as of today, there is a new voluntary and non-paid campaign related to casino scam allegations - this campaign is led by Little Mouse!

Scam Accusation List against Casino | Signature Campaign

the following thread (created by holydarkness) is linked to behind this signature: [ LIST] Scam Accusation Cases Against Betting Platform on The Forum

Thanks. Sounds like a really worthwhile initiative. I've added it to the first post.

Another update: I removed Trump 2024 given the elections are round the corner and it will soon be obsolete anyway.

It's a great idea to gather this signatures in one place.

It seems to me that the greatest fighter for freedom of speech Julian Assange has been undeservedly forgotten.
He got his freedom! I would love to put a signature in his support.

It may sound like: Celebrate Julian's freedom!

I hesitated on this one a bit but decided to add Trump 2024 to the list.
It's not an endorsement of any kind and I will be happy to add a counter candidate if anyone bothers to create a signature.

I have not seen AOBT signature yet pawel7777, not sure if this is non-profit, as it is 50:50 (can be paid for business purposes & free for community purposes), maybe you could consider it.
Thanks. I've added it to the first post.
They offer free translations for meaningful topics, and I've seen Cygan posting a lot of free translations of that nature on the Polish local board, so I think the project is worth adding.

Hi!

It is true that we are open to working with private initiatives in exchange for a reward in sats -we would not be able to advertise the AoBT in the "services" section otherwise-, but our work has been almost exclusively pro bono so far.

Thank you Pandorak for proposing our signature to be added to this initiative, and thanks to pawel7777 too for the recognition and for accepting us Smiley

Since I have no signature campaigns will be one, this was a good thread I never knew that there were more Non-profit signatures as well, I mostly see PeachBitcoin.

I can see some of the signatures were posted years ago, so this was a good promotion for some of them, being added to this list.  Smiley

Unfortunately, I can no longer find the non-profit campaign thread above. It may have been deleted or moved to a restricted section, that's the message I get when I try to access the url. If this is removed for some reason, then you can remove it from the OP.

I hope I'm not missing something, but here's the message when I try to access the thread.

Thanks for flagging this up.
That's a bit strange. I reckon the topic must've been removed by mods (as mentioned by examplens), potentially due to the BitList website containing a list and links to the mixers, but I was sure this was allowed. Maybe the approach is judgmental and depends on each moderator.
I've replaced the link to the campaign topic with the link to the ANN topic.

I like this idea!

And while the idea is great, I think perhaps we can add to it.

Non-profit does not necessarily have to mean non-reward. What if we added non-monetary rewards?

For example: Participants get paid in special tokens, which they could trade in for special Bitcointalk badges (comparable to the pizza badge or art contest badge)?

This would incentivize the participation, I think. And I am sure Theymos would not mind adding a badge or two for the sake of a good thing. And the participants would receive  well-deserved acknowledgment from the community for doing charity.

Thanks. That's some out-of-the-box thinking, but I don't think admins would ever go with that, as that would require a lot of effort even just to clarify the conditions of who would qualify for such a badge etc, i.e. is it any non-profit signature (some projects could be controversial or frowned upon), how long would the participant have to wear the signature for, who would be monitoring if they indeed wear it etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if this signature is disallowed in line with the mixer promotion ban. Mixers are certainly an important part of the site, so in a way it can be considered as a promotion of links to mixer sites.

It looks like a match to this
But there seems to be some confusion around promotion. It would be allowed to post even a positive review thread for ExampleMixer, just as long as you don't post the UR]L and you don't violate the other rules. Promotion is only disallowed in signatures, avatars, and profile-bios; not posts.

Great initiative OP!
I've been thinking for a while about creating signatures to support non-profit projects that could be used between campaigns.

I was thinking of a signature with a link to donate to the Tor Project in crypto/Bitcoin, one for SimpleX, etc... My goal would be to have a thread offering a dozen or so signatures of this type, so that anyone who wants to can find a signature they like. There are an huge number of projects to support, which sometimes offer us the means to enjoy our freedom.
Unfortunately, for now, I still haven't had the time to create the signatures but I will try to do it before the end of the summer.

It's a good initiative indeed, but it can only be complete if this thread gets pinned to the top on this board, else, I did say that every thread gets buried and this one will likely get buried too if for some reasons, op stops being active on this thread and other users stop commenting here as well.

It's probably not the kind of topic that would get pinned. I'll try to bump it every now and then if it gets buried hopefully with some update. But I think if enough people have it on their watchlists, if they make use of it when they're outside of any paid campaign, and if they post something from time to time, there's a chance it could stay afloat.

