I think the video is just a gimmick, spearheaded from quanstamp who asked for proof of care to determine the level of allocation. And then more and more projects started to come up with all sorts of funny requirements. The problem with kyc of some projects is that there is no security in ensuring data are not hacked or misused.
Experty is one of them that lost user data.

The Experty example should be enough to frighten anyone.

I really hope the crypto community at large realizes the potential impact they are having by participating in this disturbing trend called KYC.  Please think through what crypto's true value is and pit that against providing all your personal info to individuals who you do not know and who cannot possible protect the data 100%.  Hopefully the fact that your actively hurting your own investments by doing so dawns on you.  Your freedom and future generations freedom may also be at stake.  Please wise up people.  You may have a real chance at financial freedom here if we can punish all projects who ask for this information.

Nope i will never do live kyc ever even the projects are very promising, why would i do that if i can invest after there ico those user who was able to get free coins from airdrop will surely sell their coins at a low price. I will just wait for that opportunity to come to hoard myself those coins.

WTF is up with having to do a live webcam feed to pass KYC to participate in airdrops, bounties and ICO's?  Are you guys actually doing this?  Seems like a huge personal security issue.  I don't even use the webcam to talk to my family let alone some mysterious crypto project that is going to do god knows what with my personal information.

.gov agent sets up project, finds out who is using this new currency that is in direct competition with theirs and now has you on video tape trying to purchase it.  Look up Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi to see what happens when you stop using the central bankers currency.

We as a community should come together to stop this.  Using JPMorgan is more private, secure and less risky than this.  I really see no point in Crypto other than to profit if this is the direction things are going.  It seems as though the movement is being dismantled.

It's not up to us to decide for that. The ICO Decides for that and usually if you don't want to do this you can either tell someone else to act as a proxy investor for you, or just wait till the ICO/airdrop is over and buy up the coins on the open market.

Many governments have banned ICOs or started regulating it strictly, that is the reason for these new stricter rules.

This won't impact other cryptos, it's just some ICOs have chosen to do this. It's a chore to invest now, though, for sure. And the opportunities are getting less and less.

I wouldn't join any ICO project that want me to do a live video or any type of video or even a photography verification. If you can't eliminate scammers and thieves from your project then I have no interest in your project. Usually I'm OK with KYC but they try to have ridiculous requests now.

I am skeptic about giving out my personal info at the most! Now making a live video just to be able to participate in campaigns is just freekin creepy! Too many crazy people on line are lurkin around today. My identity is mine to keep! That's the whole idea of anonymity in the first place! So the hell with these people!

I should say that I'm surprised because I never experienced such a requirment yet. However I pass 3-4 KYC a month, so... Dunno, I don't think that it is bad, their campagn - their rules, that's it... I recommend you just to relax and don't think that your "privacy" is the thing everybody want.

I hope to hell your not serious.  May your chains rest lightly.

In one of the other threads it asked when will crypto die?  Answer is when a majority of crypto users have the same perspective as the user I quoted.  Please study history.  Please rethink your stance.

Lol but I'm too, How those people are being so greedy to earn quick bucks from flipping through ico. But ico being so mad to earn money and why they are putting the more restriction to the participants?  This is not normal in my opinion. Look at how more and more new ico or even shit airdrop token putting KYC verification. Is it worth to earn some dollars with our identity? i can say no for that.

Of course it's big problem now. You should chose wisely  to whom give your data. In last few months there some new project for proper KYC.
GDPR will be implemented this summer and fines up to 20 000 000 euros if data are leaked.
Check icopass.id, some of guys on the team was developers for Latvia national ID card, electronic signature.

Invest in your knowledge
Just link all the scam airdrops and bounties here, so we can talk shit on them.

The best thing you can do, is make your voice heard in said location, and make posts about them.

You have said it sell. I totally not in support of such kind of kyc. Why would i go a long way to to video tape myself, just because i want to participate in an ICO. There are countless number of ICOs out there that one can choose from.

I totally agree, I generally think the idea of verification is absurd, but if they did, let it be, but  the video kyc its full bullshit

In general there is no way of bypassing this issue (KYC in bounteis and ICOs) because it is not done in order to collect your data and use it afterwards at least not initally. it is because the managment has an obligation to know from whicih contry participants are, almost all U.s citizens are forbidden to do so.

The short version is that do not participate in shady ICOs and airdrops because they do not care about your data protection. my suggestion is to participate in those KYC whicih are maanged by trsuted kYC companies which only gives out put to ICO holders ( as passed or not passed) but data is protected by them and they are interested to do so because it is theoir bussines and reputation.

The people with brains do the following,

1) Let the FOMO warriors do the videos and send in their passports.
2) Wait for them to dump (the price 99% of the time goes right down to the ICO price in the opening days)
3) Buy Anonymously on an exchange when the price dumps
4) WIN
5) Watch the FOMO warriors cry that they're a victim of identity theft or worse yet have their info used in a crime.

Never ever give your personal information to people online.  They are teaching this to my 7 year old in school.  Amazing adults are actually doing this.

Also keep in mind any project requiring this doesn't really care much about your personal security or the crypto movement at large so it may be better to boycott them.  We can make this BS stop if we all just simply say no.

I merited you for this we should not let these idiots steal our valuable information lest we know some of them will use this in their heinous activity, some of these Ico is not even legit and we are not regulated here, so why are they going to regulate their participants, this is bullshit.

It would be great if we could get a boycott list or website listing all the KYC projects so we know who to stay away from and to give the community a better sense of what projects to avoid.

Asking for our personal information over the internet from individuals who are running technology projects is unacceptable.

Just submitting a document is kind of annoying then there's a video now? What the heck are they trying to implement? I'm definitely not joining KYCs with such requirements. I did submitted few docs last time because of a bounty campaign but won't be doing anything more than that. It is such a hassle.

lol, video? really? I don't know what this project is, but it's cheating you. For kyc you only need photos of your documents and that all.
Yes thats right KYC just need photos of our ID or identity..  Lols,  really KYC needs video? What kind of project you join it? That's so funny to me, i never met the project like that. Maybe your project is scam and just want to get your infomation guys, you should be careful when choose the project which need KYC,  i'm afraid they misappropiate your identity.
