Saltpool is not currently mining Newton as per the dev request. Once the dev says to mine, Saltpool will mine again.
You were seeing another coin (Darktaelon) - it's another cryptonight coin, but it is not Newton. This was a problem with the Saltpool website, but it has since been fixed. If you browse to http://newton.saltpool.net you will now see the Newton pool, but it is currently disabled so don't bother mining it.
I will post back here again when Saltpool is able to mine Newton again.

I will study of course the project in process, but generally the blockchain technology again a front line is offered. I so understand the developer created a subject and itself tries to pull the project.
