Could it be because of corruption or bad governance that could inspired the northan Nigeria children to laid curse on president Bola Ahmed Tinubu?
Sincerely speaking, it's so dishearten to see that the children of a nation that are believed to be the leaders of tomorrow to feel so betray by their leader to the extend of laying curse on their president. Going by the present scenery of hardship, hunger and adjected poverty in Nigeria I think the reason of laying curse on Nigeria president by nothern Nigeria children is somehow justifiable because what country right now is as result government policies and incompetent corrupt leaders that have held the country captive for their selfish interest.

Though it is not a good thing that children should do that but the situation in this county is very worst now and this as a result of the policy made by the president, after the general elections and the new president was sworn in, the president that they are having out totally from the subsidy without considering some factors, Nigeria is not as bad as it is before removal of the subsidy by the president, now importation of good has skyrocketed to prices that are unbearable so what do we expect, do we expect the importers to sell below the cost prive, the answer is no., hardship can cause anything so the children should not blamed much for any reason because a hungry man is an angry man.

For a child to know how terrible the hardship is right now it tells how bad the performance of the government is right now.  Government really needs to try their best to make things better because people are really suffering. Before now children don't even know when things are hard but right now little children can tell when things is difficult which is very bad and a very shamefull thing. Things needs to be better than this.
Why would a child lead curses in the president? Is the president responsible for the problems they are facing?
This is a wrong saying and we should always embrace the mindset of praying for our nation's president because this is the only way we could have a better country since there might be forced that are operating and trying to make life harder for the people.
We need to be wise and do things accordingly without creating more problems for ourselves and the economy of our country.

we know the president of Nigeria and his cabinet are not putting the people first. please note that is not all Nigeria children laid courses on president Bola tinubu, it was a boy of about 12 years old.for your information don't conclude that Nigeria northern children laid course on mr president. we all know that things are though in the country, for the fact that there's  freedom of speech. you don't try it just because he's a little boy, can any adult do it he or she will definitely found him or her self somewhere else. we all know what inspired the little boy it's high cost of living in the country right now.but you that is adult try it you we see the outcome of it.

OP the title of your post is misleading because children didn't curse the Nigerian President, it was just a child. I am not sure you watched the video of the Nigerian child debating on mandatory voting. The pupil was just saying what he crammed and nothing more. Maybe a teacher just taught him what to and he just showcased it in a debate in front of teachers and his fellow pupil.

Causing the president is a punishable offence in some countries that could lead to imprisonment in some undemocratic nation. I blame the teacher for putting such harsh words in the mouth of a student. In the debate, the student even said that he wished thunder would kill politicians including the president. You don't teach a child to insult anybody even in the face of adversity.

I don't wish the president dead but he deserves to be impeached because he has brought suffering and untold hardship to the people of Nigeria.

You are actually right on this bro, it was just a single child, not children as stated by the op,  what I even sense about that video, is that all what that child said was planted in his mouth by the teachers , because if it was an adult like them that said that and went viral like that, it wouldn't be long when they would have call for their arrest, though of a truth, the hardship and suffering in Nigeria is too much, the high cost of living in having a serious effect on the common man, and the government don't even care.

I had of a story of how a man ran away and abandoned his wife and 3 kids, due to the financial pressure, so base on the fact that the wife cant handle the financial pressure, she took the children to a nearby church, and went and committed suicide, by running into a moving trailer, which eventually ran her off, so it's not just easy for most people out there, because the present economy is not that friendly.

When you hear Nigeria the first thing that comes to mind is Africa's largest oil producing country besides the country has a reputation for movies and music. But the country is also known for corruption. But beyond this knowledge lies the long history of Nigerian heritage and culture. Children in Nigeria have cursed their president because of corruption children are deprived of all opportunities. Children will not give a damn if they can protect their interests.

They have big issues over there.

I was reading just today that people just disappear, over there, get kidnapped etc..

In addition, the goverment is cursing crytpo because it seems that people buy crypto to avoid the crambling of the local currency, in the sense that you don't even need to invest. Just buying USDT keeps your money away from de-evaluation.

