Have you heard of RDF http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resource_Description_Framework? There we always have incomplete graphs and can still analyze them.

That's interesting, thx for the link.

Literally, that's how you get back transactions. 'balance(t1) - balance(t2) =/= 0' represents a transaction to an escrow account (as in coinjoin). So we get transactions back.

Qubic works another way. Transaction data can't be restored by having balances.

But it still comes back to: how is the data distribution regulated? Who/what algo/incentives decide which node stores which piece of data?

Nodes that store and share data r granted with permission to issue new coins.

Joefox has powered up our wiki. We now support LaTeX and can do really geeky things like

We also have a quick guide to LaTeX. Not sure if everyone who needs to use LaTeX already knows it, so I haven't written much yet. If anyone needs a more in-depth tutorial, just let me know Smiley

That's great! Can I import text from "tex" files? I need to read some papers...

Lightweight clients don't need full blockchain. That's why we need public nodes that will become Service Providers in the future.

Are service providers covered in detail in the wiki/whitepaper? I can't find any information on the subject...

I want to provide a bounty for integration of a fully functional torrent client built into one of the nxt clients. Most importantly I want some type of decentralized magnet link system that provides useability at the level that a high quality torrent site provides (eg. Pirate bay level). I'm not a programmer/developer so I don't know, is this in some way possible? Is it a huge undertaking?

I would coordinate with nxtru (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.4739056) and nexern, perhaps they can put something together.

Keep us all in the loop please, this is an important project for NXT.

Any idea how many 1Mbps public nodes we need for strong stable NXT network to sustain 1000TPS. (That is just such a mind boggling number, but here we are planning for it!)

No idea. But 1000 Mbps hosting is cheap these days. And I doubt u could find less than 100 Mbps.

Can you politly ask him to write something down? we NEED this desperatly !

Asked ages ago, his position sounds like that (my wording):

Satoshi's whitepaper has never been critically reviewed. This led to the situation when serious problems like Centralization, Selfish Mining, etc. were revealed too late. More problems will arise in the future (Huge Fees, Ecological Catastrophe). By refusing to write the whitepaper BCNext forces us to analyze Nxt concept as deep as possible.

[offtopic]
Had you noticed that when writing Satoshi and BCNext both used double spaces after periods?  Just sayin'.
[/offtopic]

A lot of people do that. But yes,It's right.
Spot on!

Anyone did a forensic style of writing comparison between BCNext and Sataoshi. After a few minutes reading through both of their posts I see some obvious similarities in style and voice. Some things you can't place your finger on, just the voice coming though of a very efficient technical and well spoken person. Saw some glaring similarities like statements like 'I agree' and both tend to start posts with I. They both also often list things 1) 2) 3) etc, no unusual but another similarity. Anyone have any other similarities to share?

How is it possible to analyze incomplete graph???
By assuming it's complete and applying the same algorithms as if it were complete.

That post was made by me. BCNext gave me his BTT account password and asked to post that.

Edit: Wording is mine too, he asked not to copy-paste his original wording.

It sounds like we can't go much past 100TPS, thats 100KB of bandwidth. If a node every falls behind, how will it catch up?

This sounds like a fundamental limitation if the total TPS is limited by the slowest node. Or maybe only a few nodes can keep up with the 1000TPS and there is a way for slower nodes to catch up somehow? If BCNext solved this, it will be total NXT domination.

Ah, so to be a public node, you need to have 1Mbps. Otherwise you never sync up to blockchain so you might as well run lightweight client.

A raspi with 1Mbps will be more useful to NXT infrastructure than massive server without 1Mbps.

Any idea how many 1Mbps public nodes we need for strong stable NXT network to sustain 1000TPS. (That is just such a mind boggling number, but here we are planning for it!)

That gives away their age.  Back in the good old days of last century, it was how it was done.

If number of spaces after periods shows how cool they r then FC is the best, he used 3 (three) spaces. Smiley

It may be a Euro/Slav thing. IIRC, the Chicago Manual of Style (or was it Strunk & White's?) prescripted two spaces after a period (monospaced typeset); WYSIWYG, Adobe Pagemaker, modern fonts etc etc obviated the extra space. Some use it, some don't.

EDIT: shit, I thought you wrote CfB/BCNext... you said Satoshi. Ack.

Yeah, holy mother of G*d. Cheesy