But if it doesn't get any traction and dies, so be it. At least we tried Smiley

Looks like @icopress has opened another one of its non-profit signature campaign. Each participant who joins is only expected to post their username, he also makes rules that may disqualify users from the campaign if they post spam or other bad things.

This is a good initiative mate since the threads in the service board for the non-profit signature campaign will get buried by other threads and you will have to see the next page unless it is bump by a forum member just like what icopress did with peach bitcoin sig thread.
That's a good point, anyway, having a dedicated thread as some had said might be the best approach to this which could be bumped once in a while as we often see users do on some threads. Of course, these projects are worth advertising but the lack of incentive attached to it is the issue.

I resolved to that suggestion as best because after reading what everyone wrote on this thread, I discovered that almost all who supported it are in campaigns and I believe that they will also prefer to change to another paid campaign if anything happens to the current one rather than a free service.

For this, you will only be seeing support for these projects by lip and not by action. The only time you may see otherwise is when a concerned user is not yet favourable to joining a campaign.

You will agree with me that several good initiatives like this have been started on this forum; on different boards before, but it takes good discipline and great dedication for the op not to lose interest as time goes by.

Yeah, I think Meta is much more suitable as this thread is not about any specific service and could potentially include all kinds of other initiatives. In fact, there are already 2 of them that don't fall in the Service category: BitcoinCleanUp and Bitcoin.org (unless we want to classify providing information as a service).

And I think the mods have agreed since the topic is still here.

i remember making one for Bisq Market Day

i would be happy to help and create/design signatures for free, for any non-profit, or community initiatives Smiley
if anyone have any suggestion or needs one, let me know.

Bisq  definitely deserves the high profile here on forum. Would be nice if you modify your "Market Day" signature, reflecting several  important features of this p2p exchange  like its fully decentralized nature,  DAO on bitcoin blockchain,  open-source app and  commitment to TOR.

I'm active bisq/bisq2 user and as a matter of fact was thinking of designing such signature by myself but my  lack of experience in bbcoding ( specially logo images) would make this process a bit lengthy.

Thus, If you design such signature I will wear it with the pleasure at the time when my relevant space is free.

I'm not sure what you wanted to point out here, these are the offered signatures for volunteers and there is no fee for wearing them. However, apart from councleanup, all other services are commercial services.
I think you can wear any signature (even some from regular, paid signature campaigns), so I see no reason to attach importance to it.
As far as I know, some managers and similar services have their signature codes and everyone is free to use them voluntarily

The Bitcoin.org probably also falls under non-commercial project (depending on how we define such) but I do understand your point.
Generally speaking, this thread is for "worthy" projects/initiatives that benefit bitcoin (or wider) community and that people might choose to support even without any financial compensation.
Sure, what is or isn't "worthy" is highly judgemental, just as the line between purely commercial projects and those run primarily for the good cause can be blurry. But just because we cannot define that super-precisely is not necessarily a reason to not have such topic.
Personally I'm happy to promote any good projects for free when I'm not participating in any campaign and hopefully others do too, so I think there is a case for having some sort of summary of such.

I really like this initiative and all those who aren't in any signature campaign should wear these signatures and help for the awareness/cause.

I didn't know how to design a signature but if i knew, I would have made a signature for a public service message for appealing for humanity to have peace in the world and no war in the current times where we are so near to a world war   Undecided

Goodnight, ohh Leo!!! 🦅
That's a good one from pawal.
I've been in atleast one of those non-profit signature campaigns... Bitcoincleanup was really thing... Since it was about stoping/cleaning up the FUD and stupid lies that caused alot of stir and created pessimism in the whole bitcoin ecosystem. Unfortunately, I was in an active campaign - Trustdice.

However, since I had an intention of promoting one of those projects, peachbitcoin became a good option. Most accounts are temporarily out of campaigns; if we've got a thread to let them choose from it, then that's cool.
I never knew there was a campaign like this, honestly  Smiley

Are you suggesting that it is good to have a thread for non profit signatures or you have already created the thread. Being the op. If you are making suggestions for such, this post is ok here in meta. But if this is the thread about non profit signatures, it is not appropriate here, you may decide to open the thread in service announcement or service discussion board.

Also, since the majority of the community support the idea, you can lock this thread and open a new one to serve the purpose in service board.

