gmax and peter todd don't see monero as a threat to bitcoin so that's why they hate on and fear DASH but push monero.

Dash is not a threat to any alt-coin let alone Bitcoin ever since the Evolution announcement.  I mean 12- 18 months for a stable prototype with estimates in the 3-5 year range for a "gold" release. This is an eternity in crypto currency.

Quote
We will be writing the software for this project in stages, the first stage will take about 2 months to have a very early prototype for Dash Evolution that includes a basic implementation of DashDrive, Primitives, DAPI and a simple T3 wallet. In six to eight months, we should be entering testnet phase with most basic functionality. In 12-18 months, we plan for the first release version (a stable prototype).
https://www.dash.org/evolution/

DASH is already a top 5 altcoin. after evolution it will be second under btc. monero will have been totally replaced by then by a solid zerocash implementation. in 3-5 years DASH will be like google to btc yahoo.

interesting thread

it is clear that the BIG btc movers and shakers have interest in LTC, XRP, and Doge after that i doubt they have interest in the lower alts.

Monero has the interest of the eccentric members of the btc richlist

the rest is the wild wild west
the current market cap of DASH vs monero suggest otherwise.

This is a bit ridiculous. I don't like the reptilian (rpietilian), and I wouldn't want to break bread with the icebreaker either, but cmon, Monero is one of, if not the most, solid altcoins out there.

Here is a post by Greg Maxwell saying Monero is the only altcoin he owns:
https://www.reddit.com/r/bitcoinxt/comments/3vmwtb/what_if_any_incentives_are_there_for_longterm/cxoyxsu
Why? Because, "What monero I own is because it has integrated stealth address like behavior that make it possible for me to have a public donation address without losing privacy..."

Here is a link to a commit on the Monero github repo by Bitcoin Core lead maintainer Wladimir Van Der Laan:
https://github.com/monero-project/bitmonero/commits?author=laanwj

Here is a tweet from Peter Todd saying Monero is "genuine crypto":
https://twitter.com/petertoddbtc/status/622022840330682368

So are you saying that Greg Maxwell, Wladimir Van Der Laan, and Peter Todd, all Bitcoin Core developers, are all shills pushing a scam? A bunch of Bitcoin Core developers who apparently hold (to them) trivial amounts of Monero are "shilling" for Monero? Really? Can you name a single other altcoin that more than one Bitcoin Core developer has expressed support for?
gmax and peter todd don't see monero as a threat to bitcoin so that's why they hate on and fear DASH but push monero.

Proof?

Speak for yourself buddy.

I'm pretty sure Gmax, Ptodd, and Wlad can all speak for themselves.

just look at their (pt,gmax) btc bips and outspokenness on the scaling issue etc.
they want btc to stay decentralized (not happening) and live up to satoshi's dream.  they hate centralization (good on them) and all the gimmicky centralized solutions being built on top of btc so that it can scale and have anonymous and instant transaction. unfortunately btc was not built for those type of decentralized solutions like DASH. i'm guess the inability to make darkwallet decentralized is why peter gave up on that project, amongst other issues. same goes for gmax and his centralized btc based coinjoin solution. DASH solved both of those problems and so much more and so they are butthurt. they both have some good ideas and if they are smart they will come work for DASH and get paid directly from the blockchain https://dashtalk.org/threads/vote-self-sustainable-decentralized-governance-by-blockchain.4825/.
i don't know what Wladimir Van Der Laan fixed with monero's code but peter todd said is had lots of problems and exploits. someone can pull up his quote later but i don't have time. i know monero has been busy cleaning that mess up and why they have not had any time to really do anything of significance with the coin, well that and wasting time trolling other projects (DASH, ethereum etc). hell they can't even come out with an official gui wallet.

When i read their comments about Monero i just wanna slap them silly.
So much bullshit !
Where do i start ?

Well one of the last people to babble on about it on the Speculation topic is a legendary member
who is a super-noob with no other Altcoin experience what so ever. (Like Risto)
But since he has a Legendary status he is going to be trusted by new accounts here..
The guy spent 1 hour and failed at trying to find his Windows roaming profile before. ROFL
In other words he may be using his PC a long time but he s fucking retard.
My mom could find that folder but this blow hard shill ass can't HAHHAHAH
So what do i see ? His expert advice flogging a coin with false statements related to matters he knows hit all about.
Security.

So but if i see one more scammy asshole boast in their SIG etc that Monero is secure and "Untraceable" i am gonna lose it !

It's not .

Further more they claim "spikes" that are meaningless even though many people have posted pic's of the Exchange Charts.
Lies .
That is from start to finish one long trend..
Down.

More fucking lies.

And all those Legendary accounts have fishy history when i look.. i guarantee some of them are bought accounts.
AKA: Yet more Marketing antics & shenanigans.

This whole Monero bullshit is just one giant facade of losers lying their ass off.
Avoid this shit if you know whats good for you *new guys.

well i know it's not smoothie as he's not the sharpest tool in the shed but smooth or fluffy yeah maybe.

So first i heard way back Monero was a Cryptonote fork. / clone coin from the cloning platform.

You were mistaken. AFAIK the cloning platform didn't exist until months after Monero was launched. Original thread is here I think (July 1; Monero launched April 18): https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/cryptonote-a-complete-forking-guide-to-create-your-own-cryptonote-currency-673203

Then the story changed to it was a Fork of ByteCoin..
Now we have other news.. Monero was a community take over coin LOL

Both are correct.

I was not mistaken that is what all of you told me the last time Monero drama kicked up a year earlier.
Remember ?
How there was a backlash on this forum over Monero "Marketing"