Many things can lead the children to carry out such attitude toward their president and, If you watch the video very well you will know that there are people behind all those curses the children was laid to Nigeria president just to make the school popular and to reduce the courage of the new administration

Do you believe that they push all those children to be saying all those things they where saying in the social media just to  cause some distraction to the government because, you can't try such thing to some developed countries president, but developed countries leaders do the right thing that will make children and adults to celebrate them in a good way.

It's probably because they're fed up with the corruption and bad governance mess. Seriously, seeing the supposed future leaders feeling betrayed enough to curse their own president is just heart-wrenching. Hut its normal to question those in position. Nigeria's drowning in hardship, hunger, and poverty and it seems like it's all thanks to shady government moves and selfish leaders. It's a bit extreme to curse but their frustration is totally understandable. The country needs a serious overhaul like kick out the corruption, get some competent leaders, and maybe then we won't have kids cursing out the president

To me I see the hands of politicians behind this because it is on public notice that the countries north is generally unenlightened and uneducated due to their strong Islamic laws and believe
So children of that age in the countries north are supposed to be (alma Jiri ) begging food in the streets and anything their imam tells them is what they do
So they don't know anything about government not to talk about releasing curses on the countries president
They are being used as a political tool by opposition party

I will say that, it was the teacher's mind that was poured out through that pupil, if not why will the teacher teach such to a child to say it out in public, because since there is a video of it, it means that it is public.

The teacher knows that if s/he says such in public, the corrupt government will come for him/her and such words can get him killed. However, it is not bad to express your feelings indirectly, when you know that you will not be safe if you say it yourself. I agree with you that it is not good to wish someone dead because you can be accused for killing the person if peradventure the person dies, and it also shows a sign of hatred for the person who wish death for.

Actually what I am seeing here is another  political action and maybe this is not the children who pursue this cursing but there is a shadow behind this act , because how could such young be cursing their president when there are no one who is pushing them to do so?

but given if this is truly their stand yet the president has a tons of problem to attend than those young dude that is not helping the country indeed but tries to bring their president down.

you all be going around painting your nation black without sitting your ass down to do something meaning for yourself.
Every nation has it own ups and down and no nation has a perfect leader that has everything figured out but during any slightest provocation you all bring your nasty ass out to paint your nation black in public as though it will help solve the problem of your country.

Some of you all can't even take care of a small responsibility givin to you but you sit back and feel because you're not in position of authority you can easily speak to your leaders any way you like?

Nigerian is a very populated and multi ethnic society and you can't expect whatever policy the leaders are putting in place to get access every citizens. You all have a duty to be responsible for your lives and see how bring out the best out of yourself rather than pointing accusing fingers on your leaders. The lands are fertile and there are countless numbers of invested resources in all your communities but you are sit back and you are waiting for your leaders to bring food to your table?

We all know our leaders haven't leaves that much to thier expected responsibility but regularly bringing it up in a public platform that's totally of a different niche is a no no for me.

You are talking as if only northern Nigerians are enduring the hardship, only politicians are benefiting from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, if not all Nigerians are facing the hardship in the country and everyone is protesting and laying curse just as northerners are, Only the Igbo tribe are not protesting, but they are also enduring difficulty, and I'm sure they are laying curses as well.
Quote
Residents of Kano, Ogun, Niger and Sokoto states have earlier staged protests over the economic crisis in Nigeria.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may have good intentions, but the politicians who are around him are the main issue we are facing in our nation. I oppose the curse that people are placing on him because it is so wrong. It is difficult to rule a state, let alone a nation, and the powerful Nigerian for that matter.

I think it is a general something and not just the Northern children or youths.
Nigerians are used to social media cruise and banter, they usually take everything for granted and always use cruise to react to some reactions instead of being angry.
I agree with you on this, we are all aware of how Nigerians play with almost everything and the rate at which they banter one another is so high and every time i go to X (twitter) and see things they make fun of it amazes me how they are able to overlook all the hardships they are going through and still be able make jokes about them. It is not bad to see them not get worked up over things, it’s like they are used to it and have given up on thinking things will get better. Nigerians are so unserious they banter one of their own that got nomination for the Grammys but failed to win the award, instead of them to congratulate and appreciate his works they went on to banter him and refer to him as a Mid Artist.

