No linux mining that's all
You can mine with Linux from the start with CPU.
CPU is more energy efficient than GPU.
You guys never tried ccminer (mod by tsiv) & 750TIs Cheesy

I am not sure 750Ti beat efficient CPU. I don't think so.

It does.
I also confirmed it with my own calculations.
The difference between coin rev and profit is just energy cost at $0.10
So, the question remains, why isn't difficulty going up quicker??
The are many reasons :
- XMR is not known yet
- Most miners are not good at making calculations
- Most miners find it hard to setup and automate the software part
You are right bro, but calculator is not show always the truth, orphans, stale shares, pool shave, gpu miner in beta(some times you did not got all the speed) - etc make my profit about 30-40% less then in cals

The speed on the miner software is absolutely not the real hashrate.
Especially the Claymore GPU miner that split the hashrate in two addresses (one for you, one for him) and greatly increase connection errors and instability with the pool.
It only matter what the pool get from the miner.

Been wondering this myself but I'm certainly not complaining. Enjoy the profitability while you can because once the unwashed masses get on board it will end up in shitty equilibrium with the rest of the algos.

There is no Linux-ready GPU miner for Cryptonight. That's why its distribution is quite limited.

Good post.

Some people complain that Monero is much less profitable than few weeks ago but it's still way more profitable than 99% of other cryptos.

Do your calculation take energy into count ?

I think that energy efficiency play the most important part because an efficient system will be able to mine when other will shut down their RIG.

Monero Client v0.29.0
https://github.com/Jojatekok/monero-client/releases/tag/v0.29.0

This version makes the users unable to start multiple instances of the software. Some unrequired calls and functions have also been removed, thus, resulting in performance improvement (just try out QR code generation Wink). The crash logger doesn't log messages on shutdown anymore. Notice that this release didn't get a "Pre-release" tag on GitHub, which means that it can - and should - be safely used.

An AMD Radeon R9 280X gets about 355 CryptoNight hash.

It gets 750 Scrypt. Am I missing something from the below #'s? Why isn't everyone mining Monero?
