possible to isolate ourselves without any national help. We can't exactly identify if we are infected from this virus. This virus is creating a mess as people have ever stopped moving out of their houses. Streets are turning vacant and it is really panicking the citizens.
Moreover, we do not start showing symptoms that quickly as it takes time and we can firstly infect our family members if we interact with this kind of virus. This could spread a lot faster even if few people get infected from us. We should maintain maximum hygiene to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. The individuals from the conference should get themselves tested to keep themselves safe.

I wonder why they decided to go ahead with a public conference when the corona virus was spreading and all countries are cautioning..Any way I hope the people recover soon and the corona panic goes away soon so that the people can resume nor Al daily life activities and socialise Soon like before.

However, their selfishness will cause them to be contagious to the older and weaker people around them.
This is a testament that mass gatherings are really not advisable in these days. They thought that they can take care of themselves, but the problem is when they infect other people. And it continues to infect others. And the major problem right now, is that the vaccine is still in trial condition. We don't know how many months do we need to wait before they release it commercially. And by that time, a lot of people are already infected.

When even the biggest sports leagues are cancelling or suspending, it is really not making any sense that people would want to even meet all together. Organizers are as guilty as the people who joined as well. There should have been a riot about getting their money back or postponing this to another time by the people, even if it means burning the cash and not going even after paying for it, many people should have stay absent from it.
If organizers still kept it at the same date and didn't postponed it you should have at least used your mind and not go there yourself. Organizers are definitely guilty, how could anyone be as irresponsible as this to put so many lives in danger, just 6 people who have corona means you have to test hundreds who are in contact with them.

After so much warning and so many proofs, how can they go for a crowded meeting in March? This was so irresponsible plan and not expected from Ethereum team! I hope they will be cured by the proper treatment. Coronavirus is not a simple matter, you just can't take it simply anymore, people are dying every day and every day there is a new country or new people are being affected by this Epidemic virus. I am following a telegram channel called @Covid19up, I just shocked and afraid that how fast this virus is spreading everywhere! So be careful everyone!

On March 3-5, when this conference took place, such harsh measures by states against the spread of coronavirus have not yet been taken. They were taken just over the last week. Many of these conferences have already been rescheduled or decided to hold them in virtual mode. From the current position, of course, such mass events already seem irresponsible from the point of view of safety for the participants and the real threat of getting this virus.
Means during that time there already a significant positive carrier of virus. Since the symptoms arent very shown, the airbone virus is very dangerous cause probably the carrier himseld doesnt know he already have. Probably only known when he visited the hospital for some sickness he is feeling.
We cant totally blame them as the news spread after the week of that mentioned conference. Anyway Im sure all following events will be cancelled now.

Agreed. Italy is the very example of people who have underestimated the pandemic until it has become too late to stop it. I reckon that there might be some hospitals that are already overwhelmed and might have to choose which patients live and which die. The old might be the sacrifice.

that surprised not only you but many people were also surprised because we know that this virus spreads very quickly so if the ethereum community has found that exposed to corona then the circulation of people interacting when gathering will be more and more potential to be infected hopefully this will not provide bad impact for ethereum prices.

Most conferences were postponed. In my area all schools, cinemas, shoping centers are closed. Borders are getting shut down in the way that only citizens can enter and all visitors and tourists are held back, unless they have families here. People who come from high risk areas like China or Korea are quarantined and they went on with the conference?

And do you see the paradox how bad the centralization is? The most influential community members from Ethereum attended to a party and now almost all of them are positive? What if this matter affected the stability of the project? For example Bitcoin doesn´t have such problem because the whole world has to be inffected to endanger the stability of Bitcoin.

This is terrible and shocking, i know corona is spreading across europe quite fast but recent emergency response at global level will yield results in a month or so i guess, many people are in a state of panic or fear but i think with the isolation and no gathering policy across the globe, world will be able to control this virus in a couple of weeks time.

This is very irresponsible of the conference organizers and the Parisian Ethereum community. It might have been ok to give them excuse if the conference was on January or February. However, on March, it is a certainty that all conferences and mass gatherings should be declared dangerous.
In Paris yes it is dangerous, but in many countries not, since they have zero infected. Situation of course can change, and it will change. And Paris might become corona free and conferences there might get safe again.

Don't tell me this people are not aware of this difficult situation that the world is passing through right now that they still went ahead to host a conference in the midst of this virus affecting many people in different countries,
I see it as total negligence of this epidemic and now they get themselves infected by the virus, why deliberately adding to the already increasing number of affected people!
