Nocks is not a store that hangs a pricetag on a product at a price they see fit.
It's an exchange where the price is determined by supply and demand.
See https://www.nocks.com/trade/NLG-EUR

Now as an extra service you can buy Gulden at Nocks using iDeal or Bancontact but that's a frontend where you actually do a marketbuy on the exchange.

That begs the question, where does the NLG come from? Nocks is the seller. They may call it different things now but that was the setup

Gulden is doing very well if you compare it to the downfall of Bitcoin.

Maybe a good time to sell Bitcoin and other coins and start witnessing Gulden?

What do you guys think  Huh

Lot of good things coming up for Gulden in the future and they have a strong community and good developers so hidden gem?

Simple question. Not trolling. Genuine curiosity. Hopefully someone devoted to Gulden can reply.

If NLG is worth what it claims to be, why is Nocks still selling it at the current price?  Why not 0,20 euro or 0,50 euro which I think is a good psychological support level for investors and merchants alike?

Why is Nocks (related company) pegging NLG to the depressed prices?

So I noticed this is going to be delisted from Coinomi... Thats a real pity, as I use that wallet a lot. The warning on Coinomi wallet is there, though not in the most visible place, so can be easily overlooked.

To my own subjective assessment, NLG devs' behaviour on this issue was childish and unreasonable. But well, everyone has his own view, especially in conflict situation, especially in as stupid and unnecessary conflict as this one is.

Forcing Coinomi to delist, means creating problems both for Coinomi and for NLG owners who use Coinomi (which is a really unique and extremely helpful application), as they will lose their coins if they're not tech-savvy enough to extract their NLG wallet private key.

Anyway, I hope Coinomi will handle this the right way, and nobody will lose his coins because of this childish dick-measuring contest.

Is Richpissman the test case?!?! lol

Whoehaha, if that would be the case, you are all screwed! It would mean buying and selling Gulden and discussing it or it's developers is punishable by law. They would put every single one of us here in harms way.

Wake up folks!

[addit] It's probably just some Gulden follower working for the OM that has invited Rijk to speak about blockchain security at his bosses office. Personally, I do hope they would promote their own developments more this way, they even wouldn't have top blow it out of proportions like this tweed!

Funny how time always ends up proofing me right  Grin

If you own a Raspberry and have GuldenD running on it there are some settings that could influence how well it works.
If you are totaly unfamiliar with navigating a linux systme from the commandline and your RPI is working fine you do not have to do anything, if it ain't broken don't fix it.
For these changes you need access to the commandline, either via VNC, SSH or by connecting a keyboard and monitor (TV with HDMI will work fine) to it.  Then edit the file Gulden.conf using the command:
`nano /opt/gulden/datadir/Gulden.conf`

1) When Phase-3 went live there were problems with high CPU and memory usage.  We found some workarounds by then that alleviated the problem but are not necessary anymore since version 2.0.0.9 (Or even counterproductive now):
----------
maxmempool=20       <-- remove
dbcache=20                <-- remove
maxsigcachesize=4    <-- remove
rpcthreads=1              <-- remove
par=2                           <-- remove
minimallogging=1       <-- remove, this is now the default on RPIs

2) 'tweaks' that _are_ usefull on RPIs.  (If you made changes to these before please check the values given below)
---------
maxreceivebuffer=1024   <---- default = 5000 which is a bit high imo (5MB).
maxsendbuffer=256         <---- 512 is also fine.
maxconnections=60         <---- Around 50 or 60 is fine.  Do not go higher than 75 on an RPI unless you know what you are doing.

These settings also apply on more beefy nodes running on a VPS although there you can go way higher on maxconnections= but that depends on how powerfull your (virtual) CPUs actually are.

3) Add the adress of one or two (more than two is not necessary) known stable and up to date nodes.  By doing this your node connects to this one first which means it will probably elect it as the 'preferred download'.
----------
addnode=83.161.66.135
addnode=185.167.206.35

All of these also apply for beefier nodes running on VPSes and whatnot with the exeption of 'maxconnections='.  More powerfull machines can go with a much higher number there depending on the exact power of your (virtual) CPUs.  400 or more is cool if it's faster than an Intel Atom and has 2GB RAM (ymmv).

This coin has a lot of good tech, why don't the devs start a new coin with a different branding?

Branding is good, tech is good, marketing sucks.

When is the next reward halving for this coin?

This coin has no reward halving. My guess is the next halving will be the rate though, they have those every quarter or so  Grin

Is there a total amount of coins that will be minted or 100 reward forever?

Total max coins 1,680 million, reward fixed @ 100/block.

Dev's tend to bend the rules as they please though, so nothing is written in stone.

Crux of story:

Following this our CEO made the call, with which I agree that it would be best to simply ask Coinomi to remove us rather than to waste time providing support to someone unwilling to follow the correct channels.

Yeah. Like NLG needs Coinomi.

"Our immediate calls for assistance at their github were met with hostile and unhelpful comments - after a while, our request was even tagged as "off topic" and closed. We were shocked to receive an even more aggressive reply from them in our Support the next day."

Immediate?  13 days ago, Gulden v2 came out more than 2 month ago
Hostile comments? Maybe short and dry instead of super friendly explaining him basics of how blockchains work. It's github, not slack/forum chat. Some understand the difference, others obviously not.

Other side of the story:
https://dev.gulden.com/a-clarification-on-coinomi/

They (coinomi) demanded money to delist NLG because they could not handle the chain?

And for those who can read a block format:
https://github.com/Gulden/gulden-official/issues/138

LOL he sees a block getting orphaned after the chain tip increased (longer chain), doesn't understand it and demands changes to keep the orphaned one valid (means to invalidate the valid one with the rest of the valid blocks following).
Make a guess what would happen than?

The first block he saw (the orphaned one) was only propagated to a part of the network before it was replaced by the second version (and its followup block).
And to make it clear: There is not 1 blockchain out there that has no orphans and all handle them by themself (see chain reorg).
Orphans are unavoidable and and part of the blockchain design is to handle them.
