Bitcoin price chart from October 2016 before the rise to $1100

I have a thought that we might retest the rising trendline in blue. As one of many outcomes

By correction he is trying to narrate the movement of the chart regardless of opinions for fundamental or quality either side.

my personal view Tongue  I believe bitcoin is acting strongly or it appears to be well past some kind of obvious play to a downside such as 700
I thought the Chinese New Year might have more influence but wider aspects such as Trump and Chinese government abductions of some of the worlds richest citizens might be far more important

It fits within fib levels very neatly?  Is this a weak looking situation to people really

Look at this last recovery, thats pretty impressive

First time to be seen: 50.03 percent of nodes running core 0.13.1 and 0.13.2! Plus those few 0.13.99, the majority of fullnodes is pro-segwit!

Segwit is a new type of transaction that solves a lot of issues and allows for a lot of new features to be added more easily/safely.
To name a few things it does... segwit transactions reduce the amount of space needed by the main blockchain as the witness data that can later be discarded is put in a separate data structure.
Segwit transactions also solve malleability issues which is a serious headache for developers building ontop of bitcoin. It also allows for future expansion of new features such as making bitcoin truly fungible which needs to happen at some point. It also makes the Lightning Network that is in development are much cleaner solution.
What they are saying is the number of computers running the full bitcoind client that is capable of understanding and issuing segwit style transactions is over 50%.
The marker for it actually being usable however is the number of the mining nodes supporting segwit (i.e. bitcoind clients but they are actually running mining hardware), this needs to be > 95% before segwit transactions can be activated to be safe but this is still stuck at 23%.

Guess what OP is trying to highlight is that most users are keen on seeing SegWit approved but the miners are still holding off. I don't know why they are holding off adopting it but I guess they have their reasons...

Wow!

This is/was a good analysis article. Joel also does weekly videos on Youtube. His forecasts have a high win/loss ratio. I recommend him.

(sometimes gets it wrong, but he is top 5 best chartists i have encountered).

His ichimoku style of analysis has also rubbed off on me. I m going to pick it up as a tool

This TK disequilibrium coupled with a touch of the potential reversal zones, pitchfork median line, and 76.4% fibonacci retracement level of the previous move, meant that there was enough technical evidence for a breakdown. The PBoC meeting was just more fuel for the bear fire.

Conclusion
The omnipresent PBoC will continue to impact price, likely in a bearish manner. Bearish Technicals or weakening Bullish Momentum aligning with these meetings means large dumps will be afoot. Overall, long term trend remains strongly bullish will no threat to Bitcoin protocol. Miners continue to add hash rate week over week signalling strength in Bitcoin’s medium and long term future. Technicals are leaning bullish with a strong possibility of extended consolidation.
