...great idea. Also use some founds for CFB to finish Lakshmi [LAK]

Lakshmi is very easy to create. All work could be done for 100 NXT. Smiley I don't do it coz I'm waiting for my partner, when she sorts out all legal issues.

I would be eager to help if you need it.

I could do it alone, I'm just waiting for my partner. Thank u anyway.

What is Lakshmi's main purpose? I thought you were going to create your Qubic ?

3 million = 0.3% of all NXT. If it brings success, then 99% of NXT will benefit of this 0.3%. BUT - if NXT goes up, 1 million today would be like 10-100 million in a year

Nextcoin is independent too. Just beause the founder also owns DGEX doesn't mean it's affiliated with DGEX.
In politics this is called: a possible conflict of interest.
That should be avoided (although I enjoy nextcoin.org more then this monster thread).

just an idea, would it not be better to have ppl with fewer nxt receive more nxt from forging and richer ppl less.. theres always going to be alot more ppl with a small amount. there for if they get more from forging you will have alot more ppl forging and because the fees go more to the poorer ppl the distribution would over time be better!? im not complaining about richer ppl getting more fees.. i know thats the way things normally happen rich get richer ect.. just thinking of distribution and the number of ppl forging.. im just guessing that the more ppl forging the faster transactions get confirmed? correct me if im wrong?

Rich people DO NOT just get richer because of things like 'interest'. In the real world, the rich get richer because of monopolies made possible by governments. Distribution will not be a problem because as the price of nxt goes higher and higher, the incentive to sell large amounts becomes too great for most people. However, even IF stakeholders want to horde for a long period of time, that's really not a problem either when you think about it. I really do believe though, that as price continues to rise, Nxt will become more and more distributed.

I propose as the only currently established NXT treasurer:

1.The 9M NTX to be split into four funds, with the additional one being a rainy day fund that doesn't get tapped for a period of one year
2. The rainy day fund constitute a minimum of one-quarter of unspent NXT
3. The committee spending the rainy day fund is to be formed in one year from genesis block formation to allow new blood that hasn't even discovered NXT yet a chance to participate
4. That rickyjames be established as treasurer of the rainy day fund

Instead of creating a "rainy day account" we should simply not burn money too quickly and hit the escape velocity where Nxt will appreciate faster than we are spending.

That's why I would much rather see you on a committee, trying to stretch the funds for more than a year, than as a treasurer with no right to vote.

Does this make sense?

Im sensing yet another poll to come: "How long should the NXT fund last?"
3m for marketing in 1 year is not a lot. That's all I got to say. The remaining mill for dev etc. I leave up to developers to weigh in on

Just for the record, your math is wrong, so anyone who agrees on this lie should make his own calculations first

Can you do your own math and give us a link to it?

However, if James directs this, then I will disburse as authorized.  Like he has for this 75K NXT for crazy-expensive $75 CPM audio spots over in another thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=412243.new#new
Can I please see some +1s ?

You are allowed to discuss anything there.

Just for the record before I delete the unauthorized advertisement on nextcoin.org, such an obvious agenda for downplaying competition on their own yard - and trying to score the points home for that is, well, almost tragicomic;
...

I have now asked GCInc. to settle this issue once and for all. I have not seen any "competition" being censored over at NEXTCOIN, but if it's the case I want the official word from GCInc. so this can be settled and we can finally do what I have asked for weeks: Start organizing using categoric forums rather than a wordsalad thread. Thanks

As time goes on you will experience failure, and that will give you wisdom and a sense of caution.

I finished serving my term some years ago.....and you are right failure and hardship are great teachers.  Smiley

Why the fuck are you making the font size big?
Noone has said we're spending the NXT "up front"; but 1 year is a long time period. 3m NXT in one year on marketing is not a lot at all.
I have no idea why you have such low confidence in the NXT community. WE've got this far without almost any NXT funding.

In poker terms I am not going all in on one hand. As someone who has won big poker tournaments on Pokerstars I must say your analogy makes me chuckle

I have reduced my font size and ask that you reduce yours.

I have enormous faith in the NXT community.

My point is that we don't have source code or even a stable knowledge of just what NXT is yet, and we should leave ourselves a reserve to deal with that fact.

Congrats on winning at Pokerstars.

Peace.  Out.

Ricky I respect you cuz you are my elder...but pls note I was a voting member of the Board at 24 years old and the operating budget of our organization was 250 million dollars....so I know how to operate in a strategic management structure.

I thank you for your respect, and I applaud your accomplishment and good fortune to participate in controlling a quarter billion dollars right after graduating from college.

As time goes on you will experience failure, and that will give you wisdom and a sense of caution.

NXT is the future

First marketing thing to do should be to use a specific forum for NXT instead of creating multiple threads on this bitcoin forum.

This long thread isn't easy to follow, and now you re creating more around ?  Huh

+1^100000

I have said this for weeks now. Let's start using the forum NEXTCOIN.ORG where we have 4500 active members. Why the hell are the main decisions still being made in this neverendingthread that is more disorganized than a crackhead?

Actually it should be nxtcrypto.org - if everyone moves there, members will come. Best to use a forum that is independent.

What is with this obsession with having control over NXT past 1 year? NXT is supposed to be decentralized. It is not healthy for NXT branding to have a official committee etc. at all. We HAVE to have it now that we're in beta phase, but it's not supposd to be a lasting thing. Hell even CfB leaves the ship soon. It's time NXT becomes self-sustainable.

Aren't you in charge of 2+ million NXT from private founders already? What are those being spent on?

NXT is less than 90 days old. Bitcoin wasn't self-sustainable for years.  Spending all the NXT up front is a HUGE gamble that you are going to get it right with no problems, yet we are CURRENTLY FLYING BLIND.  We don't even have the final NXT system from BCNext and JLP on the horizon yet, much less in our hands where we actually understand it and how to best manage it,    much less setting aside payment for an independent review to give it credibility.  In poker terms, you are going all-in on the first hand of the tournament.

That's what my obsession with one year is.

Why the fuck are you making the font size big?
