It's possible he thought that thread was the reason for the price being crushed lately  Wink

I took a dump 5 minutes ago, no marketing.

Thx then there is more for normal people who appreciate this coin  Grin

Good article again JeanLuc and i am going to help on a few points to help out Malcolm and Gulden.

Few easy things like rating app and github. Maybe going to contribute to Wikipedia and going to order something online with https://www.deonlinedrogist.nl

I've been around for a long while now, i've seen people moan and whine about every little nitty detail over the years. It's better to have good foundation than none at all. The flavour of late is marketing *oh bu hu cry me a river* there are projects in the top 15 that can't seem to get their shit together with a non existing product and millions upon millions poured into poorly thought out marketing and what are their communities begging for? Development.

So pick a goddamn side already and roll with it.

Is Rijk going to market this update or is this a underground movement ?
What about changing the name to ingroupcoin .

I asked a few people I speak too on IRC if they felt Gulden was a contender for the top 50 with PoW2 and SegSig. These investors have a lot of stock in the top 30 coins on coinmarketcap. This was one of the replies...

"What is Gulden?"

Does this answer your question?

Isn't Peercoin PoW2? They have PoW and PoS that you have mentioned in this article.

In Peercoin you sign a block with EITHER PoW OR PoS. in PoW2 you sign with PoW AND PoS. That's a huge difference for security reasons. Malcolm discusses this detailed in the Whitepaper.

Edit:
Find the Whitepaper here:
https://guldenpagina.nl/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/tmp_25790-Gulden_PoW22819007230.pdf

Relevant paragraph:
Quote
3.4. Combined PoS/PoW
Some coins like Peercoin – combine PoS and PoW – the theory being that
this makes the coin twice as secure. However, in reality, this doesn’t hold true,
the problem is that the PoW and PoS miners are competing with each other
to generate blocks. This, in turn, means more orphans and fewer profits for
miners, which means reduced hash rate. This at best means the gains are much
less than expected and at worst means that it actually makes the security worse.
If multiple PoS blocks in a row is a common sight then only PoS is required to
perform an attack, and vice-versa if multiple PoW blocks in a row is a common
sight then only PoW is required to perform an attack. In short instead of being
as strong as both; it is instead only as strong as the weakest of the two, thus
opening the coin up to more attacks and not less.

"PoW² - phase 2": {

Thanks for this, it's hard for people to keep up if you not on slack. General public don't know what is going on because of the poor standards of marketing this coin has.

When does the reward drop take place? This week or next month or next year?

I'd say in roughly 5 days from now.
As far as I know the current signaling-phase will last for two 3,5-day windows and it looks the criterium will be met.
That means that then Phase-2 will activate in which people can start funding their witnessaccounds. A minimum of 300 accounts have to be created with a total 'weight' of 20000000, it is expected this will take only little time.

Now Phase-3 will go active where witnessing activates, witnesses get G20 and miners G80 per block.

It looks like we don't have to worry much that there won't be 75% mined by Gulden 2.0 miners while the phase2 signalling.
Phase 3 incoming  Grin

So having a single pool with over 60% of the hashrate is a good thing for a pow coin???

I remember ghash.io getting squashed for having 52% of BTC hashes!

What ever happened to decentralization??

Look again numbnuts.

I think what GuldenUpdater wants to say is: The hashrate was inbalanced at that moment because the biggest pool disabled Gulden because it didn't want to update to 2.0 yet. Since people are eager to push the PoW2 forward they mined mainly on the first pool to confirm being on 2.0.

I'ts nice to see that the miners spread out again and also that enough pools have updated already, so that this is even possible.