These things are normal in Nigeria and it doesn’t matter what position you hold you will be cooked when are are not doing the right things.

The Nigerian government are selfish, they are not ready to make things work for the citizens. The hardship is much and the government is yet to do anything that will make life easier, instead things are getting worse as inflation is becoming high.
The president is used to such cruise and that’s why they are not taking any action about that.
Nigeria has a terrible leadership problem, every elected leader seem to be after their personal interests and don’t really care about the people after promising them heaven on earth. It is bad seeing the situation of the country get worse day by day and it’s now like as a new leader is appointed things will get even more worse than it used to be.

This is supposed to be in off topic not politics and society. If the people are laying curses on there president, how does that affect us?
There are so think we don't have to bring to the forum because no one really cares.
This is not a forum where junks would be dropped for unrealistic discussion. We need to grow up and understand that nobidy cares about all this. We know that the present days, things are always been expensive.

It is perhaps a bit confusing that some groups express a disrespectful attitude towards their leaders, I do not want that misunderstanding because it does not include all the children of the country, and even some children doesn't understand anything about politics and is infected with opinions by adults.

Although I also see some problems with the governing apparatus, they cannot create trust and do not create good relationships with their citizens. Perhaps there will have to be political reform and change, a contradiction and conflict that will not be able to end, but children are raised in an environment where they have to fight or be dominated by default, a country that is not real safety.

Try not to hide the caused of why those kids layed curses in Mr Tinubu the Nigerian president, it's all because there's a high hardship of living in the country which is becoming unbearable with some people here in the country. The kids despites the fact that they're still tendered and ought to be less concerned about governances has been attracted to questions their parents and guardians about how they're unable to provide foods and or essential needs for them anymore as usual and they where responded that it's because of the current State of governance system lead by the Mr President Tinubu.
It was a call for crying out loud and the kids got no weapon to unleash to the situation other than laying curses. That's all that they could utter their feelings to justify their emotions. It's absolutely a heartbreakening.
Meanwhile it should be noted that it wasn't only Tinubu that has been at the lines of being cursed by the citizens but also some other past presidents such as Buhari that handed over this hardship government to Tinubu and Tinubu consciencelessly maybe came up with the Buhari Pro Max.

90% of parents of those northern Nigeria children that laid curse on the president, his excellency senator Bola Ahmed Asewaju Tinubu because hunger and hardship across the country were ready to kill their fellow Nigerians to ensure that Tinubu succeed Buhari as Nigeria president just because religion without knowing his charisma and competency.
I think their parents majorly to our predicament. This should be a great lesson to Nigeria when making decision about leadership because whatever choice we make in chosing who to decide our political fate will surely hunt us in the near future and every wrong voting we made will be to the detriment of the entire nation and even to the next generation.

I know that since we are talking about Nigeria, this is a topic which is likely to be about the hardships the population of that African country is going though. But leaving that to one side there is an important point I would like to present to all of you:
I believe there has no been any national authority, president, emperor or king in the history of humanity who has not been cursed at least one by part of their co-citizens, commoners or associates.
By the time being, I would bet all presidents currently sitting in their positions have been cursed by someone within the opposition to their administration. I would say it is something normal, as part of democracy, so there is nothing new about this, despite of being a child the one who is doing the cursing against a politician.
I personally believe one is not supposed to teach children how to curse or swear against anyone, but that is just part of the way I was taught as I grew up.

Politicians at this stage of their game seeking for power and influence must be so accustomed to curses that they do not even care anyone about who they are screwing over with their shady practices.  Roll Eyes

Curse? Who cares about it? Especially the Nigerian government which don't give a damn about any of it's citizens, how does this affect them? The only chance people get to show their power and voice is during the elections and people should pledge on voting for someone who is not corrupt and a fresh face who is willing to develop the country and improve the standard of living of it's people. But the real curse has been upon some of the African nations as their heros are either assassinated or they become dictator once voted to power. I would say Nigeria needs a fresh face who is qualified as we need to check the person's previous work before voting for them.

Man, it's going to be a long battle between the good and corrupt which eventually good will win and I wish Nigeria with the kind of natural resource and mineral wealth should become a developed country and may it's citizens who are going through the worst have better life.
