Can we stop comparing Gulden to ICO’s! It’s like comparing apples to pears. Completely different products.
Gulden is a blockchain based payment system. One of the few projects worldwide with their own blockchain. And probably the safest ever build.
Let’s compare Gulden to Euro or Dollar, that’s where it is targeting at. To make it easier, faster and cheaper than those paymentsystems.
I have a great respect to you JeanLuc, but I do not think that gulden should be compared to Euro or Dollar. I know with knock a good system is in place, but to be realistic , gulden already lost the war to be a easier payment system. GAFA are already the winners. (Google, Apple, Facebook , ...) you can send money very easily to anyone in a message. And local payment system are also very developed. In Canada by example we send money to everyone only with his email or phone number. It's used by all the canadian bank , and the fees is 0.00$ !!!
Why do I would registered on a website (like Nock if i was European) bittrex for North Am citizen , buy Btc , change my btc for Gulden, and pay in gulden. If I do that I pay directly in BTC that's all. That what all the miners did to pay for L3+. Btc with another third party like nock could be changed to prepaid visa or mastercard so you can virtually spend it everywhrere.
For sure BTC it's not a good idea for a coffe or small direct transaction.
I used Gulden only for wire to Europe IT WAS very good, but it's not anymore. They removed, the possibilty to send money to a iban which is not registered on nock. Officialy because you can not put name of the recipient on the gulden wallet. I think rather it's for cause of money laudering.
For sure Gulden has a place in payment system , but it will stay marginal and use only by few geeks or altermondialists.
Thanks for the insights on the Canadian situation. We also have a ‘sent direct to friends’ system called Tikkie (Netherlands). But it stil involves banks or as you mention big corporate companies like Facebook, parties I really do no trust, they are even worse than banks and governments. So what we need is a truly decentralised payment system. Fast, secure and still easy to use.
By the way Alias is on the Gulden roadmap to make it more easy to send Gulden directly to friends.
Nocks is great, but I can forsee that more of those kind of companies will enter the Gulden Eco system.
Maybe one from Canada? Or China? Who knows. Anyone can develop on top of the Gulden Blockchain.
P.S. the IBAN limitation is something from the EU, so not Nocks induced. It will be solved in one of the next wallet updates.
