Some people like the OP might be very happy to get a message that he got a very big gift, but from someone he never knew. this is because of their ignorance of the scammer's methods to trap the victim and the victim is very easy to be tricked and tricked into doing the given task.
Trying to be on the safe side of course must know what the scammer's methods are and not trust unknown people who give gifts or give massive discounts on offered investments.

Do you what happened to you?
You were much desperate to make an earning from unknown person after much advices from various thread how scammers do use to scam people in various social media. I won't lay any blame to the scammer but you because i believe belonging to this forum could make you much wiser instead of just being scammed, then i have received lot of pm and messages from many social to invest with them most especially Telegram this sets of people are very common on TG after you were being scammed they will immediately changed their telegram username to what i don't know before you knew it they block and runaway.
To be at safer side, whenever you receive an investment messages just block them instantly otherwise you could be convinced to invest with them without knowing they are fake and scammers.

In other words, we need to do our due diligence and use common sense. Learn how to have a second thought mentality rather than just simply believing on what your “fake friend” has offered you.

Also learn how to always double, triple or multiple check the links and social media handles that were shared to you to see if they are legit or not. In my case when a scammer attempts to scam me with his ridiculous post trying to collaborate with me, I usually go to the official Discord or Telegram to verify it to the admins if this guy is indeed working with them or not.

If yes, then we continue the collaboration. If not, I’ll automatically block that person.

Before you sign up does he redirect you to a specific URL similar to the Binance site.?
Social media is a nesting place for scammers, most of the scams come from there. Don't easily trust anyone you just know, especially when it comes to finances. The way he persuaded him to invest more money seemed coercive, Your doubts and bad feelings have saved you from a bigger loss.

Next time watch out for the kind attitude of people you just meet on social media because they could be "weasel in sheep's clothing". If there is something you want to know you can ask here, the Seniors will be happy to help answer your questions.

The point where social media becomes unsafe is when the principle of its existence has been ignored. That is, beyond using instagram, Facebook, tiktok do the purpose it was designed for, seeking other use for it is what attracts interests we often do not need.
Indeed, we must use social media wisely and limit what can be shared and what cannot. This principle cannot be ignored. Because, social media can be accessed by people from anywhere, and life on social media is virtual life, not real. A person can disguise himself as someone else, with other characteristics. And many swindlers pretend to be nice, to be helpers. Because of this, we must have boundaries, especially when meeting new people, and never trust new people, especially those who offer ways of investing and trading on a platform. Social media always has positive ad negative sides, that is why we must also be smarter, wiser, and more careful in any action.

Re: No social media is safe

No social media is safe.. because these types of scams are mostly spread through social media sites in the first place. And scammers will find more and more enticing ways to find victims; so the only real solution here is to think realistically and in a non-delusional manner.

"if it's too good to be true, it probably is."

Anything is not safe in cyberspace. Most scammers will target those high audiences like social media and other platforms since there are many people on it, and they can find the target easily. I can't imagine scammers nowadays exert a lot of effort like it is their job to scam you. They will spend time and a lot of flowering words to scam you, and still, some people are not made aware of this modus. When someone tries to ask you to invest in it, and your money will be back in a small period of time without any effort, then you should be cautious and have a background check on it.

One of few reasons why we need to put more detailed information on our social media handles since it can be a good indicator to them that you are a nice target. So better stay low key and always use social media as your means of communication so that you can avoid to get scam or getting any harm by people who always do crime using the modern tech nowadays.

Social media has advantages and disadvantages but in the world of crypto there are many scammers out there trying their best, working 24 hours in order to find a victims using social media platforms and we should be aware with this kind of people. And you are right this mate staying in low key has a low percentage to be scammed because the more you put an private information on public the more the high percentage of being scammed.

The advantage of it you use social media on business for sure you can spread out your products by just multiple posting it on different groups or in marketplace. But if you are posting to much information like flexing your status, where you are and wealth maybe this will lead you to danger so best to stay low key if you don't have running business using social media to avoid any harm.

Like someone suddenly starts chatting with you because you liked a page or made a comment to show how rich one is, is clearly red flags to the way it was intended for use.
Private and family photos are often times discouraged, location information and other personal details with which one can be blackmailed or followed around with is a no-no for social media. Most importantly of all is making new friends on line. Not every one is a friend online. Some are just spies and we are to be careful too.

