Anon I suppose you are familiar with adam3us achievements/background: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/adam3us-101601

He is very knowledgeable regarding zerocoin.
The zerocoin dev team ignore me - I think we should approach him to help us investigate whether zerocoin protocol is compatible with NXT PoS.

Can you approach him instead of me? You are more skilled in the mining algo and you would communicate better.

If he succeeds the bounty is 1M NXT paid by me (of course they could be paid partially/full from the 13M but we need to speed things up as much as possible)!

What do you think?

The use of 64 bit encryption for 0 transactions account is a CHOICE by BCnext. It was designed to be bruteforcable.
Only one outgoing transaction and the account is 256 bit encrypted forever.

The goal is to allow NXT to be minable in the future. All DarkNXT are not lost forever and will be recoverable with enough haspower  (in 10 years with specific ASICS, 50 years with gpu or whatever it take with cpu. The main point is to make those coin not lost forever)

Can you imagine a scammer putting such a ridiculous amount of thought into every subtle little nuance of his invention? If he was going to fleece us would he have really needed that ABSURD level of attention to detail? If nxt is a scam it will have to go down in history as THE most ridiculously elaborate and well thought out scam in the history of the world. Cheesy

Yeah, I'm assuming BCNext either has an incredibly clean home or an incredible messy home, no in between Wink

64-bit encryption is only used for accounts that have no public key and haven't done any transactions. It is recommended to make public key and do at least one transaction. Send someone some NXT, buy an alias, basically I think any proactive usage of the account gives 256 bit protection

How do I make public key?
pay at least 1 NXT fee for any kind of transaction

Or forge a block.
Does one need to back up anything after that? Will the password on a fresh install/device still bring up the account?

The password is the account. As long as you have it, you have access to the account

NXT is the future
Well he still has control and so far one single rewarding round in the hunger game style, these are the facts, what's not correct??
But as I explained further he can put it for more constructive planning (I offered him in another post week ago to give it to the future foundation), I also mentioned that he is personally not interested in those 13M coins. If he already promised to transfer it to a multisig account, that's a good news, I didn't follow. Still nothing incorrect about my post facts... I hope we can help more bounty seekers in a more constructive definite manner.
[/quote]

This is something I would like to know. Will there be such a foundation?
If so, I dont see the point of voting for multisig, then the multisigs could be given to members of that foundation, saves time and voting.

Could someone help me find out why node1.mynxt.info doens't show up as hallmarked? The hallmark is configured in web.xml, it shows up as valid:

Quote
{"valid":true,"weight":100,"host":"54.207.18.190","account":"9266023895795836964","date":"2013-01-04"}

But when I query it from another server, it says that node1.mynxt.info is not hallmarked.

Quote
{"platform":null,"application":null,"weight":0,"state":0,"announcedAddress":"node1.mynxt.info","downloadedVolume":0,"version":null,"uploadedVolume":0}

It actually even seems like node1.mynxt.info is not being recognized?! But the java server is running and you can access it here: https://node1.mynxt.info:7875

So what is wrong?

May I know about whom are you talking? Since your post has not the quote link and this thread is almost unreadable, already hard to follow any discussion.

Still if you are referring to maco, I didn't give him any cold. I guided him for collecting more help, and he sent me a pm thanking about my guidance (not a sign of it being the irony).
We have about 148383 Nxt remained in our pool, naturally I can not be positive to any single bounty requests being directed to me, that's why I locked our bounty thread. Still I like maco's project and may add to his basket if others help too.
BCNext has control over 13M unclaimed free Nxt coins, still his method of awarding has been a single hunger game. I know dozens of other big holders who have contributed zero help to Nxt project overall (no objection, just the fact). At least BCNext can bring in more constructive bounty settlements for those 13M to help the project going on (he said once that he has invested 1BTC himself, so he has a ~50M stake himself, and no need to let him have those 13M as well, I am sure he doesn't want them personally too).

About Cunicula, yes not a single news or message from him so far, though I recalled for his updates several times.. we paid him 600K (300K from me, 150K from klee and 150K from CfB)... I wouldn't judge him yet, as the others said, he might be dealing with some real life issues. We can say more in one or two months..

this is not correct BCNext has stated we have to deal with them he would put them on an account.

The community is searching a solution on how to administer the unclaimed coins.

The idea is to do it with multisig, 3 multisigs and 2 backups will be chosen from the community. We have to vote for what purpose we will use them. 3 multisigs will sign to set the NXT free.

The use of 64 bit encryption anywhere is a FATAL FLAW that prevents anyone from taking NXT seriously. FIX IT!  Cry

Is that a sign of disagreement or lulz for me being nervous sitting on my non-future-proof NXT?

There are a lot of GPU rigs out there.  Soon there will be darkNXT mining pools.

neither.  Its just this issue has been "hashed" out here so many different times that its just surprising to see it come up again like it does when people wig out about "it"
