@joewinkler:

I'm curious, did you statically link the ssl libs in those builds?
I'm working on a RHEL6 build.

A more safe for work friendly SXC info site, let me know if you want to use it, if not I'll make it my un-offical page. Feedback comments and ideas appreciated. It's only what I could knock up this evening, will improve over the next week or so.

http://www.porndatabase.co.uk/sxc/

looks very good, but if i may ask, why is SXC not being listed as the accepted currencies on http://www.cryptosextoys.com/ ? shouldn't it be the primary crypto coin there?

That is a valid question.  Unfortunately the payment to cash conversion model I use on that site means I need to be able to clear out the accumulated credit each month, there needs to be buy orders on an exchange for the model to calculate the rate. As no exchange has taken the coin it cant be used in the model grrrr..... The pay flow model also affects coingas so adding the coin outside the system (no exchange) would be un-workable manually.

When it is taken on by an exchange it will used in sex toys, coingas and for xxx movie gifts and subs and advertising on the porn site.  Just deciding on how best to strengthen our position.

My personal opinion is that coins-e would be our best target, objectively speaking they are a weaker exchange.  SXC will have around 5 services starting at exchange launch, 5 more than most listed coins...

its a catch 22, you'll only get retailers once its listed on an exchange. But keep holding the list, i'm not yet at my million coin target, but getting there  Grin 750k to go

Linux Compile:
More info on Linux Compile Notes:

Could you update the first post, please?

I'm going to take a look at building the code tomorrow and see if I can create an RPM spec file that work with Fedora. Unless someone else is already doing that.

The problem with coins and fedora is that fedora ships openssl compiled without ECC.

I have OpenSUSE RPMs for various coins at https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=home%3Ap_conrad:coins (sexcoin still based on original source, but I'm working on moving to the new client repo).

Update: new client builds available

Sorry, I'm very impatient. I think, it is the best, I'm waiting. Thanks for your hard work.

Great work chaps! The pool is looking good and the thread is as entertaining as always! See you all Sunday night from my new pad in the countryside, no more London Underground for me! muhahahahha.

Oh and we have logged 40 unique visits per day (thursday, friday) on the official site, not bad by my reckoning.

Thank you LittleDigger - that is definitely accurate - I do not know how to implement the bonus block finding, nor have the code savy to design this in to the software, and have stated such.

I CAN however apply updates to the services and patches as needed. I'm not a n00b by far, but I am not a developer either Wink I am savy with compiling stuff from source, and using git repos to upgrade, and svn's...but again - I'm limited to the abilities of a sys admin, and a code enjoying enthusiast.

In other words, you are just like me, and sometimes you are on a steep learning curve.. just the sort of person who belongs here..

And I can be a bit funny, a bit overprotective of SXC.. It's my baby, and I worry about it.. probably have a little difficulty letting go when it's grown enough and it's time to let it go and make it's mark in the world

This is a great thing you're doing. I'll help any way I can. I'm sorry I didn't chime in sooner to help, but as you can probably guess, I was a bit buried. PM me anytime.

Yes, I'm sleepwalking again. No, I'm puzzled about the quote. How many hours are between us?
heheh...Its 7:30PM, Friday here.

I accidently forgot to remove the 'quote tag' when I edited it as new. Actual post was 'Today at 09:38:53 PM' board time.

Here's what's going on. The 'LavaPit' is up on the new server in a Datacenter and its ready to be beta-beaten. During the beta, as always, mine at your own risk, but I will be as fair as I can in the event of something going wrong. That being said, its proven to be quite stable. When it comes out of beta, I'm probably going to change the addess. Once again, I'm picturing beta ending after 2 weeks without incident. I want you to know, I'm serious as a heart attack about this installation. I've done a mountain of work porting this to Postgres and getting it so that its fair, stable, responsive, accurate, durable and precise.

I want to thank everyone for the hashpower you risked on the p2pool. Digger and I have no intention of bringing it down, mine on it if that is your preference. I've actually grown fond of it myself Wink

I need feedback. If you are mining on it, please provide opinions, suggestions, observations and complaints!

When you register you need a 'token' to create an account. I'm posting ten 'tokens' for the first ten people to sign up. Tokens are a 'one use' so if someone grabs it first, try another. I think it would be good if you could post here that you 'claimed' the token so people aren't needing to run through a bunch of trials until they hit a valid token. Once these tokens are gone, send me a PM to get a valid one.

Please use a valid email address when signing up. Its used for down worker notifications and password resets.

One thing I would like is a little feedback on how we are doing as devs..

I noticed Gr33k started a push pool for "spots" and it went straight to the OP of their thread..

I checked the new sexcoin pool out before I even considered endorsing it, Gr33k honestly admitted it didn't pay out bonus blocks, and lava is going to help him with that when he can...

I think it's in the best interests of the coin to make sure of things and to look after our miners who are loyal.. I'd rather a reputation for honesty and thoroughness ... even if it means less pools at this point..

How does everybody else feel in general ?

Thank you LittleDigger - that is definitely accurate - I do not know how to implement the bonus block finding, nor have the code savy to design this in to the software, and have stated such.

I CAN however apply updates to the services and patches as needed. I'm not a n00b by far, but I am not a developer either Wink I am savy with compiling stuff from source, and using git repos to upgrade, and svn's...but again - I'm limited to the abilities of a sys admin, and a code enjoying enthusiast.

I honestly don't know when we get a bonus block other than looking at the server's wallet balance and seeing more coins in there than blocks found, fees, and donations.

I have been thinking of creating maybe a faucet for SXC and dumping them in there for everyone to benefit.

I've no intention of stealing these coins by any means. It's simply due to no open source software currently being available (that I'm aware of) that puts in to account the bonus blocks, and how to handle their distribution other than just dump it in to the pool op's liquid assets.

Also - given the low value of the SXC - I didn't think it would be a huge issue in the present...but more so when/if the coin gains value. Imagine getting bonus blocks for BitCoin... That would definitely need to be shared amongst the miners as a "thank you"!

Manually dispersing these is possible - however not the easiest solution given the bonus blocks are not kept track of in the transaction logs (thus the math is manual - and I hate doing math manually LOL!)

Please don't hesitate to email me @ gr33k420 - at - gmail.com if you have info or software on this. I'm happy to do what I can to implement and test it for the benefit of the community Smiley

I'm surprised, there is no fedora- or openSUSE-build in your homepage.

openSUSE builds are here: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:p_conrad:coins/sexcoin

Yes, I know. I'm talking about his homepage.

We really appreciate the work you did on the fedora build, and I would have liked to move it into the sexcoin repository on github so all the clients could be found in one place, but I didn't want you to feel we were taking credit for your great work..

Thank you very much. You're free to do it. No problem - it's github.