I was about to point this out and from my signature you could see that I promotes Bitcoincleanup which is a good project that I think will help provides better Bitcoin ecosystem and also build better cleaner Bitcoin energy.
I can see only two of those kinds of free signature campaign and to a good extent members of this forum have shown a lot of support to those projects by wearing their signature and avatar, notable forum members like, NotATether with Bitcoincleanup and icopress with peachbitcoin charity signature campaign, I believe more other good members will come up with charity campaign in the future and members of the forum will show their support.
Currently, I do not wear any signature, but I think the account is more beautiful without a signature. it is a good initiative. I hope to add it to the forum’s advertising space. I remember it was here --->  https://bitcointalk.org/adrotate.php?adinfo. Was it deleted?

Why don't we just add those to the "Overview of signature campaigns" thread? It would make more sense to have all the non-profit signature campaigns (with at least 1000 views on the topic to prevent spam) at the bottom of the post, after all of the paid signature campaigns. No need for the fancy table formatting either, just a link to each thread with the name on it.

Good question, but I think, even if it's not explicitly stated, that thread is only meant for paid-for campaigns that pay out in bitcoins. Any campaigns that pay in anything other than BTC would be excluded, so, by that logic, I don't think Mitchell would go with that.
Also, ralle14, who tends to post the updates, already has a lot of work to keep it up to date.

This, instead of a new dedicated thread, since that thread (Overview of signature campaigns) is all for signature campaigns are bitcoin related while almost all mentioned initiative projects were bitcoin dedicated too. It's just that if Mitchell is convinced and approves to add those threads.

I've always got various projects on the go. My latest one is Save Old Cars , but that isn't really a Bitcoin thing. In fact it may be contrary to the modern tech philosophy. I reject the obsession with environmentally damaging electric vehicles, and the philosophy that brought them about. It was nothing to do with saving the planet, or improving peoples health, but all about gaining government control of private transport. OK, maybe that is associated with the government's attempt to control our finances.

ps. Save Old Cars is a part time project, and I need to do a lot more work on the site. I'm held up by problems restoring a couple of Volvo 740s.

It's a nice suggestion but I think since the forum has not taken responsibility for starting one before, it may not be part of what they may consider, also since they have been making warnings on participating in any signature campaign or service on the forum to be at one personal risk, they may not also consider creating one for members to wear in other not to appear being sentimental, the purpose for this platform is on Bitcoin discussion, every other agendas are secondary, but for the sake of the pretty ones available like bitcoincleanup.com charity signature and Peach Bitcoin Buy and Sell Bitcoin p2p are good examples one can voluntarily participate in.

It’s a forum sub board inclusion suggestion and as such, I think meta is the right place for such thread and I feel it’s a good suggestion.

Although, I don’t think it would be best we have a sub board for this. A different approach could apply. A system of arrangement as it’s used in the other languages board which,
We could have a pinned posts right there on the service board.
Users who wants to have these and that charity programs or campaigns would have to keep it posted there and updated.

That way, it doesn’t get washed up by the various active paid options and one looking to participate don’t get to search for long.

Nice suggestion @pawel777. I believe there are a couple of nice projects like this on the forum how ever it can be difficult to differentiate them from paid ones on the service board.  I agree with your suggestion Op however there are a couple of things you have to consider. Firstly I would say this thread should be updated with all available free signature campaigns and also you the Op should be quite active so that you can update the thread from time to time with newer ones.

Secondly I am not really sure if another thread like this already exists, and also , alternatively a thread carrying all the free signature campaigns can be created also in the service board and probably also pinned if the moderator sees it fit.

I was looking for a good free signature to fill up my space for the main time, and I saw this. I don’t know if you have come across the thread, as I believe some now match your description.

I thought it could be a good idea to have a dedicated thread for any worthy projects that members who are not participating in paid-for signature campaigns could advertise in their signatures.

It could be anything from charities (preferably those accepting bitcoins), informational websites, community initiatives (e.g. Pizza Day contest topic), raising awareness of certain issues (e.g. the Ross Ulbricht case) etc.

If anyone has anything, please post it here - include a link (if applicable) and a short description.
Of course, any ready-to-use signature code would be ideal, but if (like me) you don't have the skills to design such, you can post it without it. Maybe members who are in the signature design business could create signatures to showcase their skills and advertise their services.

The idea might not get much traction, but I think it's worth a try.

p.s. If Meta is not the right board for this - mods please move it.
p.s.2 If a similar thread already exists, please send a link and I'll lock this one.

Edit: Thanks for all the suggestions! Keep them coming.
If anyone has any ideas for a projects/initiatives worth promoting, feel free to post them in this thread. Zwei has kindly offered his help in creating/designing signatures for free.

Adding links and signature codes below for all initiatives that have been mentioned so far (and for which there are signatures designed):
