Actually this post should be moved to Meta section since you're talking about this forum add NFT section under Alternate cryptocurrencies board. Anyway it has been discussed many times in Meta section since 2 years ago, you can visit below thread I listed here:

1. Why not an NFT section ?
2. NFT subforum?
3. Bitcointalk NFT tokens

I think NFT is already become a dead project since there's many NFT holders can't make profit since no one want to buy their NFT. It's wasted and useless.

  -  This idea that you are thinking of is not good in my opinion. Because this forum is here to provide ideas and knowledge for anyone who wants to learn about the cryptocurrency industry.

It seems like the NFT that you connect to the system that bitcointalk has is a different matter. The good thing about this platform is that each community member here gives their ideas and wisdom that can be a way for everyone to learn here and get to know more about cryptocurrency.

As other members state there is no need for such specific boards dedicated to the NFT trend as you can have normal discussions about them and no nee to have a separate board for the same because this is just a trend for some artworks which have become popular and those who are really interested in them can join the discord server of the particular ones and have a discussion for it and join telegram group and have conversations with like minded ones. But the forum is still best without all these and it would create mess and non repeated useless threads so need for it.

Hi,

Do you think it would be good idea to add NFT under Alternate cryptocurrencies?
I know it may not be the big thing for Bitcoin people here, but I think it may draw more attention to Bitcoin and Bitcointalk which can bring something positive.
I also was skeptical about NFT, but I had some extra solana and tried to buy some  Cheesy

I will be happy if you share your collection and what do you prefer if ethereum, solana or other based NFT?

Here are my NFTs (I was lucky I found rare ones and I love that apes) Grin Grin

What do you think about NFTs in general?

In terms of Solana under by NFT, so far it never get my attention to buy under by it.
Though, I cannot deny that one of my source of income now was Axie Infinity(AXS, SLP), Cyberdragons(BNX, Gold), and
Dragonary(CYT) and Mir4(Draco) where these are all under NFT games but not in NFT under by SOLANA.

Bitcoin and NFT have quite a visible difference.
Looking at the world of crypto investment, NFT is a crypto technology that shows a digital certificate by stating that the party is considered an investor who has photos, videos, or other virtual forms that can be profitable for him.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin is an electronic currency whose use is to be able to make transactions over the internet without using an intermediary, aka without using bank services.
Bitcoin and NFT do not have the same value. NFT is more likely to be an investment platform for buying and selling or auctions which will later get a code or certificate as an investor, buyer or seller of the digital virtual asset. While Bitcoin has a value that can be said to be the same as other cryptos as a transaction tool on Blockchain.

There was a suggestion that Bitcointalk should have their own coin, the community did not support this, because this is a Bitcoin forum already I don't think there's a need for NFT this is just a fad or a trend that will soon be over, Bitcointalk is already popular and a go-to forum when it comes to everything about Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency, Bitcointalk doesn't need anything like NFT to draw people here.

I think it's not proper enough to make it as it's own section since this NFT is just popular lately like 2 years behind, and people step on it because it could make a lot of profits, we will see if there is a new trends and people start leaving NFT, is there still any NFT platform around? or just dissappear like previous hype.

What do you think about NFTs in general?

For me, NFT is a digital assets that owns by someone and the price of the assets is determined by the hype of the people, not determined by how hard the NFT was created. It's just like an in game items for me, people created in a limited edition, but the buyers wants to pay it very high because they will have pride if they have it, reminds me of dota 2 in game items which the price could reach 100k USD in one item because it's very rare.

I am not sure if it needs its own section. It certainly should have one at the moment, but I would like to see it stick around as a very popular option for 6-12 months before dedicating another forum to it. I do see the appeal for potential launches and bounties for in the future if this area of cryptocurrency remains as popular as it has been in the last few months.

If I'm not mistaken this thing has been suggested many times by several individual on this forum, as far as I know the result were the same which theymos still don't find a good reason to create a NFT subforum.

