Very qustionable ruling today on Dota - Empire vs Cookiss :
I had bets on ML, spread, map1 and map2
Empire shows up late, so Cookiss get a def win for map1 = ML and Spreads get canceled = no problems here, agree
Map2 plays out as normal, cookiss do win = Nitrogen cancels line for map2 = really?
Its obvious that you do cancel ML/Spread by your rules, but bet for map2 was in no way correlated to anything else, and the map was played out. The arguments that support provided for the map2 cancelation was along the lines of having the info of team being late to the match gives advantage in betting on map2. Okay. However, does not apply in this case, because all my bets were made prior the start of the match, before anything happened at all.
It was a very small bet, but i am still very unhappy to see the legit bet being canceled without any logical reasons to do so.
As it stands:
when the team play out map1 and forfeits map2 = nitrogen grades map1 and cancels map2
when the team forfeits map1 and play out map2 = nitrogen cancels everything
Does not make much sense to me, to be honest.
Hey Magic,
Support has filled me in on your issue and this is what I've come to understand:
"Wagers on Empire vs Cookiss were cancelled in accordance with our esports rule #10 on walkovers: "If a player/team is given a walkover on at least one map before the match starts, all wagers on the moneyline and spread will be cancelled and refunded."
In this case, rule #13 on awarded maps would not apply due to the fact that our lines were based on the assumption that this would be a fully played out best of three match. The default result on Map 1 resulted in all odds being altered and "bad" which means that general site rule #1 on bad lines applies."I can understand your frustrations with having your wager for map 2 being cancelled. However, our odds are typically adjusted to take into account awarded maps in the order that they are played. In this case, the first map played (Map 2 as listed in the event) should have had different odds because it was technically the first match played in the series. According to our rules, all the wagers have been canceled and your risked funds for the wager have been returned.
I can understand that this was a bit of a letdown for you and I apologize for the inconvenience.
Feel free to reach out to me with any additional feedback,
Calvin