I agree! There are so many scammers that will make you feel like they are the most genuine people in the market. Honestly, I avoid talking with traders. All traders/investors should be aware of the common scams people do on social media.

I always remember a sentence from a book > "truly successful people don't easily tell their secrets", like MLM members or Ponzi scammers, they lure other people with sweet promises and future success which is all just a fantasy. always suspicious of people who suddenly become friendly with you on social media, even if it's your sibling (sibling you haven't been in touch with for a long time).

Social media is safe in some ways.
What isn't safe is to have a conversation with a complete stranger and trying to invest into his project or scam or whatever it is called.
What isn't safe is to just invest your money without proper research.
What isn't safe is to just interact with some random stranger out there and you falling into his alluring sales talk and invested into what he is saying.

That isn't safe. Social media is still safe if we are talking about investing because in the end, you are the one who will decide whether you will invest or not. You can prevent yourself from getting scammed if you will not interact with strangers. You can prevent getting scammed if you know which are scam and which are not. You can prevent getting scammed if it's too good to be true already.

Scamming is very rampant in social media and if you play like you can easily trust even strangers, that's when they start seeing you as a new target. The moment that you were asked to put more money on your investment, that's already a red flag. You should not be investing in the first place if you think that you lack knowledge in it. Be more realistic. Everything is earned through hard work, and if that person has promised you for a huge return in an instant, its clearly one way of deceiving you. No one gets to earn without no effort made.

Social media is now a place to find new targets to be scammed and social media is not a comfortable place to chat about business, especially with people you just met.
If he has started pointing you towards something you don't already know, it's best to take some time to learn it and if you find it strange, you shouldn't continue to be friends with him.
We have to be more careful on social media because we really don't know who really wants to help us or just wants to trick us.
If it's about money, just say that you don't have money and you don't work at all.

You can't trust the persons you have met online and most of the scams are through these platforms. The people fall for them in greed or any other way but regret later on.Use these social platforms for your knowledge and avoid contacting with unknown persons who demand money from you.The security steps should be taken with care to protect yourself.

During the covid crisis, I met a man on Facebook, who was friendly and chatty our conversation was normal,so we exchanged numbers and move to Whatsapp and share massages,
You communicating with a stranger is the first step of a high risk structured investment offer scam and he measures your potential in investment knowledge, then bid greed begins!

Quote
On the third that he persuaded me to invest more money so that I will earn bigger but I instead to see and withdraw the first investment before making or investing more but he keep on persuading me so i starting have doubts and bad feelings about it ,
You didn't provide specific investment information, but I assume that he is the owner/team of an investment type website or an affiliate member who invites the victim to add as much funds as possible for fake profits.

Quote
i contacted the customer service again they also demanded for more money, At this moment i absolutely knew that I have been scammed.
Extortion is very heinous, even though you are part of the investor supporting the development of the project, but you are not treated like an investor from the platform service team.

You have to resist the temptation of fake profit offers from every social media post, scammers use access to millions of social media users to lure investment victims to specific websites. You must diligently understand the basics of investing and be able to identify fraudulent investment strategies to avoid the risk of losing your funds in vain. Control your money and control your mind.

Social media has turned out to be a place different manners of scammers exit. I hardly click on a link sent to me by a close friend talk more of a stranger I met on social media. Social media is not a place you can easily trust someone. Avoid anyone persuading you to click on a link to sign-up cos it doesn't end well. We're on a stage of everyone is finding who to scam. Don't ever trust anyone

Strangers don't have any good intent for you when they PM you first, internet is now full of scammers who pretend to have something good to offer but that's all lies, become the boss of yourself do not listen to strangers or receive any private messages from them.

This is the truth because when they started to approached you via email or pm, you need to be alarmed and automatically consider it a scam right away because they already calculated and have all the recipes once you reply to their message and you might even think that they were the best man in the world while they were acting. When they knew their victim is simple-minded, that's when they let you do things that you aren't even aware of it being scammed. The best thing to do is ignore and delete the message once you receive such kinds of offers.
Being scammed through social media are becoming common. Strangers for the most part have no great plan if offering money making method just for simple clicks. Our simple mistakes can lead harmful things. Basically when a strangers approach you through pm or any methods they have most certainly interest include it. However, Ignore and delete the messages with unconscious mind not would be the best arrangement. But, verify because some messages could turn out qualified to peruse as well as ideal technique to follow.