NFT (Non-fungible Token), as you could see the highlighted part, I also think it isn't necessary to create new NFT section. People could create or make discussion about NFT under altcoin section like what we are doing right now.

NFT should have its own room here, that's right. Definitely this trend came here not for one or two years - tokenisation is a very promising sphere. So, yeah, altcoins and NFTs should be discussed separately.

crypto money is constantly evolving in every period and every season, opening a new dimension to a new field. That's why I don't like having a new sub-title. If a subheading is opened every time something new comes out, it will be difficult to prevent this and it will be really difficult to follow. I think the altcoins title is ideal and we can follow everything easily. In addition, none of us know what awaits crypto money in the coming years and what new trends will emerge. That's why I think it's perfect for it to stay that way.

I personally do not care if a section exclusive for NFTs is added here or not. One major issue if NFT were to be approved is other group supporting meme tokens, defi and other upcoming trends could be asking the same thing. Imagine how many subsections there will be in the coming years.

Maybe just find another forum for altcoins or just leave the NFT discussions on Twitter.

I think Nft is a thing to have it section, because it's making wave now, beyond other altcoin, and it cut across the major network, so have it sections is not bad, it will increase is prospect generally ok crypto currency world.

Following you! That's right such section is missing, now this topic is very interesting for many Bitcointalk users I would still like to use my NFT as an avatar. I don't have enough information about NFT, very many questions.

What do you think about NFTs in general?
NFTs are a huge hype today. There are many celebrities and famous brands who release their own collections of NFT and there are many people who are willing to buy them then.
I think that NFTs will be developed and will be adopted in different spheres as they can be applied for storing information, documents and transfering them, so I think that this sphere has a big future.

I think it is not necessary. NFT is just one thing that is developed under certain altcoin networks. That is the same with ICO projects, decentralized finance, etc. It becomes messy if each of these will be provided with a specific section under alternate cryptocurrency. And it might not be always popular. Today it is the trend, tomorrow it could be another one. Anyway, you can always open a discussion about it under alternate cryptocurrency section.

Like it or not, NFT threads are going to be popping in the Alternative currencies forum in bitcointalk.

Adding a subforum may not be required for it but it will be discussed as part of the crypto markets. Every smart contract platform today are having NFT from ETH, BSC to Polygon so it's here no matter what and sometimes with an outstanding price we can't imagine. Maybe Theymos will consider it to make it easier for investors to see, we could have other digital goods section for NFT buy and sell.

What do you think about NFTs in general?
This was a good trend but some people are making this trend to be overrated like valued non sense thing with over valued price.

This is the problem with the NFT items today where you really don't know if the NFT you bought will gonna be expensive next time since you bought it at a high price.
Most of the NFT that is sold today is expensive and worth a fortune but we just don't know what to buy to make a profit of it and the capital needed is not a small amount because if you didn't pay attention and work on knowing which items will gonna be pricy in the next few months or years, You will end up losing all your investment just like what happened to the other NFTs where they ended up losing their price because no one really cares about their NFTs.

Big risk with this NFT hype, we really don't know what the future will bring, if it's going to be worth something or not. Yeah, for sure everything is a risk here, nevertheless for us it is a calculated risk if we invest on crypto's and not on NFT.

And there's thing on what we call hype, ICO-IEO-NFT, so we know that drill, those hype doesn't really last long and maybe in the next bear market, we might see NFT price goes down very hard.

I don't think it's a good idea as bitcointalk was a forum and its purpose to build the crypto community. Theymos has ever spoken about that. You can check it on meta.
This was a good trend but some people are making this trend to be overrated like valued non sense thing with over valued price.

You're correct that forum main purpose is to build community but it doesn't mean that creating a section dedicated for NFT is a bad idea for this purposes. There's a lot of NFT collector out there that's still not here, They might be attracted to join here if they saw that there's a community talking about it. Just commenting on your thoughts about your overview on the forum purpose.

There's already an existing marketplace on this forum, so how it differs on an NFT marketplace?
